I wish there was a Time Machine. I’m an old man, just turned 90. I miss this time. Was a good time to get married and start a family. Youth is so fleeting.
I love the older Movies…Much simpler times..Now a days we have way too Much technology! I’m a Boomer who will be 70 later this year and our world has changed SOO much I almost don’t recognize it anymore…I long for the days that were much simpler where people had manners and morals ..People helping one an other..Respect for children and the Seniors..
I agree with your excellent comment. However, without the new technology, we wouldn't be watching this gentle, wonderful movie - on you tube, and in color. The first time I saw this movie, "Father's Little Dividend," I rented it on VHS, and it was in black-and-white. I love black-and-white movies, but - this film certainly looks beautiful in color, doesn't it? When Ted Turner started colorizing old movies in the 80s, I was against it. Changing the original work of art was wrong, on principle, I believed. I still believe this, and yet, at the same time, this movie and the first three seasons of Bewitched look terrific now, in color. Two things can be true. We're fortunate to have all this terrible technology. Without a time machine, we can still enjoy the earlier times through you tube and streaming platforms. Have a lovely day. July 14, 2024
Saw this movie in black and white and have looked for it for years. Spencer Tracey is wonderful & funny which made me laugh.😂very enjoyable to watch in color now and think that I was in my early 30’s when I viewed it ; now am 60. Movies just are not made like this anymore.😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
This film is so funny. I loved it. Laughing the whole time. "She can't run to you everytime we have argument."...."what do you want me to do...move??"🙂
I’m an in my 80s and send a big thanks for giving me such pleasure through these lovely old films. Sadly unless you buy all for folks like me is violence and too dark to see films.what a great Sunday you have given me. Pure Nostalgia. Again thanks a million.
I am 69, and I love these old movies… And I once dreamed of getting married, pregnant, and becoming a mother, with all the hoopla and showers that these movies portrayed! ( Loving the clothes and decor, btw!). Alas, ‘twas not meant to be, for me, anyway… But, it was nice to dream… and, of course, Spencer, and Liz were wonderful actors, and a total real life was not written into the scripts, making them relatively one-sided!! Wonderful movie!!
Yes. You have the link in the description box to the black and white version. In most colorized movies. Here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-86ELIeyTBmU.html
Thank you for the subtitles! I don't speak English very well. I love old movies and watch them with great pleasure. They are like an island of peace, prosperity, joy, humor and faith in a happy future. I still hope that humanity will understand that planet Earth is our common home. Have a great viewing everyone. 😍
QUE PELICULA TAN BELLA..LO MEJOR DE ESE CINE QUE NO VOLVERA..GRACIAS MIL X COMPARTIRLA..EXCELENTE ACTUACIÓN DEL ABUELO Y BELLA LA INOLVIDABLE LIZ TAYLOR😊👏👍
I absolutely l-o-v-e this movie! Spencer Tracey fit the role perfectly and he was such a hoot! Liz Taylor was so very lovely and pretty Joan Bennet reacted just as I did when my late husband and my first and only grandchild was coming! I called everybody I knew, so gloriously happy was I!
I have seen this movie a lot of times but the quality and definition ion this copy its really amazing 1851 looks like 2024 thank you for uploading and sorry about my English Im not a native speaker 😊
What a wonderful historical treasure!! Now 73 years old, more than 1/2 century. Elisabeth Taylor as a young, beautiful woman, Spencer Tracy with his unique manner, a warm atmosphere among everyone, etc. - However, 1951 is only 2 years after the war, a lot of things in Germany were still in ruins and ashes and in chaos. - what a contrast.
❤I wish i had a dad like that. Never got to meet my dad but this father cracks me up😅😂 Thankfull for my mother though, my spoilled but still runs home when things become too much.😂

Sir to life in these time....is very weary!! Most young people dont wants to settle down....just enjoying themselves!!! This period of the 60/70 s was really about starting families....so true ..so true!!
Einfach toll. 🥰
Sweet little film with the glorious Spencer Tracy. Joan Bennett as mother and Liz Taylor as daughter were born the same day, February 27th, 22 years apart. And looked so much alike. Color was HORRID,
Mil y mil gracias
11 minutes in, the mother tells her husband how the daughter is the same-ish age that she was when she had a baby. The mother is happy to be a grandmother. The father is having a crisis. He doesn’t want to be a grandfather. - the father has never truly held it harshly to him to be a father, the mother left school, changed her life, devoted herself to raise his children and she feels like a mother for 20 years. Not saying the man’s hardship in childbearing is easy but come on, he just enjoys talking to his sons in pride. And sees his daughter as something to possess. He is turned into a grandfather, he is shocked because he still doesn’t want to claim fatherhood. He is a avoidant father and person in the family.
Liz Taylor's doll face calls my attention, of course. But, what amazed me from the beginning is this job with motion and image that makes a film produced more than 70 years ago look so new. I'd love to see this done with some Chaplin movie.
Joan Bennett was born to be a star. She was so beautiful, so intelligent and so personable. My favorite actress from the Golden Era and that's mighty high praise indeed!
came here for Joan Bennett, but I probably won't finish it because I can't stand baby stuff and all the fuss females make over them, so I guess I'm team grand dad 😅
