I used to train this exact drill a lot until I actually did it automatically after each popup. And that was wrong because I was outrunning most of the waves I caught. As intermediates we already have the tendency to run away from the (sometimes scary) pocket of the wave. So, unless you only ride super fast beachbreaks, be careful with that skill and use it wisely.
Fair point but better to be able to have skill in the bag than not! As per the last vlog I think it’s quite hard to change the line you get used to at a wave you know well. But considering a few viewers have slated my speed generating technique or lack of, it’s probably something I should address :)
@@erickvpoul perhaps, but there lies the progress, there are actually lots of options and like most people I can only do the one I’m used to at the moment !
That 10 minutes flew over watching that, wish I caught the live but at least it,s there to watch and a nice long vid..) the next one cant come too soon..Thinkin about shaping my first board ..hah opinions are like arseholes, and theres certainly never a shortage of arseholes
