As I always say, goose, you make the best video content about gaming. Every video is like a History channel documentary. You're just so damn good and you've made mark rutzou a mini celebrity. I support you, goose.
6:59 I love how crusty it looks. The static, the line sweeping down, double vision, rainbow moiré, complete glitching out. It's just awesome to behold!
I think ZFG frequently mentions that the first ever recorded single segment 100% ocarina of time speedrun is lost. The run was about 7 hours by him and it was recorded on a DVD that is nowhere to be found. I think he also said that the only thing that remains of that run is a short clip of him accidentally triggering the hyrule field glitch during the run
Regarding more videos via lost media: I enjoyed watching it but more importantly, if you enjoy making it I think you should do it. A lot of times our work is better if we're passionate/having fun while doing it. Good stuff, as usual.
@@HonkeyKongLive There are still uses for cash. In my life it's mainly vending machines and shopping trollies, and small purchases. At lot of shops here don't take cards for purchases under £5, and there are no notes smaller than £5, so coins are still very useful.
Great production and such a great story, you all world record GE runners are epic and we wouldn't know so much without you Goose. Truly thank you man for your vids over time
I had the titular line in Star Wars, but Lucas cut it from the final film. We were riding on the back of the Millennium Falcon when I said "man, I'm tired of all these Star Wars." It's true. Lost media
@@danielsutherland2599 I also did this a few times but ughh, it is such a hassle the next day to find the part till where you were still paying attention before falling asleep... well , if you are like me and actually want to see the full thing hehehe
I remember back in the VERY early days I was trying to get under par times in Goldeneye and I wanted to see how it was done. I got Wouter to send me some videos over MSN and I remember being more impressed by a bonus video of Facility 00 in 2:04 video than the actual record video because it was so close to the par time.
@@GamerFolklore yeah, and a lot of those marathon streams he did were just legendary in general. I believe they was the most watched thing on twitch at certain points. It also set the scene for the m64 grind we've seen ever since. Such a shame to think that this history is limited to our memories.
This is probably the first lost media video on RU-vid where the person who made the video is sort of the reason why the media is lost in the first place. Not that I think Goose should feel personally responsible for it.
It's kinda weird that a record is taken down when there's been an accepted proof for years that disappears one way or another. I get that the records should be available at any time and not allow situations where someone uploads a record, gets it accepted and deletes it from further review, but caverns 1:01 was up for years for review and had no controversy around it, so it feels like incomplete solution to remove the record from the site. I guess it depends on the perspective if you want the leaderboards to be fully accurate to proven competition, or also preserve the history of competition. I believe there are nuances even inside rigid rule system where never proven, cheated and now lost recordings have different treatment between each other.
I hate Lost Media... There once was a mashup of "Mining Melancholy" from DKC2 mixed with a Deltron 3030 song called "Mastermind"... It was on RU-vid for a few years, but it's gone... I have it on a burned CD in my car, but the CD is a bit scratched, so the song is quite broken... Maybe some freak (like me) who downloaded it a few years back still has the mp3? It only had like 3k views I think... 😭 The chance is small, but if I don't ask here, where else! ✊ And great video ofc, like always. 👍 To help ppl remember: Donkey Kong Country 2 OST - Mining Melancholy: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bWL6bnXv9wU.html Deltron 3030 - Mastermind: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O7dyli_nXn4.html
@@GamerFolklore ahh another example, sad to hear that :( Speaking of Fresh Prince mashups, my ringtone for the past decade is "The Fresh Prince of Super Mario Land" 😂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dRBjND_899U.html (even have a 10y old comment there about that lol) Anyways, can't believe you replied. Thanks alot for your videos man! Love your content, keep it up! ✌🦢
19:03 and yea whats even more lul is that apparently the way-back-machine did make a copy (one, the only one)! of that link (/watch?v=uz1gxSI069w) very shortly after that: on may 4 - 2015 - when it already wasnt available anymore 😆
Will you play Project 007 and did you ever play a Hitman or watch a speedrun of it? Since the developers of Project 007 released Hitman games for over 20 years now.
@15:40 splice detected! Mark's Caverns 1:01, but the video is only 0:35 seconds??? This video is more fake than your Frigate with rocket launcher ending XD
Oh man, I wonder if it's some unknown guy with some crazy record we never heard ab- >Marc Rutzou Well that kinda lessens the mystery, but I bet it's still a truly remarkable story.
this is only partially why.. with TV stations its more a case of archival space. So they only had certain amount of tapes available due to cost cutting. Once enough time has passed on a old show they are not re-running is decided to basically begin archiving current shows on the air over these old ones. The 80's and 90's was bad for this, for erasing shows from the 50-70's due to cheapness.
I used to speed run a survival horror game for my own amusement around 15 years ago. This was before it was easy to record and share the run. It sucks that even still I look at the record for the highest difficulty and seeing that I had a better time and ranking without really pushing for it back then. I know I’m the best at it, but don’t have the proof..
Yea it's even annoying just play NTSC stuff in a PAL region. With needing different power adapters. Still we can boil a kettle faster than Americans. So it's not all that bad. Just bad for tech well older tech.
