That's better than I would expect. I'm ~200lbs. and enjoy my old Bianchi and De Rosa bikes. I inherited a Bridgestone Radac bonded aluminum frame bike (kind of a Vitus copy) that is unbearably squishy.
I have a 1991 in excellent plus condition. Red lettering. DURA-ACE components which was the highest quality of the three levels. And the highest price at around $2K USD new. I bought mine 2 months ago for $300 USD.
@@ReneeNme do you know how to glue them back together, I just put some tape around the problematical lugs all the way at bike where rear wheel go and continue to ride it. 90€ I pay for mine.
Okay so im really interested in getting one i found a 93 on marketplace it looks in mint condition my only concern is i live in the city so the roads are a little rough and i don't know if those tires can handle it and also im quite big im 6'6" and about 230lbs give or take so im worried the frame would flex/crack with the pressures. Let me know what you think tho because i love the way it looks and am super interested in trying a lightweight bike out!
How is this frame for flex? I've always wondered. I still have a 1988 Specialized catalog when the Allez Epic came with 7-speed Ultegra. I bought a Sirrus that year, which cost $500. I think the steel Allez with Ultegra was $750, and the Epic may have run as much as $1,400.
Hi, I am thinking of acquiring an equal, but I have doubts regarding the frame, they say that the carbon deteriorates soon, or that in this model detaches pipe of the ears .. a tip please .. sorry for my English, I I use the online translator.
There are yellow and red or puple ones on the market. I've noticed some owners had problems within the time. The weak point seems to be the glued connection between aluminium and carbonfibre. I think the yellow one is the most relaiable frame.
I got one of these when they first came out... it broke at the BB in 2 weeks... these frames were notorious for breaking at the lugs because the lug tube junction was too tight and not enough glue got in there...
As you can see, mine has not collapsed. Actual it's part of a exhibition at hibike. I think it was actually the first series that had a problem with the glue. As you can see, mine is not from this first series. The connection technology is definitely impressive, because the sleeve protrudes very far into the carbon tubes.
I don't think you have exact the same bike, maybe the frame s the same. Prices depends on components as well. I've seen some Allez Epics in the past at ebay sold between € 250,00 and 500,00. Wouldn't give my away for such a price.
