This is a set of speed bumps intended to stop excessive traffic through a neighborhood. Local residents say it is a hazard and have petitioned to have it removed. Just imagine a fire truck trying to negotiate this one!!
@@oscarmorales8979 At least the people living there might have cars with decently comfortable suspension. A postal worker in a Grumman LLV, however, doesn't.
@@donaldtrumpstwitteraccount8171 those things are getting to be 40 years old and are extremely inefficient not many mechanics know how to work on them anymore but I hear the government is testing for a new fleat vehicle right now and it's looking like it's going to be a Ford Transit van
Me too! 9/22 today. I don’t get it. Is there a lack of new quality content for YT to recommend? This isn’t the first 12 year old video it’s recommend this week. Weird.
Well if people like you would slow down through neighborhoods that have normal speed bumps they wouldn’t have to put more in is a safety matter what happens when someone is going 30mph through a neighborhood and hits a little kid because they had nothing to restrict speed?
I don't think you realise the extensive testing shock absorbers and Springs go through just to make it into your car. Like if you watch a slow mo of suspension in action on an everyday Road it gets a beating. They wouldn't listen anyway. I hit a pothole in my car it put an egg in the tyre, I wrote a letter to the council not wanting a reimbursement or anything just letting them know. And Pothole is still there 🙄 it's been like 2 years
They should install a huge warehouse just next to the speed bump, so all deliveries just gets dropped off and the tenants can just go collect it on their own.
This is the greatest short film of all time. It has it all: action, drama, SUSPENSEnsion and a load of yellow speed bumps. BRILLIANT. *said in the voice of the pilot in the Father Ted episode 'Flight into Terror' when he's given the sticky tape* YOU HAVE USED FIVE INCHES OF STICKY TAPE; GOD BLESS YOU.
Years ago something like this was done in and around a sub-division. The "around" part is what caused all the uproar because it was a heavily trafficked road especially during school hours, and after several complaints of busted headlights, mangled splash guards, and damaged exhausts, the speed bumps were finally cut out.
Yep! They put in little markers on a road near me, you had to slalom between them, they slowed Noone down, it became a fun obstacle, and a bunch of people took to riding the horn all the way down that section of road to piss off the people who whined until they put them in. Needless to say they are now gone lol
Where I live, they have built the smoothest, nicest speed bumps where it feels the car is slowly elevating and descending, as long as you follow the speed limit. Which is how they should be made.
Yeah on a normal suspension its fine...now try on a racing ones i take those fuckers at 10 kmh max and theres a ton of them here... people get upset because of me going slow...fuck off people, you wanted that shit on the street, now pay the consecuences.
@@MadVolbeat I know right, my car is a sports car technically (though it's sold as a family car) and the stock suspension would bottom out on such horrid speed bumps.
@@Bloodin28 I remember one of my teachers at school owned a Citroen DS. She gave me and a friend a lift home once in it. I’ll never forget it, it was the most comfortable car I’ve ever sat in.
Just any normal car with high profile tires and small lift kit and u can go 60 on those, sure it will fck your suspension after couple times but in a beater it doesnt matter.
@@phoephoe795 Yes, 9-1-1... my husband was sitting here watching a RU-vid video, something about speed bumps and looks like he was scrolling through the comments, his screen was paused on one that said something about a catheter. Yes ma'am, he's conscious but barely. Well the first indication was I heard this large *gasp* from him, he yelled "OH - MY - GOD - - - NOOOOO", his defibrillater went off and when I ran over to his desk he was lying in the floor clutching his groin blabbering something about "no no just a video, just a video, no no no, ok, ok, it's ok I'm awright".
Most likely it isn't owned by the city/county but by the private complex that owns all the apartment buildings in there. Once you turn off the street you're just on private property and that is the driveway.
This slows down people so they don't hit CHILDREN. Dont hurt the CHILDREN. Put speed bumps in to slow down traffic cause dumb as fuck kids run into the street from bad parenting, so bad parents bitch and get speed bumps put in.
I currently own a similar model of the red nissan truck and I'm dead set to go there just to full send it and its kinda sad I jump hills and this person cant go over a few bumps
I’m disappointed that no one just went full send over them, I have a theory that going faster would actually be less wear of your suspension in this case
This is obviously for a residential development. In other words, you'll probably be suing the HOA that you're a part of because you didn't know better and didn't realize your dues are going towards repairing this piece of crap.
@@jackwebb437 Do you realize theres many production cars that wouldn't clear these bumps and would be left with a turn off bumper and scraped exhaust? Doesn't matter how slow you go, it'd be impossible to hit these at an angle to avoid damage
Since we first placed these bumps and everyone hates these speed bumps, we doubled the number and therefore the length. And they are also now at the exit of the neighborhood. It’s great to watch people not paying attention to the signage.
To the sadistic gentleman or lady that put these speed bumps there........ We thank you so very much, love always your neighborhood friendly suspension and alignment shop 😁
@@slipknotfan2217 HOA’s and their bylaws give people the ability to powertrip. Imagine getting a love letter from your HOA because you had your trash out an extra day. Or for painting your house the “wrong” color. Or for not sending them a letter when you want to re-landscape your house so that they can approve the design. Imagine being forced to paint your house every 7 years or risk paying a $4000 fine. Imagine not being allowed to plant fruit trees on your own property. That literally happens in my neighborhood. There are a few good reasons for having an HOA but there are so many downsides.
So many people never realized that the faster you drove over speed bumps the less you’d feel them and the less they’d impact your car suspension. They literally become worst when driven at the slowest speeds.
But this is America, where oftentimes when someone is placed in a level of authority to make plans like this it is often influenced by their own narcissism and fear that something bad is happening that they NEED to control (but there isn't). See "Homeowners Association" and every Karen freakout video.
I lived in an apartment complex that small triple speed bumps all over the complex. Never bottomed out but it shook the shit outta your car. So unnecessary
Had an apartment at the end of the building, right next to the parking lot, which had a single speed bump. All day all night, it was people slowing down for the bump and then gunning their engines after they'd gone across. It was infuriating - got the office to break my lease w/o penalty because of the noise. If the bump wasn't there, people would just coast or putter through the lot.
I noped out of a tour at an apartment complex I was looking at because of the sheer number of speed bumps you had to go over to get to any of the buildings the available units were in. Rent is high enough without the extra wear on the car, plus the sheer aggravation of having to slow to a crawl every 75 feet or so for damn near 1/4 mile.
@@J.Gainez yeah, that’s what I was meaning, they tried going slow, but ya know, trying to go slow and have enough torque in a manual while going over a LOT of speedbumps like that is very difficult.
Can you imagine coming home from surgery and have to go over those bumps, you can't go too slow or you get stuck like the red truck. "Ouch.. oouch.. ouch..oucchh. oooowwwwchhh. owowwwcch... my stitches popped."
The red truck didn’t “get stuck”, it was probably more like he went too slow, lost momentum and that’s why he rolled backwards. Probably real annoying to cross over that speed plateau with a manual transmission vehicle
@@stephanroller3209 just leave it in first gear and give the engine a couple hundred more revs than idle and it should go over no biggie without using the clutch. But you have to commit to it and do it all in one go.
i watched a video once where some guys built some speed bumps and went over them at 100km/h. It was so fast they shattered and the cars barely bumped at all. I think Jeremy has the answer here
@@ccitationx7045 it depends what type of speed bump your are dealing with,if the bump is smooth and not a very high, you can go as fast as you want, but if is very high then slowly is the only way
Theres a dumb speed bump on a main road near my house, wasnt there few months ago, and it literally just comes outta nowhere (for a school crosswalk) but it is soooooo unneeded, so to assert my dominance right after crossing it i turn off traction control 😂 literally on a main road that goes from 50mph to random speed bump in road
@@matthewreid6495 study's actually show this is why speed bumps don't work. It just makes drivers mad and they speed up even more after they clear it. There are better ways of designing roads to get drivers to slow down without making them frustrated
@Stuart Ayers That's quite interesting. I just don't understand why people work themselves up so much. I'm so at peace when I drive. I'm helping my brother learn to drive. The other day he struggled a bit with pulling away. One car just drove around us and then this guy in a van got so worked up that after he drove around us he literally blocked the whole road for a minute thinking we would get just as irritated as him before his wife told him to just drive into their driveway and get over himself.
That's actually very middle class attitude. The people who buy SUV but not sport car, and think they are special because they qualified for 30 year mortgage.
Rich neighborhoods with too much money. And it is a real jerk thing to do to people with manuals and low vehicles. Imagine an ambulance trying to get someone through that who is in critical condition. Yea those are doing a lot of good there. Slows them down for 10 seconds then the speed off to the next one.
