Imagine raising a child, nurturing them and setting them up to have a good future only for them to go on to spend 50K of their own expendable income on Gmod.
i mean if they have 50k in expendable income good on them i guess? What would really be sad is if they took a loan out just to spend more money on Gmod.
My theory, based on the sheer grammatical error and childlike desire to be a “secret spy”, is that this is the kid of someone rich so just keeps setting his kid a few grand. At least that’s what I want to believe cus no way is this an adult, if it is I don’t know how they got all that money with the writing skills of a 9 year old
@@theboogerbomb I mean its their money but Christ-there's so many better things you can get with 50k. Pay mortgage, buy a car, donate to charity, hell upgrade your desktop. Pretty much anything else is better than wasting money on a g-mod server.
i refuse to believe that that amount spent was real though. the server owner probably donated the $46,000 as a tax writeoff or something weird like that
@@buphoon1452Nah, I used to play on that server and he genuinely spent that much money on that server. The entirety of the community slobber on his nuts because of the money he’s given them

I think this is significantly worse tbh. The verbalase video at least got him some attention at MOST. This guy did this, and made this choice, in private, knowing full well tis something he wanted. No benefit other than THIS.

@@splashykoy11 i know a guy in his mid 20s, makes really good money. This past year alone he has spent 38 thousand dollars on legos. In total his lego collection in his basement costs more than his 400 thousand dollar house. When i asked him if he even plays with them he said no. Sometimes he pays someone else to build them so he can situate them in his little world down there. I asked what he plans on doing with the collection; he said at some point he's going to sell it to a collector. I tried to explain that HE would be 1 of the very few collectors with a collection this big in the world. He wasn't hearing it. He thinks it's going to be worth millions at some point. Telling him that they won't does nothing to change his spending habits. This guy is my brother. He's got the mentality of a hoarder and always has. He'll never sell his collection. He'll never play with his collection. He'll never have kids that will play with that collection and if he DID have kids? He'd never let them touch it. When people make enough money that they feel they're already saving a sizable amount of money each year; they tend to just waste the rest. He has no hobbies, He has no addictions, This is how he wastes his extra money.

@@Bobo-ox7fj I agree but only to an extent. There’s plenty of people who RP in games just to troll and or have fun, it’s not like every person doing a good RP is miserable.

Another thing I still remember from one of Gaminglights server, the SCP server. There was a kid who admitted to another member that they got graped over a hockey table, the member recorded this admission and that kid got constantly harassed and made fun of by full-grown men. It was horrible, they made custom classes named "hockey table" and everything. Only recently was that CC taken down, not bc it was making fun of a minors SA experience, but because of inactivity.
Yea I agree with you its not even funny its legitimate mental illness. Its sick the admins just let him spend all of that money for their shitty gmod server.
@@joshdowden8085 Why does he need to show proof? It's not that hard to believe these servers make bank off of this. A community with a bunch of members can easily reach 100k in a few months or less

Bro who gives a shit lol, let the autists spend money how they want. Least it's not toy trains or a massive marble collection they could choke on. Also, did I just watch Bub pay $200 for custom jobs on some rp server that he's literally making fun of people for buying? Wtf am I seeing?
friend of mine ran a server called ice fuse with his buddy and all in it cost around 750-1k per month they were making around 10k per month in donations. My friend said at some point you have to realise there are people who are actively looking to waste their money. At first ppl were just giving them money for nothing just to support them, then they started offering small things and the donations exploded the more random things they added to buy the more people bought them. In reality this kind of salethrough is commonplace in the digital asset world. I do believe allowing for large value donations or purchases for a digital product is immoral, I don't think anyone should be spending that kind of money on a video game.
@@user-jk5bg6mh5q tell me you know nothing w/o telling me. I can't tell what is scarier, that people are gouging people this much money for a custom job in an RP server or that someone has $50k of disposable income to spend on it
I like to imagine that some rich Russian oil tycoon is sitting in his penthouse and pretending to be a big boobed FBI lady to impress a bunch of 13 year olds.
Man, I knew RP servers were crazy but this really takes the cake. Very well made video and highly informative. Hopefully this will help folks learn a thing or two.
Crazy thing is, this isn't even that out of the ordinary for RP servers. My experience with them came from a brief foray into GTA RP, before I realized what a fuckin' racket that is (don't worry, I never spent any money).

Dude, you should do more investigative work like this. I was actually super interested to see how down bad these people are. Insane what people will spend of fuckin Gmod
These people are making you charge ludicrous prices for what you can get on the workshop for free, there is definitely some sort of issue with people who spend this much money on this kind of stuff.
Just in job packages, he spent 650 USD a month for 4 and a half years straight. The additional 10 grand (to be generous) comes out to about ~185/month totaling 835 every single month on gmod police rp. The man has a serious problem and I sorta feel for him. Sorta
Yeah seeing that job description kinda shows that there is something wrong with the person in the head - either too attached to fictional stuff in videogames to compensate for lack of emotional feedback from his family, friends etc. or some other issue he's trying to "solve" with insane amount of money.
