A quick one this week, hoping to do a more extended video on this interesting and very common species later in the year.
Its a very easy species to find and identify. It can be found all year and always growing on dying and dead Silver Birch (Betula pendula). It can often create a fairy staircase leading up and around dead Birch trees.
Not an edible species, rather inedible. but it has lots of historical uses.

Cheers nick, this one was a bit of a rush, would like to do another one on its various uses, including the plaster.
