I agree with most of the comments having had mine for a similar period. Out of interest. I upgraded to braided lines and sintered pads. Brakes are very good now. The biggest gripe is the Suzuki spin app which loses contact with your phone. I installed a separate Zumo XT using the Evo performance bracket. With these 2 issues resolved, I love this bike!

I own a GT and put about 7000 miles on it over the summer. Surprised to hear you have engine buzzing over 8K?? Mine is very smooth up to red line. I do have a slight vibration around 5000-5500 but it goes away once you hit 6K and its smooth from there. Maybe have your bike checked or see if you can ride another GT to compare it.

I've been riding sport bikes sense 1992 on and off and now they are too uncomfortable for me now to ride, this is the perfect replacement for what I want in a motorcycle comfortable and a sporting pedigree. I'll be getting one this year and look forward to riding more as my current bike is too uncomfortable to ride for any distance. Brake pads tires and suspension will be the first upgrades.

Good honest review. It bugs me that heated grips aren’t standard (or why Suzuki don’t offer a ‘SE’ or ‘TE’ model with a few extras for a bit more money). Those Oxford heated grips look awful. I did a deal with my Suzuki dealer when I bought my V-Strom 1050 XT and got the OE heated grips fitted, they have 3 settings and work really well. Regarding the cruise control switch on the right, it’s never bothered me - I just start the bike, press the button and ride off. When I want to set the speed it’s just 1 press of the left switch & then to turn it off, roll the throttle forward (or obviously touch either brake). So you never have to press it again. It keeps the left switchgear less cluttered.
@MianCowell

Always go R&G for my heated grips, look so much nicer.
@bobcuyt4675
@bobcuyt4675 Год назад
weird. My dealer (Belgium) offered me exactly that: a upgrade kit with heated grips, tank protector, taller wind screen, paddock stand fittings (forgot the english term),… He had to mount the pieces himself, so I now wonder if this was really genuine Suzuki, or some after-market, cobbled together kit. I will ask next time around ;)
@allwheeldrive

I've got those grips on my V1K XT and - if installed properly! - look just fine, and for less than $115. They also work incredibly well. Even with five settings, I've never had to use more than L3, even in 40-degree temps. And the GT+ in the US includes the hard cases for $650 more. After I put a few more miles on my XT - if I fit well enough - I'll be looking hard at the GT+.

Suzuki just has the most negative bike comments of all the full size bike companys. But they dont deserve it. Their bikes lack a thing or two but they have great engines, extra reliable and fun to ride. So much so that I had 3 of them and went for KTM 1290 SAS in 2022 and few months ago it got stolen and for 2023 I ordered new regular Vstrom 1050 now that it will have quickshifter. It is not about money, I could order another 1290 but I missed Vtwin spound and character of Suzuki, sure Akrapovic will be on it from the start.

I own this bike and chose it over the Ninja for a few reasons. I did not want another black bike for one. I thought my 2014 Ninja 1000 was a lot of work in the turns and they have not dramatically changed the frame, suspension, or engine since then. The only thing I don't much like is the styling. And not because it's bad, but because it doesn't look like a Suzuki. It's got so much Yamaha in the aesthetics that it's jarring to me. I really hope that this isn't the direction that all future Suzuki will take... it's bad enough that the new GSX-S1000 is a KTM knock-off.

Like many bikes following this mech-looking design aesthetic, they will not age well. None of them are pretty. "Exciting", maybe. But that's not going to foster a long-term relationship 😐. Put the V100 Mandello next to any transformer bike and it's pretty obvious.

Excellent review. 👍 I bought a 2022 GSX-S1000GT+ (taller screen) in september 2022. I love it. My only complaints, tires are (Roadsport II) not that sticky and the profile on the rear tire 190/50-17 doesn't help leaning the bike when riding in sharp twisties ("sag" & damping properly ajusted). I will replace the rear tire with a different profile/size 190/55-17 when it's time to replace the tires. 😁

In reality this bike is simply a modern Bandit. Which is good, because I am a huge Bandit 12 fan. 1) Almost ALL bikes need suspension re-do, at minimum - springs. 2) I dislike the headlights - in the US one headlight out of two shining signifies a burned-out bulb. Also, their tiny DIAMETER means you will be less-seen in the daytime, despite being bright; on-coming drivers will not see you in heavy traffic, nor will the many, many DEER we have.

I have road 4s on my GSXR750. I like them, but they are not as good as the Power cups I had prior. the Power cups are pure fear on wet pavement. The road 4s are amazing on wet. good on dry but not great. Always a trade.

So... You like the panniers, but also hate them because they are fiddly? And you hate the throttle response, while admitting that you never used the power modes? Love the engine, but hates the vibrations at the same time? Very strange review.

Bonne continuation

Being 5'6", her opinions on comfort, windscreen are mostly irrelevant for most men. I'm 6'1" and concerned about comfort. If the skid marks screen puts wind in her face, it will put it in my chest. I was hoping to get under wind. Like I think I can do on concours 14. And I would be more leaned forward due to my height-so more weight on wrists. Can't find anywhere to take test ride on one in US near Baltimore.

Don't think it's up to the quality of the Kawasaki , paint its such a deep quality, can't adjust the clutch lever no adjustments on the screen basic handle bars look cheap, don't like the single head light on two looks better, I've had 8 suzuki motocyes of many years but the kawasaki for me is a better machine the 1st I've owned,

no more suzuki for me😢 i've had two GT ;s😢😢 the first after 1000 km problems couldn't find the problem at first at the dealer. So another new one 😢 which also started ticking like a diesel after 800 km After a long wait for parts from Suzuki japan 🇯🇵 it started again after 40 km😢😢😢 very badly treated by the dealer and suzuki. been driving for 43 years. but 2022 was the worst year ever for me. and I wasn't the only one with these problems . suzuki really doesn't treat customers well . that's not how you keep customers😢 be honest as a dealer and sort it out nicely like any other brand would . no more suzuki for me.😢

I've heard this more and more and as someone who was ready to pull the trigger I'm nervous about this. Most say it's the timing chain and tensioner but no real fix. Ninja 1000sx might be the way just because of that even though I think this looks better.

The question is if a person is not as short as Emma instead is say 6 foot tall does that mean wind effect is head bending, many reviews of motorcycles rave on about how good the screen is, hardly any buffeting, without mentioning the riders height, it would be so much better if reviews rounded up a taller rider for a comparison

I hope she tries the optional Suzuki touring screen, possibly the seat, EBC sintered pads, and change a tooth for slightly longer gearing (I understand it has nearly no effect on acceleration, but drops the revs on the highway for decent mpg and reduces some of the buzz). I did see she had the 6s fitted on the track day (at least when photos were taken), but heard they weren't? I've heard they are quite good on track, as well. Would very much like to see a follow-up if possible! I'll personally vouch for the real-world build and finish quality of Suzuki, having had two over the past four years, one of which was an 04, and the other an 18: they both continued to look exceptional from paint to plastics (even after I got ahold of them!).

@@allwheeldrive I will support casey's case. I've had them on all my bikes and I'm always left unsatisfied. The recent swap from oem brembo to ebc really sealed the deal. Horrible rain braking and a huge lack of bite in exchange for good feel and progressive braking. For aggressive riders, look elsewhere. Thankfully I've still got the oem pads to swap back after these are done.
