Really good info. I'am waiting on a robin mini on its way from them right now,.was kinda in a rush and didn't order any band material sure I'll go back as they have some cool stuff,them an sumeike I agree great in warmer temps!
I bought a Sniper Sling Ace, and also a 12-pack of the 0.5mm yellow bands. I really like these bands and have put them on several other of my slingshots. The ones that aren't banded up with the SS yellow have SimpleShot 0.5mm or 0.7mm bands. Now that cold weather is approaching it will be interesting to see if SniperSling or SimpleShot bands work better in the cold. I usually use a short draw, but watching your videos has tempted me to try a longer draw. I'm going to try out your 22-14 taper too.
Snipersling is my #1 bands but in my testing and in every day life, simpleshot is the best cold weather bands I have ever shot. I'm glad I can help people with these videos. Thanks brother 🙏
Yeah exactly what I meant In the video. Most brands of .6 it's not worth the pull for little speed gain or most times loosing some speed but this stuff is different.
I hear ppl say that but iv never had that issue. I do know that they are very tie sensitive. As in too tight will cause early failure and too loose as well. I know all bands are this way but you know what i mean. I also had a big stock of it so all my stuff is older until this next order comes in.
@@ChuckinSteel I've had the same bandset on my leather tabbed catty since you recommend it to me , its lost a few fps but still very capable, they last forever with tabs , must be getting on for a year
@MAN OF KENT CATAPULTS AND GUNS that's awesome, I shoot .5 which isn't quite as tough but I still rarely have a tear at the pouch. I normally will start getting flyers here and there and that tells me they are getting wore out so I change them. They are softer than most brands but If you tie them correctly (or use tabs) they last me for a very long time. It does take some figuring out on how to tie them to get them to last. I'm not saying Zwillenfink didn't tie them correctly bc I did get a roll once that wasn't as tough. You guys get what I mean. Lol 😆 I know the man knows exactly what he is doing..👊
Yeah man they are smoking fast, when I shoot it, I can't tell much of a difference between it and the .5, I mean there is a difference but not very much. Iv notice once your above 280fps they all shoot really flat for a pretty good ways. I think I would see the difference in my long distance shooting for sure
Snipersling 0,9 has also a nice draw and is very fast, i shot little bit over 450fps with 8mm steel, i want to order 0,7 in hope that it goes even faster with a much lighter draw, does anyone knows from experience if this expectation is realistic ore not?
@@ChuckinSteel thanks *many shooters don't like thicker bands for increased drawweight and lower speed, i also didn't liked it for that, but i orderd 0.9 for 68cal+ clay and randomly tried to make thinner cuts for small ammo and it was great, same drawwheight and even higher speed as with thinner and wieder cuts, but the thin cut had some satisfying properties for me, since that i prefer thicker latex, even for. 177 bbs i prefer a 0.7 band (fe. 5-3 cut) than a 0,4 (10-6) the permomance feels much nicer and efficient to me that way and i get much more bandsets out of a role Can highly recommend to anyone to try who stayed away from thicker bands in the past
That is kind of a hard question to answer. The bands generate the speed, and the speed depends on the band choice with taper and length plus the weight of the projectile. I can tell you what I hunt with. I use snipersling .5 290mm long cut at a 22-14 taper with 9.5 or 3/8 steel. I get about 300fps. I wish I could answer better than that, but I can't.
Yes. I thought my crony was messing up but I shot my .5 over it and was shooting 292fps. What surprised me is it didn't change much if I held it for a few seconds or just pulled and released. I shot .6 precise off camera and only got 290fps and it was a tuff draw.
Good video. Could you hunt with these bands if you wanted to? Consistently. Or would you go for something else? I use 10mm steel, i thought maybe 0.6 yellow is too light? Perhaps go for 0.7? Thanks 😊
@@ChuckinSteel Awesome. Yeah my draw length is 29 inches anchoring at my face. Reason i wanted .6 yellow was because i wanted an all around band that can handle both 8mm steel and 10mm steel. Based on your assessment sounds like it will do the job. 🙂
@eddy I think that would work and probably get by with less. The 8mm, I would try 18-12. This stuff is really fast and easy to draw. I shoot 22-14 mostly and I feel like it would throw 11mm about 250 fps but I shoot butterfly. I think you could use this to great affect with 11mm. Thanks for watching and commenting 👊
@@WannaBeMedic73 you cant find a better cold weather band in my opinion. Iv took many of critter with it. In fact I took a rabbit at 60 yds with 9.5 and smoked all the way through its noggin. 🐇 🍖 😋
