Oh man, I'm brought back to being 8 yrs old seeing this for the first time!! This was the most spectacular thing I had ever seen and I couldn't believe it. I was so small, right in the front and I swear Minnie pointed directly at me and waved. It was also mine and my parents first time to WDW and to this day we still talk about Spectromagic. I'm now 27, my parents in their 50s and we are just one big Disney family.
@@sarahbgln Back in 2006-2008 I did a few roles. I was mostly one of the bass players with the Genie/Goofy/Chip and Dale musical float, but I would occasionally be "friends" with Pluto and Mr. Smee in the finale cavalcade. Changing the lights from color to white to color, etc. was a lot of fun.
@@Texaslawhorn I was there for all of 2007, I did the Disney College Program. I was in entertainment as a character attendant. Who knows, maybe I worked with you as your attendant lol!
The opening trumpet fanfare gives me chills...hope they bring this parade back sometime. No offense to the Main Street electrical parade..but in my opinion, Spectroscopy Magic tops it
I heard that. Water damage and termites apparently. I was mainly hoping for some sort of revamped version of it. There have been rumors of them sending Main Street Electrical back to Disneyland and bringing in a Spectromagic 2.0 or something. Just rumors but it'd be cool
MrMrMrprofessor Kinda sad that a lot of Spectromagic has gone. It was quite a maintenance intensive show though. Seeing It send chills through me too, mainly because I designed some of the software and hardware used in it.
The song from this is my LIFE *SHEDS TEARS* I don't have a lot of good memories at Disney as a kid-it was hot and the lines were long. But I remember this parade.
The Chernabog float with the wings that open and close...when it was completely functioning, it was a showstopper!!! Absolutely as good or better than Main Street Electrical Parade in many ways!!!
This still makes me mad to this day how the employees at Disney didn't take care of the floats in this parade and left them in a tent where weather and bugs got to them. I miss this parade so much! I remember any time I went in the 90s, I had to see it! The last time I ever saw it was in 2004 and always hoped it would come back. when I heard of the floats being destroyed I actually cried. this was just such a beautiful parade with Disney magic that I feel like the parks are missing now.
What a great show, still can't believe they took this away. Maybe once they get the hang of Paint the Night they will build a new Spectromagic with newer technology. But whatever the case is anything is better the Paint the Night.
Now, since the Main Street Electrical Parade has moved to Disneyland, I have a feeling that it's time to bring back the Magic Kingdom's all-time classics...SpectroMagic! SpectroMagic was probably one of the best forms of nighttime entertainment in Disney park history; taking the basic concept of the beloved Main Street Electrical Parade and making it more elegant; more grandeur. What other parade do you know of has its soundtrack done in 3/4 time, instead of 4/4? But however, it won't be the way long-time guests will remember it. Oh, no; I'm might end up in hot water for this. This all-new parade is essentially a mixture between the original SpectroMagic and Disneyland's popular Paint the Night. You may call it, SpectroMagic: Our Colors Combined.
@@justinchavez9530 I'm at the point where Disney is so different and so much has been taken away that I can take or leave it when i'm in the area. They say the parade has been destroyed and thrown into dumpsters but I don't know how valid that is. For all we know its in pieces in storage containers.
This is wonderful. The Electric Light Parade pales in comparison and this was my favorite parade in disney world. I hate the guts of whoever had the brilliant idea to get rid of it like my god
This brings me memories of when I've seen this parade as a young child!!!! I love everything, especially the MUSIC!!!!!!!! It is just so spectacular, it really makes me feel the magic! I dont like the slightly annoying Baroque Hoedown from MSEP!!! I hope they really bring Spectro back soon!!!! Its my favorite parade!!!! XD
i remember this parade from when i was younger!!! i love it so much. i was it would come back to Disney World. and yes i am wondering......where is Peter Pan? he's my favorite but everyone likes Tinkerbell and Captain Hook better i guess
I love this parade and this is a good video, but I hate videos that cut out the fanfare and the lights dimming because that's the most important part of a nighttime parade
Awesome Parade! We we're at this exact show, and I found my family and I on the other side of the street on the inner circle! It's a Small World After All! :) The rain that accompanied the fireworks show that night was not all that great, but the fireworks were!
@DisneyPinsWeekly Electrical Parade will return to the Disney Resort at Spring 2012 it's for one year, but for Spectromagic the return date has not been set.
Jeez, this was a gorgeous parade ♥️ I just WISH Disney is planning a new night parade for MK that is new, fresh, stunning and ground breaking. (This is my personal liking, but my dream night parade would somewhat be a spiritual successor to this one with a well blended modern/pop/orchestral score! As all those elements are the DNA of Disney to me! But not so much full on straight modern like Paint the Night...altho that music is very cool!)
wow brill quality! been to disney more times than i can count but for some reason every time we see the night time parade we always end up in the same place near the river (or whatever its called) bit, a bit far down from splash mountain! duno why its kinda just become our spot! lol i wish they bring this back prefer it to the electrical parade! :)
not kidding at all.. At the very end. When you pan to the right, at 20:00 there is a green stroller with the tray opened up immediately between the two floats. I am the guy sitting on the ground to the right of the stroller and my wife is next to me. I filmed the whole thing on a Flip Mino HD. I'll post it, and maybe I caught footage of you ! :)
I hope they bring something with a similar feel back to Disney to replace MEP. I don't like paint the night for wdw. It's too fast and hyper to enjoy and too much of a pop music/techno feel. PTN is obv. a great and technologically impressive parade but I don't think it feels right for Disney world. I love the classic, majestic flair of this one! This one was in great need of some updates obviously but it feels so magical and special-feels like Disney world! While MSEP gives the Disney feels I think it's a bit underwhelming. If they bring PTN to Disney I'll have to only go when the Christmas or Halloween parade is going 😩😂 it just takes out so much of the Disney Magic for me! The music is just so overstimulating- like if I want to listen to overdone pop music I can listen to the radio. Disney world needs majestic Disney music!
Great video, reminds me of good times at Magic Kingdom Orlando..... What video editing software did you use to create the background and text at the beginning.....thanks Graeme
@DisneyPinsWeekly Last year? That's impossible they're in Magic Kingdom at Orlando, Florida. They're not in the Disney Resort at California. June 5, 2010 is the opening date of Electrical Parade in Magic Kingdom.
@Antsinthepants24 It looks like the Main Street Electrical Parade is staying at the Magic Kingdom now. No word on when oh where SpectroMagic will be next. Personally, I think it should go to Disneyland for a while so CA visitors can check it out!
I love this video so much. The procession of Chernobog is captured perfectly! 35 foot wingspan and all! If you want to save a youtube video to your hard drive you can google "save youtube" or any other similar site. You'll get a step by step guide. It saves you from having to use data every time you want to watch your favorite youtube video.
+glosvideoclub HD format cameras were around back then. HD isn't that new. I had a JVC pro camcorder during the time this parade was going on....JVC GY-HD110U
Thank you for sharing your awesome footage of WDW SpectroMagic. I could only image how fantastic that must have looked when it came out. My name is Jerry Cornell, owner of Theme Parkology, of which I produce documentaries on theme parks, attractions, characters, legends, and animators. I am currently editing the history of The Main Street Electrical Parade, covering its concept, construction, and changes through the years. I was wondering if I could use your WDW SpectroMagic footage as I know it would assist in telling the complete story? I will of course credit you and send you a free copy of the finished DVD. This documentary will focus on the history of the Parade while preserving the story. I thank you for sharing your amazing videos and for your consideration. Jerry Cornell jerry@themeparkology.com
I miss that parade so so much an don't like the New Electromagic Parade! Do any of you guys know how to upload this video so me and my Family can keep it forever?
