My 3 year old son has both immediate and delayed echolalia. Your video is very helpful. I am going to try low pitch high pitch technique with him. He doesn’t say yes or no. So even if I give him a choice juice or water… he repeats after me. He is very smart and has photographic memory. His delayed echolalia is always appropriate with the situation when he is in at that time. I am following the tips from your delayed echolalia video as well.

Just hold up the juice and say yes/no? If multiple choice use images and "pick". Use a handsignal to signal when child should repeat a useful sentence. "May i have a ..... Please"

Hi, im 24 years and im on the spectrum, i never been to a doctor to run test or how ever it goes only a school counselor. I believe i have this condition but im always afraid to admit it or dont want to admit it. I've always had an uneasy feeling that I was repeating people's conversations, my thought or songs because i would get weird looks from people or they would start to make fun of me which stress me out more from embarrassment which caused it more which is why i do not like to leave the house much. I have a tendency to have controversial thought/intrusive thought/explicit/perverted, dont know why it was never this bad in high school. Basically its made my life hell not knowing if i do speak my thoughts out loud, repeat people conversation or sings songs/make random noise or anything with out realizing or hearing myself say it. Ive asked my brothers n sister on occasion if i talk outloud n they tell me no; it seriously feels like they wont tell becuase if i did know i would limit the things i would say or try to stop all together. it makes me upset that my family wouldn't try to get me help and instead keep it from if it were true i just want to live a relatively normal life, u know go out to eat, go out with friends but i Dont know if im living with echolalia or if im dealing with schizophrenia/pshychosis. Do people with the condition know they doing because i don't even feel my mouth moving when i feel like im going threw an episode echolalia

How about child that keeps wanting you to repeat? You don’t repeat but they keep coming to you trying to make you repeat it and if you don’t they will keep on for an hour after you and even get aggressive. How do you handle that? Please give me a tip!
