I'm running Ground Control up front and S-works Fast Trak in the back on Scott Scale RC. Very confidence inspiring for a technically deficient rider like myself. Surprisingly fast on loose gravel/rocky conditions in Utah. Coming from a Mezcal and Aspen, this is a huge improvement in comfort and speed.
I had Fast track LK sports on my old 08 rockhopper M4. I loved that frame. Tires were alright. Ended up going to panaracer fire xc pro's. Now I have the ground control grid T7 26" on my trail/slope bike (2013 Morpheus Skyla)
I have a stumpjumper HT old frame and i run 2.3 ground control upfront and fastrak 2.3 on the rear. these tires are very confidence inspiring. ITs a bit weird that my ground control "control"casing weighed in at 720 grams and my fastrak at 700g. im lovin the trail feel
I've just grabbed a Ground Control + Fast Trak combo (both 29x2.6, Grid casing) to try for summer use on my trail hardtail - interesting how little weight difference there is between 834g for your control casing GC and 891g for my 29x2.6 GC Grid. Fast Trak 2.6 Grid similar too at 868g. Haven't put them on the bike yet but looking forward to trying them out.
That Ground Control is the old tire, the Fast Trax pictured has different lettering, thats the new tire, all the new tires have that lettering, made in a new plant in Viet Nam, only Mountain Bike tires by Specialized are made in that plant, for better control.. great tires, they come with small tits on the knobs, I noticed better lap times once the tits wear off.. Happy Trails
Hi, I’m planning to grab a set of these (T7 front, T5 back) for a stumpjumper I’m building up. Would you recommend these for someone who mostly rides socal trails and goes to the bike park a few times a year? (I’m new to jumps but do enjoy them and berms are super fun as well)
I also have a scott spark 2022 running 2.4 schwalbe wicked will tires (excellent xc/light trail tires and predictable) if you have any input / comparison thoughts
