I'm a nitro fan and builder, but I have to say iv enjoyed following you on that build. You are a great teacher and iv learned a lot from watching your vids so thank you. Please do more on different types of rc's, I think I speak for us all who's followed you when I say you make awesome videos 👌👍
Personally I won’t be building one but enjoy watching it happen….. my pb is 76 mph with my xo1 and very satisfied with that couldn’t imagine 150 lol… nice videos 👍👍👍
Amazing series Raz. Just a few years ago a 150mph off the shelf RC was unthinkable, lots of people refer to the 80s as the “Golden era” of RC but sometimes i wonder. Technology has grown by leaps & bounds, a huge variety of cars/trucks is available & more people than ever are involved. Maybe we’re in the Golden era right now! Good times indeed!
Exellent series! Thanks for sharing your secrets! Most big speed run channels show going fast and components they use or sponsored with. Keeping the setup hidden like its magic bs. Not impressed. I tuned my infraction to this setup and finally hit my goal of 125 yesterday. Straight and fast. Thank you!
Thanks for making this series, Raz. These videos are an amazing source of info for guys who may be newer to the hobby or guys who want to take their builds to the 150mph tier. As always very well done.
I was not building with you my friend but boy did I learn from your videos and I hope you keep doing things like this because its so helpful to the rc community thank you
I know I'm a couple years late to the party, but this is exactly what I want. Able to rip at speeds that most people just flat out don't think is possible for an RC car, but sane enough to play with regularly.
This has been an awesome series bro, thank you soo much for taking the time to make & share these videos. The timing for this series was impeccable as I had just received my XLX2 that was replacing the MMX 8S I had in my Limitless. I was wondering how I was gonna fit it in the car. I had purchased one of them center brace bar with the mount for the XLX2. Problem was that the body wouldn't fit, & I really didn't want to make a cutout on the body. So I followed your tips with minor adjustments & she dropped in nicely. The QS8 connectors are awesome, no more sparks like I had with the EC5s. Just took the car out for a quick short shakedown run to make sure everything was solid. Hit 93mph, 7.8HP, 192A, at only 63% throttle. The car ran nice & super straight. And I even had the gyro disabled due to issues that I was having, so I'm impressed with how straight it ran. I'm sure the perfect pass definitely helped too along with the toe & camber tuning tips you provided. Just have to tweak a minor front height adjustment & she'll be ready for the fast full power run, hopefully I can hit the 140sh. Thanks again bro, you rock!! 😎 👍👍
Awesome bro, loved this whole 7 part build series and all you've shared tips tricks etc, much appreciated and from me personally it's helped me know end so I thank you 😊
Thanks for sharing all this info with us Raz! You’re awesome! Are you still running standard bearings? Watched the videos and didn’t see you replace them but I want to make sure I didn’t miss it.
Amazing raz. Just to let you know your helping us a lot, Thank you, I've been trying to get over 140mph, roads in new Zealand a not good for grp s5 or any other tyre, we only get 3 runs they keep blowing around 130mph, so this summer I'm going to hire drag strip, we like to get to the 150mph, though your help it's possible and again I say thank you 😊
I really enjoyed this series of building this car. It taught me of some better ways to build my limitless and the way the antennas were routed was so much cleaner and a great idea compared to what I did. Great tips and love learning and watching to keep learning.
Great series, crazy how far the channel improved in such short time. I've been watching since the hour long video you made a while back about speedrun tips... Quick question, was the gyro gain on 25 % on these runs?
Man, i built a limitless and just 1 hour ago, i installed a 34t/34t hear setup. Its crap weather here in Alaska so i.cant try it out right now so i sat here and watched all your build videos on this and you taught me a few setup tricks i didnt know. I really appreciate the series. Thank you so much. I will let you know my stats when i can run it.
Wow! Great final of a very cool and informative series! Everyone should know now how to ask when it comes to speedbuilds!!! 👍🏻 Love to watch all your content and looking forward for next 🤘🏻I think there are a few miles more in the limitless 🏎💨
Awesome build. I'm going to build this car next after I get my 100mph X-Maxx build done, it's a beast getting to 100mph, lol. You should try an X-Maxx next. 👍😉 💯🇨🇦👈🤠
A great snd epic journey I started watching last week and your finally at the end 😅 I watched them all snd really enjoyed your quest for speed. Thanks for sharing your tips I learnt a couple of things snd I thank you 🙏 for them. Looking forward to your next project? Excellent stuff keep up the need for speed 🏎💨 👍
As you were building this car I was building my Infraction. I did add new parts in stages to learn more of how each item effects the run and now I'm going to put Perfect Pass on to help my throttle issues. Currently I've been able to get my Infraction up to 130mph on 6S using one CHNL battery. 😀Thank you for the secrets on getting up to 148mph.
Just before you started this series, I bought a used Limitless roller, mm8x, and a 1717 motor. Plus a Ripple Killer cap pack. Just now finding the time to start my build.
I already know what I want to do in life! I will become a speedrunner 😁🤘 A great series that encourages speedrun. Maybe the second season? How to reach 160mph 😉 Other tires, ESCs, aerodynamics ... Something about choosing the place, the surface, the effects of weather conditions. Or maybe leave something for others to discover ... 🙃
Love this build project, I'm saving these videos to review, you've inspired me to build a limitless of my own. I don't know where to run it but I'm gonna build it anyways 😉 😁 👍God speed
Great build series Raz, I learned a lot. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I've got a limitless with the Castle 1717 1650Kv and a Castle MMX8S, I also bought and installed a 6S ripple killer. I'll be running 6S 99% of the time. My goal was just a solid reliable 100mph without having to worry about heat. I'm currently running the stock gearing but have a 35T pinion and a 30T pinion on order (just to experiment with). Currently I'm showing 84mph but am probably letting off before max speed. Do you think the ripple killer is needed with the MMX8S ESC? I don't know much about them. I have the CastleLink but haven't checked any data logging yet as I don't think I'm pushing the system much. I may gear it up once in a while for fun but for now the speed is pretty good for me as I'm pretty new to pavement speed runs. Thanks again, keep the great videos coming.
Hell yeah that’s awesome for a fresh build I’ll definitely be saving all these build videos for a future build thanks raz!! ❤️ I don’t want a record I just want a fast car 😂
Awesome series Raz! I watched them all multiple times and learned a ton of great info. Will be making some of these changes to my limitless. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge my friend!!! Also, will we see another episode of the student/teacher series that you started???
I just built a limitless. Same motor/esc set up. I got into the 140s with nothing but gearing changes. Only cf pieces I use are the drive shaft and chassis brace. The limitless is an animal.
Hell yes Raz!! I've heard guys talking trash on your using gyros and I think it's super lame. I'm here for cutting edge speed tech and your it buddy!! Cheers!! Ordering Raz shafts and perfect pass ASAP
Hi Raz and thanks for putting this series together. Like many, I'll be building along with you. I'll be using a Castle B-Link as part of the set-up? Have you covered this in any of your past set-ups?
So, I'm only 2:45 into the video. Lipo Batteries do best when you have 4 to 5 runs on them. When I got my Thunder Power Reaper 8200 batteries, the instructions said to put 3 or 4 battery cycles on the batteries at low amp draws before putting the screws to them. I did this as instructed. They are the best batteries I have used in a very long time. I ran an experiment with cheap Amazon batteries. They are 6000 50c and are like $18 each. I bought 8 of them. I ran 4 out of the box. Charged them and put them in my Arrma Kraton 4s. Ran them 4 or 5 times and I got about 5 to 6 minutes run time out of each pair. On the other 4, I charged them up and did a 10 amp dump on them 5 times. I then charged them up and ran on the same Kraton 4s with no changes. I got 8 minutes run time out of them. The first set of 4 has died on me but the 2nd set of 4 are still going strong for what they are. I will always cycle my batteries before putting them in a car. I hope this helps someone out there.
When manufactured the batteries 'formed' by doing steady charge and discharge cycle the best are "formed" with greater attention to specification and profile this would be expected. The price is more for the tested and spec'ed out packs ya get what ya pay for. Then there is knowing how to get the most from everything. great post
This VERY informative and I appreciate it. But it'd be great if someone did this with the stock gearing Felony, some of us like the big tire look and just want 120-30mph set up that doesn't involve changing diffs 😢
The gauge of wire ? stick with and get the battery that matches the application have a battery match controller then gear to match "safe" currents and voltage drop makes for durable builds check yes on that!. how about the count on successful builds sound off plz. Thank You Raz nice job on every level keep inspiring the nation!.
thank you for this video and for the whole build series...im new to speed runs and just learning...my question is....what if i only use hobbywimg max 5 combo? what is a better motor? 1650 or 1100? and why dont you use hobbywing? thank you
Did we lower the rear droop at all ? Thank you for taking the time. I completed this build with you step by step watching each video about 3 times lol.
Raz, Love your videos. But the one thing that bugs me is that you think that raising your transmitter over your head makes a difference? Go on Google and put in the numbers for a right angle. Lifting the transmitter over your head might gain you one to two feet of range. Being a pilot, I figured you would think of that.
U said SMC is the better in ur option as long as its not stored in humid climates. What if u live somewhere where it's stupid humid and hot all the time. Would u recommend one of the others
