Honestly these videos just make me want to go find them and mess with them, and I have ZERO interest in this game or most of what he posts. But the reactions.. that's better than 99% of video games.

In order for that to a better form of escapism than anything else, it needs to go exactly how they imagine it should go. The slightest deviation is a reality check and takes that immersion away from them, which in turn also takes the power, ego, confidence and distraction from problems away. It's their safe space that turns into a toxic reliance on RPing to get that sense of power and satisfaction. And over time it gets worse. I'm a Clinical Psychiatrist, this is genuinely tame compared to certain people I've met.
Coming in and saying “I’m on a mission from Yoda” was a perfect RP opportunity for them and they sent you to jail instead. They treat these RP servers like a Yahoo chat room.
@@SirFlooberisBecause these people get so incredibly absorbed into this that they have: "correct" roleplays. It needs to be just like the movies, comics, or games. And if not, then it takes them out of the "realism" and that destroys their immersion. It's literally the least serious thing taken too seriously.
@@Ghreyl As someone who plays on the server I agree with all but the last statement, there are plenty of times where people goof off and just spawn in a dupe of something like a COD zombies map or hold a constant PvP FFA in one of the rooms.
I mean why can't they go with the RP of someone just trying to BS their way into unrestricted sections. Ok it's Star Wars but they're still humanoids there, so there will be con artists.

Keep in mind that Jedi Padawans are ranked commanders in the Grand Army of the Republic, and the clone who Bub Games was arguing with was a sergeant, so he absolutely had the right to order him to salute him. This rp server doesn’t even follow the canon rules.
Not all padawans and as well knights and masters were ranked within the grand army. There was a special branch of the jedi, one had to join to be an jedi representative officer in the military.
God the way he was talking about the Jedi and his connections just started making me think of a Star Wars version of brokeback mountain lmao. Part of me wonders if he was playing it up on purpose.
It's sad as hell, Garry's Mod use to be just a fun chaotic source engine sandbox, now its just all P2W, pedos, power tripping admins, and overly-serious roleplayers compensating for their lack of employment, education, and romance in their real life.

they didnt roleplay at all, they refused to salute him when hes a jedi, he literally was a higher rank than every clone on the server and they still refused to salute lmfaoo.
Funnier? There's less actual content the more time goes on. He used to interact with people for the entirety of the video. Now he just gets banned as quickly as possible then complains for another 6 minutes
This is how it used to be, in the old times. Not a phone in sight, just people living in the moment. One of my most fun RP interactions was being kidnapped by Antlion sympathizers and ransomed to the mayor for gold. Another time I was acting suspiciously around the Italian Mob's pizzeria and inadvertently started a shootout between them and the cops when one of them threatened me with a gun - in the chaos they assumed I was one of them and took me to their secret hideout, shit was fun. Then along came darkrp, power-tripping 15-year old admins, servers with about as many rules as the US legal system making every interaction completely inorganic - then later down the line, heavily monetized shit like this. Gmod RP had lost its soul by 2008.

@@milk1472 not really on a base like that the jedi are considered guests they do have the rank of commander but its looked down apon to flex it on the clones like that. its the same reason as when ashoka was acused in the cones wasr tv show anakin could not just order them to let her out even if he was there commander. also shock is its own thing

Its a great blend of "You paid so much money to have the opportunity to become part of the server and its hierarchy itself" directly followed by "we absolutely have no attachment and will remove it without question if you dont log in for a week" I mean christ, for $700 dollars that role better be fucking permanent, or atleast have a grace period of one year inactivity.

The only clones padawns don't outrank are the commanders. Jedi Knights outrank every single clone unless a higher hierarchy Jedi steps in and tells otherwise. And the guy who was talking with bub was a Sergeant, which means they're no shit.

Not always, only if you're assigned to the battlefield. Commanders have the same ranking as the padawans, Jedi Knights are the real shit, if they say something, no one will question it.
