I’m having a hard time getting my daughter to repeat what I say …. Even when she wants something if she doesn’t get what she wants she cries instead instead of just repeating what I say or try
With the fact that our 2 1/2 year old grandson lives with us and is being brought up bilingual ( English/German) and that we’ve been in various types of Covid lockdowns for the last year, during which contact with other children was minimal, we missed the fact that he is on the spectrum. This 9 minute video is so helpful in getting me out of panic mode and into accepting and trying to understand his world. Thanks for the tools to help us communicate better.
My Baby us 26 months and he goes to speech therapy. He hasnt spoken his first words to date. Anything I can do at home to help him? any exercise? I am a worried mommy I need help to help him.
I struggle with this so hard living with my bf, his mom and brother. Whenever my daughter goes up to them, they don't engage. Instead they say, what ? Or huh? They don't even try to implement speech..this bothers me since I feel like I'm the only one trying to assist her communication. Idk how my bfs mom did it when she had kids but the way she's doing it now is not it.
He is right my son also 2 years old and he can’t speak sentences but he say words and colors, so i doing the same way as he said i let those sentences repeat everyday long maybe 10 sentences everyday same we did he start change and make sentences also after 1 week of my try now he is 2 years and 3 months and talking well
Hi Ming. I have a brother who's 27 months and hasn't said his first words yet. All he does is babble and we all keep trying to engage with him but nothing seems to be working. He's in his own world, as hes in the autism spectrum. What do you think we should do?
Thank you. You made it sounds easy and achievable. I always stress on I WANT in whatever situation my son and I encounter , he barely remember to say it but he able to say long sentences like, mama come with me at 2. Will try your advice and hope that my son could build kore vocabulary after this👍🏻
I would have to disagree with the idea that a 2-year-old isn't able to sit for a long period of time. I've observed my 2-year-old children sitting for extended periods based on the activity at hand. I noticed that, depending on the activity, the child will stay engaged for a while. Following a child's lead is cool, but you need a balance of allowing the child to follow your lead as well.
My son is autistic and 21/2, how can I read to him because I understand it's very important at home when you add speech therapy at him especially if u don't get enough therapy from a professionalist. How do I get him to wantto listern and interest ed . Can we watch a auido book instead plz help.
Sometimes I feel he doesn't even understand what I'm saying when I talk to him about rewards you know, what I useally do is try to read while his feeling drowzy or falling asleep coz that the only time he sit still
@@AgentsofSpeech Dont know much about Reading to an autistic child, just a thought I hadto help him with speech. Any other ideas with rewards apart from a toy car which he absolutely love! Sorry to ask so many questions it's just that I've always heard of this reward things and never know how to use it. Thank you so very much, I'll start to today and let u know about the results
You can use a car slide: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u1Cq4OJeQG4.html And watch this video of a demonstration from another therapist: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9gTPS0cX4VQ.html
@@AgentsofSpeech got it ming! We tried the car slide hehe he's not quite into it as our slide has parking slots and he likes to park the car instead of letting them slide haha. But he did learn open, go, and imitated stop a few times

My son is 2 years and he don't say single word.. He doesn't even say mama and baba intentionally calling us.. He says randomly.. Never repeat any word before us.. Never follow us.. Few things like I say let's wash you and change pamper.. Thn he comes.. I ask for milk he become attentive.. So few things he understand and do.. Says his own language.. So it's normal?
He follow few things I am use to do with him.. Cutting nail he try to act.. With cotton bud he try to clean.. So few things he is following.. If I want to stop something I have to repeat it
After hearing you mention not using “I want “ what are some alternatives statements of request that’s appropriate for building up word knowledge, vocabulary expression for my 21 month old boy ?
My daughter is 2 years 7mnths now and she is not saying any words just blabbering and some words like ball juice ice cream that too very rare and she does not repeats what we do and stays alone and enjoys her own company how can I make her do speech sessions
Hello Ming, my daughter is 2 and will copy us and say a word. But won’t use it again. She uses hand gestures, but less words. She will grunt and use a gesture for water but won’t say a word. This is common. Any suggestions?
I cannot say if it's common or not, because that's relative. My suggestion is to watch other videos on the channel. If you need more help you can join our course here www.agentsofspeech.com/micro
Hello Sir, Can i ask what tip you'll give to a 6 years old boy that is struggling with for ex. pronouncing the word "ship" and he says "dip" something to do with "s" and"d" sound / "faith" and then he says "baith". Your tip really is a great help.
This is what we call "stopping" he changes /s/ &/sh/ to /d/ and /f/ to /b/.... I would suggest that you work on his /f/, try if he can do the /f/ sound by itself first. Very difficult to tell you more here, the best advice is: find a qualified speech therapist to take care of it!
This is helpful, my daughter is 2.5 months with speech delay and she now started to bubble and imitate almost everything I say or heard but not clear just sounds and rhyme. She is good in Vowel sounds but couldn’t pronounce consonants. When I tried to teach her word like “open” Ooo-pppp-een, trying to pronounce them each slowly, clearly but couldn’t say it, sometimes I would hear her say the “O” only or “Ey”. She couldn’t pronounce P and B, having hard time to say it. I’m thinking if I should get her to speech or I’ll wait. She calls me “daddy” but call her mom “yaye”😅 instead of mommy. But when I asked her to say mama, she could, but not using it to her mommy 😆.
@@AgentsofSpeech We’ve done it, I was informed she has GDD we are working on it.. she has alot of improvement before we took her to OT. The Ot says she can do speech but she has low attention span 😅
Same with my daughter she says mama and papa I’m so concern she can’t put words together..she sings a lot like babbling singing 😩we speak our local dialect most home and mix with English language..she try to say something but we don’t understand I just enrolled her in speech therapy
