looks like your having fun speeding around!! I was thinking of you last week when i got to ride a bullet train from Moscow to Saint Petersburg... I think we maxed out at 180 kph. but it was smoooth as silk! Fun ride! Chat soon (=
More fun or more scary? Definitely scarier for me, it made me wince a few times. I doubt it would be fun to come off with your gas powered loco landing on your legs! BTW, I've only just descovered your channel and I'm loving your videos, especially the austerity saddle tank action :)
Hi Steven, canting the track more will make it unstable for slower trains on such a narrow gauge. There seems to be a happy medium of a little superelevation and I think I've reached that. I don't intend taking passengers at this speed. Bigger engines sound like fun!
I'm trying to place you Jonathan. Are you an Englishman living in perhaps the US or Canada? Your surroundings don't look particularly English. I'm in Australia, retired mechanical fitter, but not in much of a position to do a garden railway. I like the idea of a Polly 5 inch rather than a scratch-build like the Simplex because most of the machining is done, but I doubt the wife would go for any of it. I would have a static display probably rather than a runner. Just dreaming I think, but your vids are very enjoyable...
This is the northeast of the USA where I used to live till recently so you're pretty close. Now back in the UK with all my trains where there's plenty of places to run them other than my garden. I've seen a few Polly's running and they seem to be good engines and steam well. Thanks for commenting and watching the videos.
@@GandyDancerProductions Thanks Jonathon. They are good videos, particularly the garden runs, Good commentary, editing and some good nuts and bolts shots. One of the few vids that actually lets viewers in. Your construction vids are encouraging but with many cuts, you make it all look too easy when we know it's far from it. Keep it up, we can always dream...
