Collecting an item for every letter of the alphabet dictated by a funny wheel. It could had been so much worse. My Socials! Twitch: / thehaboo Discord: / discord
I told my husband about this video, and that he re-spun the wheel for E because he didn't want to play the entire game and get every achievement. My husband thought it wouldn't be so bad because he'd probably aquire just about everything possible and make the rest of acquiring alphabet items easy. To which I said "you'd think, but he makes a new farm for each letter of the alphabet." He said "oh. Does he HATE himself??" Well, not enough to play for the Elegant Turban apparently 😂
That would take away a lot of the challenges tough. At letter D he unlocks ginger island and if he gets another ginger island item it would be very easy or he would maybe already own the item. Such as egg or wool
@@brindleface9316but it would turn it into a "bingo" style challenge. a speedrun where the end goal is randomly generated by this alphabet wheel would actually be really interesting
yeah this would have been suchhhhh a cool challenge if he made essentially a 'bingo board' with the 26 objects on it that he could stamp off as he got them. roll them all at the beginning and play the world to try to get all those items. Having to build a unique specific strategy to get through the game for whatever was rolled. That would have been incredible. Kind of like how Lilaggy does randomizer elden ring bingo races against speedrunners and stuff. that kind of interface would be excellent for this challenge.
I mean... if he gets a hard challenge early, then he would have everything unlocked for the rest of them later on, which wouldn't be a challenge by that point.
Not to subject you to MORE dumb ideas, but doing this all in one world might have some interesting routing decisions. As close to a Randomizer as this game could get. Wouldnt be hard at all to cook up a list generator as well
You might enjoy Argon matrix! He is doing this exact thing and streaming roughly 3 times a week to complete the perfection goals in order as dictated by a randomizer! And he can’t complete any other tasks until he’s gotten them. Super great content
I wonder what a true "Alphabet%" run would look like. Lets say the goal is to put an item representing each applicable letter of the Alphabet all in one chest together, and the time stops when the last item is thrown into the designated chest. Lets also assume that the traveling merchant is banned. What items would you go for? Whats the most reliable, fastest ways to get those items? Where on your farm should the chest go to give you the best time? I could be onto something here... I'm probably not, but let a girl dream.
No, no, let's roll with this. I suspect it would turn into a "these 26 (25?) Items specifically because they're the easiest"-run, but still, I want to see at least one SDV RU-vidr have a crack at your idea. 🙂
I’d love concernedape to just add a random xylophone, either as an artefact maybe or a winter star gift like the tea set. Or maybe a xylophone block lol just to make this run work
xylophone could also be a penny/vincent/jas heart event like a little “music class”. could have sebastian and sam come in to help coach WAIT BETTER IDEA IS A VINCENT/SAM HEART EVENT WHERE VINCENT IS TRYING TO LEARN THE XYLOPHONE SO HE CAN PLAY WITH HIS OLDER BROTHER IN THE BAND ONE DAY imagine vincent showing up at the concert heart event ugh
The storyline of the marriage speedrun is weird when you look at it from a npc's point of view. This new farmer just started giving Alex parsnips within days of their arrival, and kept doing it everyday for a year or so until he finally caved and agreed to marry them.🤣
I thought you would roll your entire list of letters beforehand and then try to get them all within one save file as fast as you can :D I'd love to see that version too!
i discovered your channel through your world record speedrun videos, and i would watch them to fall asleep. you are one of my favorite stardew valley content creator, if not the top first. i love your videos so much:)
Spoiler for the letter X below. ... I think Alex is the only one with an X in the name (that can move in), so he was the best fit for the letter anyway!
I am not used to watch speedruns, but I actually enjoying all of ur contents! Tbh, I have some dum speedrun idea. Get every single soup (To reduce confusion, the food must contain word 'soup' in stardew valley item name. So that would be ①Alogae soup, ②Pumpkin soup, ③Trout soup, ④Tom Kha soup, ⑤Parsnip soup) And eat them all. it doesn't matter if you eat it separately during progress, or eat all at once.
I think from a planning/strategy stages point, it works have been more interesting if all 26 items were determined at the start, and this was done in one farm.
so I learnt with this video that apparently winter tilling has a different pattern than clay farming I've just been using the clay farming pattern for winter tilling D:
Alphabet speedrun challenge but its game mechanics, not items eg. all spouses, all professions, unlockable areas, mine types, quests, wanted items, recipes etc. are valid for the wheel.
imo this wouldn't have only been far less painful to just do in the same world, it would have been more interesting as well. that said, great video as always!
yo i found this idea pretty cool so im attempting this in terraria, praying to every known religion i dont roll nymph banner. might be interesting to see you try it in terraria aswell
I wasn't paying attention to the timer very closely so when you said to look at it for how long it took you to get the Nautilus i genuinely thought that one single item took you 16 full hours to get. I didn't realize you were timing the whole thing, i thought you were resettimg the timer per item.
