Another function of the tight junctions is to protect the haploid cells from our own immune system because they only have half the chromosomes so the body thinks it’s foreign.

Yes! If you watch Ninja Nerds video on Speematogenesis, you will find that information there. He speaks on that in his video. That’s why it’s important to watch a few different video’s when learning this material! 😊

All too often, this gets negated when one first learns about meiosis; ie, first there's mitosis of cells that give rise to meiosis. Thank you so much for the great explanation.

Awesome video 🙌🏻 Another point, the tight junction forms the Blood Testis Barrier (BTB) to prevent the immune system to attack on newly formed secondary spermatocyte (as they are haploid)

Winner of a video, been searching for "how to sustain an erection" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Meyylan Konophia Theorem - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my neighbour got cool success with it.

when it becomes spermatosit primer, why the cell can be bigger than before?
@Grits420
@Grits420 8 лет назад
hi I have it written in my textbook that the second split of the sperm cell is still mitosis. I think this is contrary to your video where you indicate it is meiosis and first meisos division doesn't occur till after primary spermatocytes . Can you please confirm this or do I have it incorrect? I feel like you might be slit in mitotic proliferation?
@kathleenmulvey1770
@kathleenmulvey1770 8 лет назад
+Grits420 The first split is mitosis, the second split is meiosis 1, followed by meiosis 2 being the third where the immature sperm cells are formed

Where does sperm DNA come from and how does it get damaged over years since they gets replaced very frequently? Why do Yamanaka factors not bring reproductive cells to pluripotency?

One comment on the 2nd meiosis relative to 1st meiosis. The 1st meiosis goes from 1 diploid cell (46 chromosomes pairs) to 2 haploid cells (23 single chromosomes), the 2nd meiosis goes from 1 haploid cell (23 single chromosomes) to 2 haploid cells (23 single chromosomes). Making 4 spermatides from 1 primary spermatocyte in total. I understand if this is what you are trying to make a point out of, but its a bit obscure to people who only watch this video. There are still 23 singles in the 2nd meiosis, as it was in the 1st, why comment that there is 23 singles in the 2nd, like there would be a difference when there isnt? Why is it not mentioned that there is a 2nd meiosis? (its only written and highlighted once and not for both meiosises)

Human creation in Quran وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن سُلَٰلَةٖ مِّن طِينٖ We have created man from an extract of clay. (Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 12) ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ نُطۡفَةٗ فِي قَرَارٖ مَّكِينٖ Then We made him a sperm-drop in a firm resting place. Then We turned the sperm-drop into a clot, then We turned the clot into a fetus-lump, then We turned the fetus-lump into bones and We clothed the bones with flesh; thereafter We developed it into another creature. So glorious is Allah, the Best of the creators. (Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 14) Thanks
