I guess this is somewhat related, but it's not a "childhood memory". When I took a deep dive into Snap64 hi-scores and world records earlier this year, I grinded out a perfect 4700 Gyarados. It had been a long night, so I saved and turned off the game, satisfied with my tied WR, and went to bed. But when I booted up my game the next night, my Gyarados was gone, I had a significantly worse one saved. I assumed I must've forgotten to save from being tired, and lost my PB. When I returned to the grind, I learned something strange: the Switch port of the game has slightly skewed scoring mechanics. Why is this important? Well, supposedly, the perfect 4700 Gyarados is IMPOSSIBLE on the Switch version of the game! I swear on my mama that I got that score, but I can not prove it, and I have been unable to re-achieve it. I feel crazy as I fail over and over again, thinking I must've missed something. But to this day, I still believe it has to be possible. I had to have done it, I just don't know how.
You know Whats Shocking Crazy Now Today?? 😳 Donkey Kong is way More Better than Rise of Kong....🙂 in a way its Great because they can make a DONKEY KONG Game featuring Giant DK from Super Smash bros, and they can Really Allow Giant Donkey Kong to Complete the Levels that Normal Donkey Kong couldn't and they can give the game Graphics and a Storyline that has Mario Brothers and Peach and Giga Bowser story Cannon... i just hope they can make a Donkey Kong Game but make Donkey Kong into a Giant so he can jump Higher and and do more Damage... I still have that Yellow Donkey kong Nintendo 64 Game on My shelf now, i enjoyed it but just wanted more to it
Theres a video here on RU-vid called "6 FACTS AND SECRETS from P.S. you didn't know" and he list Golduck as one of the 63 at the 3:06 mark. So that proves it.....right? 😂...he also has on the list Ponyta, Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon so he can't be wrong!
I think another aspect of this is that the area Psyduck swims around in is so big and intricately designed, it looks like there should be more going on there than there is.
hmm, this proves one of my personal believes about unfairness of society, if someone popular or succesful makes literal crap, people would still like that, if a no-one makes something decent, it does not generate any reaction.
Dk64 is destined to bring amazing playthroughs. The Outsyder did an over 9 hour video of DarksydePhils This Is How You Don't Play, and it's one of the most hilarious videos ive ever watched.
I remember Golduck and Ninetales actually. Ninetales had nothing to do with the lava though, I vaguely remember something like not being able to get a good picture of it because it was laying down with the tails covering it making it hard to get a picture unless you made it get up. Maybe this was a different Pokemon like Growlithe? or a major false memory from some other game or something. I also remember Persian? Golduck was definitely at that stump. AND i remember a Pidgeotto. I feel like I played a completely different Snap. Next you're gonna tell me Jigglypuff doesn't put a pokemon to sleep, I saw this happen, I know it happens!
I think my favorite part of this story, other than Wouter knowing Marsh's video was all in good fun, is that 13:37 is still an insane timeframe for 101% on this game. I get that's the point of speedruns, but the fact he accomplished that time even with at least 50-ish minutes worth of mistakes is incredible.
