I got a toy sing along “karaoke” type thing at a thrift store a while back. Its basically a tape player/recorder with microphone pass through. Was wondering what I would do to it. The algorithm read my mind and brought me here. All praise the algorithm.

I was able to do this with my reel to reel Teac x-3. I replaced the small blue trim (pot) potentiometer on the circuit board that is wired to the tape motor. It controls what speed the reel to reel should be running. I replaced that one with the one in the video. I also soldered wires to the board so they are long enough to come around to the front for manual control. I was shocked when it worked!!! I now just have to set it up with midi control. thanks for the video.
