@@KK-xs7hi I do not remember exactly because it is 24 years ago but I would say around October though not quite sure At that time, I was flying more than 6 times a year with the same flight.. You can find the exact date with the Hong Kong's Dept.of Meteorology of the Civil Aviation Dept. (Archives).

Someone in the comment section said this same plane crashed two years later. I didn’t no that it crashed that long ago. Btw from a scale of 1-10, how violent was the wind?

@@sylviasamuel5513 On September 2nd, 1998, the same type of plane crashed in the Halifax (Canada) area. It was also a MD-11, but I do not know if that was THAT exact plane. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swissair_Flight_111). The wind was shaking the plane in a strength of "7" maybe. The real point however is the short and difficult access to the then Kai Tak Airport.

A go-around is always a very good decision! Always.

Yes i was thinking that too. Would have been a fair chance it might have been, i don`t know how many they had in their fleet, but not a huge number, i don`t think.

@@halburton5483 Engine is mass load on airplane. Those planes which it's engines under wing have equillibrium balance because engines mass stay near wing which it is center of lift. Pilots use rudder on their yaw adjustment consider airplane mass mostly located on near center , Engine isn't moved when yaw. It's only little spin around plane center. While one has an engine fixed on vert. rudder. When pilot needs yaw in control it takes more effort doing that because plane aerodynamic needs more forces to move the tail engine in swing left or right according to the yaw movement.
