Best Intro EVERRRR!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍 (just kidding. But it was OK.) One watch under $1K? I already have it. Tissot V8 Quartz Chronograph, beige dial and green bezel, on a bracelet. Easily my fave everyday watch already. I’m wearing it right now as I get ready to go bike riding (I hope that’s not insensitive. I really am going bike riding.😳 It’s a 10-speed I completely rebuilt 3 years ago.) Cartier: That green dial is to die for! That shade of green is getting popular. Breitling Premiere comes in that shade and it’s gorgeous! This Cartier is striking. It adds color to a neutral palette. For a man, a dark suit and that watch in green would be an attention grabber. Same for a woman in an elegant evening gown. A couple with matching green Santos watches is a step up in elegance and sophistication. I am not normally a Cartier guy, but I would definitely wear that Santos in green. Always love new Gringa Videos! 😎❤⌚️ (p.s. congratulations on getting sponsorship! Movin’ on up! Today: sponsorship, tomorrow: THE WORLD! Bwahahaha!!!)
I love the deeper message in the middle of this cast. Ive been a paramedic for over 30 years - I see daily how fickle life is, and survived cancer - so you absolutley have to live in the moment and enjoy today. Wear the watch, use the good china. Oh and heritage is very important.
@7:26 such a great question. I too love history and a brands heritage does draw me to a certain brand or model. It's not the only factor but it does play a role.
I have a question…. WHEN AM I GOING TO GET THE CALL FOR THE BLACK BAY 54?!??! 😤😡😖 Jokes aside, it’s nice to hear about your recovery -I see it in every new video you put out, your dedication, vibrancy and overall attitude is admirable. Praying for you to get back to 100% and praying I get my bb54😅
Great session ! Thank you Britt. Enjoyed it from start to the finish also learnt a lot. Your content and ideas are so out of box and interesting. Wishing you a smooth and rapid recovery. Appreciate that in spite of all pain that you are going through because of your accident you are still out there making the vblogs !!
Sharp Edged Seiko is a baby grand Seiko. The other US$ suggestions do not have that dial and bracelet! 😊 PRX bracelet just looks good, but does not feel good.
My forever one watch under $1k would have to be Tissot Gentleman. 40mm, date, steel bracelet, no need to worry about getting it wet. I could wear it anywhere from a pool party to a funeral.
I'm so glad your recovery is going well! I gave some thought to the best watch for under $1000 and my choice would be the CW C63 Sealander. Probably as close to my beloved OP36 as $1000 can get. Cheers!
Hi Britt, I have been viewing your videos for a while and have not commented until now. I knew you were injured but did not know how. Sorry to hear about your accident and hope you are recovering. Thank you for your content.
Everey single time I watch your videos, my first thought "Oh, the Bond Girl..." I don't know why 😂 Have a lovley sunday my dear. My choice: 1. Blue and green dial (sorry, I can't choose only one) 2. If I buy a watch, I wear it. 3. Yup, we all have only today. 4. the 28.8kB Modem... 🤣🤣 5. get well soon Britt 😘
Couldn’t agree more, having fun while you can - carpe diem - is so important. Otherwise: what are we waiting for exactly? Glad you are recovering and indeed that was a lot of luck 🍀
Hmm I'd grab a Mido Ocean Star 200m Day Date, I think they retail for $1200 but you can find one online for well under a grand even from a non Grey market Dealer. You get a SS Bracelet, 42mm Case, 200 meter water resistance, 80 hour power reserve and Ceramic Bezel. It's also fairly slim at 12.3 mm thick. Also Green Santos!! hands down. Blue's a bit boring these days.
Pertaining to history/heritage, horology is one of the fortunate sector that can take advantage of it. Sometimes it seems to be merely a marketing coy. History of other tech product brands like Nokia, Motorola, Bose, Linn, B&O, IBM, Palm means nothing nowsaday.
I have a Certina DS(under swatch umbrella). It looks like a seamaster 300 heritage. Looks great. After 5 months it ran 7min fast. Only complaint is the lume is crap. $500ish from jomashop
The green Santos is to die for! Is the Presage sharp edge possibly Seiko's take on a GADA watch in the Aqua Terra sense? 🤔 By the way, we have something in common. One of the best gifts I have ever received was a modded (Orient) watch!!
Ahhh MODDED GIFT CREW! There’s sometjing about gifts that are made for you. You know?! It’s insanely special. 😭💕💕💕 and I think you’re bang ON with the Presage sharp edge series!
That one-watch-under-$1K question is a good one! I’m thinking 38mm Hamilton Khaki Field Auto, Seiko Alpinist, or a Longines Hydroconquest (if on sale).
BAHAHA! I should have really realised this on Sunday! 😅 but I get too excited to get videos out! 🙈 OH YESSSS TO THE MOJITO!!! So dang PRETTY! I always thought those kinda blurred the boundaries of Seiko and GS!
If I could have only one watch under $1000 for the rest of my life, I'd probably go with a simple field watch based on Seiko NH series movement. It is reasonably accurate and you can replace the whole movement for $50 or so.
You seem to be doing a little bit better with every new video. Good to see. Be careful with those pills. I agree about wearing what you have. Life is too short to keep your nice things in a box.
Again, lovely video. And could not agree more…. Enjoy your life and buy the things that make you happy and of course … watches make us happy, so wear them 🙂
Ahhh STEPHEN!! Thank you so so much! You know, I don’t think I give myself enough to credit for how far I’ve been coming in the healing journey. I get so frustrated I’m not feeling better! When really, I’ve come a long way! 🙈🤘🏻 and you know, I so agree about history! It’s a big pull for me too! I know it’s not for everyone. But I love how oldy-Worldy watches are and the history comes woth that for me! 💕✨✨
Love Q&A. So I just picked up the BB54. It's only been a couple days but loving it so far. Is it horrible to say I like it better than the Sub 🤭 How are you feeling about yours?
Michelle!!! I love hearing this! And no no, it isn’t horrible to say…. Or if it is, I guess I’m horrible too bevause I completely agree! It kinda feels like a vintage sub! Extremely enjoyable wear! 😱 I’m wearing mine right now!
As regards this thing about totalling up the value of watch collections, I wonder if thee are people who have slipped into a slightly crazy place almost without noticing it happening? I mean, given the price of watches in recent years, you only have to buy a couple...then a couple more...and before you know it you might have some biggish sums tied up in this illness! From the perspective of insurance, security, financial prudence, and sheer common-sense, that just isn't entirely cool...somehow... (It was starting to happen to me a couple of years back, but I've been cutting down the collection.)
Bahahaha! You explained exactly what happened to me and collecting! I got one nice watch. Then two. Then all of the sudden it was 8 😅 and it’s way too much money! Hahaha
Ahhh not too personal at all Tim! 💕 I had a Nomos Tangente Hodinkee LE! I truly loved that watch! But it wasn’t getting as much wrist time for me anymore. 😅 and I really wanted to get a nicer camera for capturing watches! It was such a hard choice to sell that watch!
Gosh, hearing that accident description again just stops my heart. So glad you had that helmet on. ❤️also, yeah man, WEAR those watches and get those scratches! Carpé Watchem! 😂
BAHAHHA! You know! Sometimes it turns my stomach a bit thinking of what could have happened! BUT THANK GOD I ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET! Life is short! None of it is promised to us. Wear your favourite watches, enjoy them! Our time is short!
I wanna buy my first rolex submariner non date from rolex ! Any advice how to chose rolex shop ? My closest is Cambridge 40 miles away! Or do i go to every rokex shop in uk maybe more chances to get rolex quicker ??? Great content 😉
Don’t even start with the weather! Been really getting to me! I got drenched on Tuesday from a hale storm! Umbrella didn’t even save me! Bring on the sun so I can buy a summer watch 😂.
My answers below: 1. The Tissot Gentleman 2. Too poor to answer 3. Too poor to answer 4. Too poor to answer 5. Too poor to answer ... you get the drift lol
@Britt: thanks for answering my question about Pepsi Jubilee vs Oyster, even if it was bluntly frank. Got the call from my AD a few months ago on my Pepsi which I adore, only “problem” was it was on oyster 😭, but I’m trying to find a reputable and safe way to source my dream jubilee. Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Re: Watch history/heritage . . well, there will be at least 20 people out in the world who, if I have my way, will become watch geeks of some sort since I'll be teaching a university level course on time and timekeeping with a heavy dose of watch history and current watch culture. Are there pedagogical reasons for this class? Sure. Do I just want to recruit Gen Z and get paid for my hobby? Absolutely. The history is what pulled me in personally.
Love the Dad jokes. If British weather is getting you down vacation in Ontario. From May to the end of sept it is usually sunny and warm. Also, we have Timmies. Your husband needs to come over to the dark side and enjoy Timmies.
I love the UK as well as Canada. I am typical Canadian with a very mixed heritage but an affinity for British culture. I am sure you will enjoy it. Ontario has big cities with entertainment, restaurants, culture (ya, even us) and amazing nature (Algonquin Park, Cottage Country the size of the UK). Maybe something to help a wounded girl heal? Some cool video locations? Show off the exotic British husband? Go ahead, bit into the timbit and live a little.
Personally I would never buy something that I wouldn’t wear. And for someone that lives in Mexico probably the most expensive that I would wear would be a Tudor or a Cartier, but that would be the max. For now just saving to get an Oris Propilot 😅
I wear all my watches on a regular basis. If a watch is "too expensive to wear" there's no point in owning it, I don't want to be Smaug the dragon sitting on a hoard of watches. One exception: I don't travel with expensive watches though, especially when staying in hotels or visiting an area like Southern California. I take a decent looking microbrand watch, and a small G-Shock for the beach, and I'm good to go.
I love my bond seamaster and my moon watch speedmaster and looking at ww2 omega 859 modern version love history too watches also get well soon I ride a bike to work my wife hates it I have so many near misses
A question that i frequently ask myself: percentage wise, how would you determine the value of a watch? My particular answer: brand name = 25%. Quality of case, dial, hands, crystal and bracelet = 30%. Quality of movement = (solid back, movement not visible) 20%. Complications = 10%. Value as compared to similar watches = 15% . To put it in its simplist form, would you rather have a Timex movement in a Rolex case, or a Rolex movement in a Timex case? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Ouuu now youve put some real thought into this! But I think you nailed it!! I hate myself to admit it but…. I’d rather a Timex movement in a Rolex case. 🤣
Yes depends on the watch and the quality of the movement but most automatic watches require servicing every 3-5 years and there are outliers like rolex where movements are so refined they might last a lifetime without servicing
Hmm it depends on the brand I guess and the amount of complexity of the watch the more complex the watch the more to maintain the watch some watches a up keeps is ever 5 years some every ten years it depends how often you wear the watch if you wear the same watch every day the time to get it serviced well come up under 5 years if you keep it in a watch box and wear it once in a while 10 plus years even 20 years hope I helped a little
Oh John! Thank you so much for aubbing to my weird little channel!!! 💕✨💕💕 And yes! As others have commented, they do need servicing and maintenance. Which is always a cost in owning mechanical watches sadly! It’s just to make sure everything is ticking right, maintaining good time and replenishing all of the oils. They are little machines after all! Each watch and brand is a little different in their servicing intervals! 5 years is pretty standard. 💕✨
@@Doggo-frencton can’t say for the new but i have rolex watches in my family which haven’t been serviced in decades are so crisp you won’t even be able to tell
Oh i love your mod casio love the blue . I guess one watch would have to be a Tissot or maybe a Oris maybe a citizen for under a thousand TImex maybe its to hard lol wishing every one a happy Saterday
Your videos are sometimes not "popping up" for me, and if /when I find them, they're out of sequence, 🤔,, this one being a prime example,, 😢,, any ideas how I can fix things, as I'm sure the fault is at my end,, 😍
Thank you for this video, Britt... If I could only have one watch it would be the Casio G-Shock DW5600E-1V They cost £60 GBP For the money they are outstanding. 02:02 In this video Seiko Presage .. Precision +25/-15 Seconds a DAY Casio G-Shock DW5600 E-1V... Precision 0.15 Seconds a day (On mine anyway) Power reserve ... Seiko Presage ... 70 Hours Casio DW5600E-1V Power reserve .. 3+ YEARS out of a battery. Why do people buy these INFERIOR obsolete "Cogwheel" watches and THINK they are the best thing since sliced bread... “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it" .... Joseph Goebbels 1897-1945 Yes OK, the Seiko is as pretty as a blank cheque... But why judge a book by its cover...Looks are not everything.
£800 watch, people are going to hate this, top end (VS Factory) fake black bezel (122610ln) Submariner, that's enough cash left to get it serviced, regulated and water proof tested. You may hate what it is, but you will not get a better watch under £3k. 904L stainless steel, 3 seconds a day accuracy, need to take the back off to tell it's not real. Shoot me if you want 😂
