First iCarly compilation! This one mainly shows Spencer getting progressively annoyed with everyone walking into his apartment! Hope you guys enjoy! I also recorded this with my phone, so i did my best to maintain quality!
JustinRide Hey, likely in 2030 (May 22nd, to celebrate Pac-Man’s 50th anniversary), when I make a Pac-Man movie (where the Pac-Man characters are in their designs in Pac-Man World 2), please make a compilation of “Pac-Man gets mad at everyone that walks in”! XD
Trovon Fincher besides that, never even asking if they can come in. Like just asking if it’s ok to come in would be perfectly fine, but they just walk in like they own the place.
To be fair, everyone does waltz right in like they own the place. And Spencer's probably the one who pays rent in his massive 3-story studio apartment.
something something growing up is realizing why he was annoyed when carly's friends crashed st his place, maturing is realizing he'd never actually kick them out because he knew his home was a safe place away from their messed up home lives
@@ms.pirate it's a joke in and of itself because it calls attention to the sitcom trope icarly followed of characters always just walking into other peoples' homes without asking.
Real. A lot of the people in the comments are saying he should get a lock as if he doesn't already have 2 on the front door. It remains unlocked because Spencer hears when Sam talks about how bad her home life is. He also knows firsthand what Freddie's mom is like. The Shay residence might be the only place these kids CAN go to for peace besides maybe the Groovy Smoothie. I think he'd actually be pretty sad if they all stopped coming around.
Tbh his character is surprisingly complex. He is creative and clearly cares about his sister and her friends (and ofc their show) but also needs space to be an adult and sometimes comes off as almost like a single dad archetype lol
He's an older brother in his 20s stuck taking care after his younger sister. Yeah he cares about her but he still hasn't been able to explore being a bachelor etc.
Yeah I love Spencer’s character, especially since I’m the oldest in my family and recently in my 20’s so I sympathize with his story a lil more now. Jerry Trainer just does such a good job with the character it’s a shame I haven’t seen him in many other things
Can we talk about how great Spencer was as a parental figure? Yes, he did crazy and sometimes dangerous artwork. Yes, he got frustrated with a lack of privacy. Yes, he decided to put spaghetti on tacos. But he also made a home for his little sister when their parents left them alone. He sheltered Freddie from his borderline abusive and incredibly invasive mother. He protected Sam from a really shitty home life. Spencer gets written off as this wacky, funny character but he was a young guy who was a father figure to three kids and did a fucking fantastic job making sure they turned out to be decent human beings. A king 👑
He was literally the only reason I watched the show. I loved the episodes when he and Gibby bonded over artwork, because it's some of the few times you see them both really happy
@@d4rksonic474 Wow I didn't realize how Spencer was a father figure to everyone in this show... Now that I think about it, remember how he almost became Gibby's step-father?
This is actually a pretty funny commentary on the sitcom trope of people just letting themselves into their friends houses, and helping themselves to their shit. If that happened in real life, I would think the person was psychotic.
You know when you think about it, Freddy and Sam hanging out at Spencer’s house is darker than you’d thing. Freddy’s mom is crazy and from what we can tell Sam’s household isn’t much better. This apartment was probably the closest thing to a home the two had.
Yeah Freddy’s mom can be SUPER clingy sure and that’s annoying but sams mom was basically never home and she didn’t feed her very much half the time that’s why she’s almost always eating something when she comes over and I think spencer sees that and happily has food for her as well
@@inthujankulasingam5135 he just has to deal with a bunch of entitled misfit kids and provide for them while taking care of his sister on an artist’s budget. he’s surprisingly nice and accommodating for somebody who is reasonably overwhelmed with responsibility.
Actual title: Spencer getting rightfully angry that people are trespassing on his property and rightfully telling them to get out of somewhere they don’t belong all the time
It's an apartment complex, so if I had to guess, either the landlord didn't bother putting a lock on that one, or, even worse, everyone's key in that building works with every door.
I honestly never noticed how angry Spencer was at people just helping himself to his apartment when I was younger, I always saw him as inviting and sarcastic, but in a loving way not a, "gtfo of my house", way.
Makes sense that he's angry tbh. Imagine having a bachelor pad all to yourself and then you let your sister into your home cuz it's whatever, she's your sister but then two more teenagers constantly stay there all day and you've suddenly lost all your privacy lol
@@ky-gp4sz imagine you are at home, just wanna chill and then you little sister bursts through the Door with er Friend with Anger Issues, the Friend that won‘t stop simping for her and sometimes the friend that‘s just dumb and annoying as fuck. And then you also have them to consume all the food and drinks that you bought. It‘s hard to be a Brother and buy food and rent for you and your sister so imagine buying food for 2-3 more people.
He's a mostly failed artist living in one of the most expensive cities in the US (and with one of the most obnoxious hipster populations too) and trying to support an ungrateful sibling on his sole income.
@lumarr burwell Being aggressive/petty but not openly. Like being aggressive would be "Why are you in my house all the time? It's annoying, stop it!" while passive aggressive is like the thing Spencer does here where he doesn't say he's angry but instead makes sarcastic or sassy comments about it that still convey the feeling that he's annoyed.
Carly: “Sam and Freddie are here.” Spencer: “When aren’t they here?” Sam: “Good point.” Freddie: “So true.” - Spencer: “Woah, I almost didn’t recognize you guys *not sitting on my couch* .”
I think if he tried to lock the door, then the lock would malfuction, fall appart or catch on fire. I've seen iCarly enough times to know it can happen. I mean it's Spencer we're talking about. 😅
If random children were constantly slamming into my house and messing with my shit with no boundaries I would also mcfreakin lose it. It’s really a testament to his character that for all that he gets frustrated, he only ever physically lashes out at inanimate objects and gets loud. He never really tells them to leave or actively gets mad at them. Good job you funky little college drop out
Mhm, but it wasn’t aggressive. Just a smack to get his hand away from the bread. He didn’t even push him out of the space, just got him to pull his (dirty) hand away. I do the same thing to my siblings when they attempt to mess with my food :)
It's not just an American thing, it happens in England too. I honestly don't get the problem as even if it is a laugh track (in some shows, it's an audience) they usually happen when the line is at least supposed to be funny - it's not usually like they happen on every word, usually.
@@brunogomes4524 Ah, fair enough. Sorry about that, I just see a lot of people complaining about laugh tracks, and it seems to be an unpopular opinion, but I really like them, so I thought it was more serious. Again, sorry about that.
@@JimmyBoy9878 if you notice, Nickelodeon and disney, most of the children portrayed are very rude, I think the shows purposefully portrays children in that way more "outspoken" and careless because they thought it was funnier and children with "manners" got made fun of. Do you think this format is an unrealistic representation of children?
I didn't even notice this before, but it makes sense since he's an artist and when you're an artist you want personal space, which Spencer hardly ever has.
because thats good writing. And, sadly its what sitcoms are SUPPOSED to be but never are, situational comedy. The situation is that the goofy kids do a comedy show on the internet, and the brother is forced to deal with it. All of it is very natural in premise.
Everyone keeps saying "lock the door" but everyone is clearly forgetting that sam already cut through the lock at one point and that the door has been broken into multiple times even with it locked. Dude's cursed to never have privacy 😂😂😂
when You remember, Freddie has an hovering mother and Sam barely even has a mother. You can understand why they would crash at spencer's like it was their homes.
Everyone's talking about the new comments, but can we just take a minute to acknowledge the fact that everyone's just walking in and out of Spencer's home without his permission????
