Mexico is the closest spot you can be from the launch if you are not a SpaceX employee. Even people who live close to the launch site are evacuated in the US side.

That's a drone. And it's a foreground object - it's no more than a couple hundred feet away from the camera. Whereas the rocket launch pad is three miles away.

Most likely damage from launch pad debris knocked out the three engines initially and five more later in the flight, so it was struggling from the get go. They'll fix the launch pad and get it right next time.
