Speicherstadt & Kaispeicher Gameplay Runthrough 

Historical background: "The Speicherstadt" was a tax free part of the harour in the german city of Hamburg. The game ends with a great fire, because in 1842 a really, really big fire destroyed most of the harbour, some homes and market buildings.

I received The Speicherstadt as a Christmas gift this year! I love it!

I love this game, which always surprises me because I don't usually like auctioning in other games. I have the English version of the game and I had a metal coin as a first player token not a card.

Thanks so much for this play through. I've been tossing up if I should get this or not. Looks like a must buy for me now. I'd also like to say thank you for your other play through a as well. I bought Trajan on the back of one and it is one of our favorite gams. Thanks and keep up the great work. I also love the Euros you seem to like as well. Awesome stuff. Sometimes disappointing though as I am in Australia and some games are hard to get.

This is a fun game, even without the expansion, I bought it at a resell bookstore, I like it more than In the Year of the Dragon in which I get a sense that the game is playing you. On Amazon it is really inexpensive. In the stores it is $50 +/-

My local liquidation store got in a bunch of Z-man games and sold them $7 each OR 4 games for $20. Let's just say, I now own a bunch of Z-man games, including this one. Well worth what I paid. Wouldn't hesitate to pay more.

hello, would it be possible to play without the Kaispeicher expansion but still add the 3 cards on top and use the same rules...I just can't find the expansion

Bummer here was I can't find the expansion to this anywhere at all. Given your review I won't get it without. That said I have a Sydney trip coming up and I am making a list of "games I can't get online". Yeah I pay a premium in store compared to Amazon - but some are worth it. There are a lot of online retailers too but their shipping can be a killer. I generally stick to Amazon. Oh and I meant to ask - are we ever going to meet "Jen" - I love the "what I would do..." From the couch! Go Jen!
