Specialized Epic 8 | The Fastest XC Bike in the World 

Currently riding a 2018 Epic. This bike sounds amazing! New geo, 120mm front and rear, 2 bottles, steering stop, and swat storage! Nice work Specialized! I can wait to check it out!

Whether its the fastest or not.... It is the first and only bike to hit all the "wants". 1) internal storage- not needed by world-cup racers but definitively needed by the rest of us racing marathon, 24 hour races, or unsupported xc to avoid having to work around seat packs with dropper posts. Any extra frame weight is still less than a wet mud covered seatpack. 2)Geo: a non dedicated "race only" bike ie Huge fun to ride as well as occasionally race events on. 3) Frame saving bar rotation limiter; if I can ever get to afford one of these bikes, Id never be able to afford to replace it if damaged in a fall. 4) 120mm travel; riding techy stuff fast for fun is what most non world cup racer keen riders do with mountain bikes, even if low level races have yet to evolve by realising that folks dont pay to enter xc races held on 1990's "gravel" courses any more, a bike that can do full on tech singletrack after work and then head for a multiday alpine stagerace as a "holiday blast" is exactly whats needed!. Thus a 120mm amazing descending bike can be justified as its waaaay more than a 3km course raceday only steed. As an ex-owner of multiple epics since 2007, this one is the pinnacle of what features were always a bit lacking. The world's most perfect bike.
