You've done it! This video has nudged me just now, today, to prime my first bunch of minis and finally break out those speed paints I bought forever ago! Excellent inspiration 👍😎
I absolutely love this Mark! It's amazing how often a simple set of colors and techniques can yield such a wonderful look when you just take into account shadows and highlights. I always learn something from every video - as always, thank you!
Hi Sorastro, thank you for the great video. Actually it would be awesome to see you using speedpaints more often (especially army painter 2.0) as i plan to paint all journeys to middle earth with that + classic methos for details and highlights. I've restarted painting after 20 years thanks to your videos, as i've bought Imperial Assault 6 months ago, and now i've just finished the core set. Thank you so much for your hard work, it is inspiring! cheers from Italy
Hey, awesome to see that you keep on going with this series after a long time. Hoped for blood rage completion aswell to have your videos as a help with color choices. Did Blood Rage on my own then. Turned out ok as well 😊 But anyways. Nice to see you going back to Lord of the Rings ❤
Hi, you can get some amazing effects by mixing acrylic paints directly with contrast paints. They're not two mutually exclusive approaches. You can layer up from contrast paints.
I have been hoping you would finish LOTR series. I just stared painting the main game and your Guides have been great. I can't wait to finish all expansion for LOTR.
Thank you SO MUCH for these videos! It has introduced me to the hobby and enabled me to have a beautiful game to play! I am planning to support you on Patreon as a thank-you. Are you planning to eventually cover the Scourges of the Wastes figures after you finish the Spreading War figures? There are hardly any videos on RU-vid of those figures being painted, and I'd love to see your ideas in how you'd approach them!
Thank you kindly! Yes, I will be covering the Scourges of the Wastes - just as soon as I've finished the last two Spreading War minis (watch the the Boromir episode dropping soon..) 😀
Love it Mark. I always laugh when you mix colors. I think a paint line could have 1000 shades and you would have them all but still be mixing them to make new shades.
@@Sorastro honestly most time I am at the game store I pick up a pot or three (hmm I don’t have that one) and then when I’m painting I inevitably mix things on a wet palette, and then look up at my paints and see that exact gradient in four consecutive probably unopened paints on the rack. Goes to show it’s as good or better to have fewer and mix.
I'm on the fence liking or disliking speed painting. Big benefit is speed but it gives model look of old black and white movie which was recoloured. Finishing touches are helping with that but still prefer layering option.
Yep! It's all a question of what standard you're after, and how much time you wish to invest in any particular paint job. I didn't want to spend long here as you can tell 😁
Hi ! Are thèse speed painted orcs looks great next to the fellowship membres that you have painted even if the fellowship membres do not use speedpaints? Thanks :)
