I've used these for about a year and a half over the course of several thousand rounds in my LCR 22. The fact that they positively push the rounds into the chambers rather than relying on gravity is a huge help, especially with lightweight 22LR. The only time I've ever had any rounds come loose was actually in a class using the SpeedBeez belt pouches. Taking a knee and shooting around a barricade caused the yellow buttons to press into my side and dump the rounds inside the pouch. I've never had the button get pressed or any rounds come loose when the loader was in a pocket. For taking classes I now either put the SpeedBeez in a cargo pocket, or use Revision CV loaders which are like the Safariland Comp loaders but with a more intuitive button system for me. That said, for defensive use I don't carry strips or loaders anymore, I have a second LCR so I can make use of the "Covered Low Ready" advocated by Darryl Bolke.
I will always have a soft spot for the GP100 series. My friend's .357 is one of my favorite handguns. Eventually I'll end up getting one. Solid revolvers.
I bought the 100 round loading block and speed loader from Speedbees for my S&W 617 (10 shot 22LR). It was fantastic. Ended up selling the gun and the goodies with it, but I can highly recommend these. I had the setup for about a year and put maybe 10 billion rounds through it with just the single speed loader.
I had a Safariland speedloader, just like the one you showed in the video, and one of the retaining Clips broke. I had it for a very short time when that happened. I swear after that that, I would never use anything but HKS speedloaders. I have two HKS speedloader for my Ruger Security Six, I have one for my Ruger Redhawk 44 Magnum. I have these 3 HKS speedloaders for decades and not one of them's give me any problems and they're still holding up strong.
Please help! I bought my speedbeez loaders for my new kimber k6s dasa. I also bought some blank full size “practice/dud” bullets from my local store as well as a bunch of 38 special. -I took the gun to the range, fires great. -I then used the speedloader with the blanks- just to test it out- worked great. -I then tried to use the speedloader with my 38 special rounds, and they would not load into the revolver. The speedloader would hold the bullets perfectly, but when I tried to load them they would get stuck about 1/3 of the way into the cylinders. It doesn’t appear to be catching on the grip (which was my first thought.) they start going in fine and then they just get stuck about a 1/3 of the way in and will not go any further, no matter how much I jiggle or push. The same bullets fit perfectly into the cylinder without the speedloader. Please advise if I am missing something, I am totally at a loss! Thank you!
I find a zen like feeling from shooting revolvers, especially . 357/44. Something about dropping 6 torpedoes in the cylinder and doing my damnedest to get a group with just those 6.... low speed, high drag kinda makes it more relaxing I guess. But, nice speed loader for the .22 GPHundo. The . 22 version is on my list to match my 6inch .357... The GP's will last forever. Hope all is well Penguin.
Interesting. I guess it's easier to mak it work well in .22lr. Not much .22lr revolver matches around here but I like the idea. Do they sell spare parts at that price? Have you tried them with lots of lubed rounds?
