I love the chill, matter-of-fact attitude. Tutorials get a little exhausting when so many hosts yell at the camera with fake enthusiasm, almost trying to turn the viewer into a child with overdramatic excitement and way over simplified explanations about their basic photoshop tutorial. Everything doesn't always have to feel like an afternoon special for kids you know? This was a nice change, and great info!

Hey - very nice video. Cool tips and tricks. One thing I saw that I might do differently: When you went to remove the black 'outline' around the product (5:00 or so into the video), I've found that using the mask selection, you can use a combination of Contract (by 1-2px) + Feather to get the same effect as the brushing you were doing. Should be a lot quicker and a similar result!

what if you use something like a gaussian blur for the background instead of adding noise? Just wondering what that would do. I think that would make sense, but i'd have to see it I guess. Great info in this video, I learn a lot every time! Thanks for sharing!!!

@workphlo

Luke, may I apologize for missing this comment and give you the answer 3 months late? My tripod head is of poor quality and slowly lowers if the camera is in portrait orientation. So I sacrificed resolution here, to ensure the layer will line up in post for the product edit. (-:
