Geri looks so different to 1997 or 1996 but still so beautiful. She really got it, the star quality and special face even when she's dressed down in jeans and a black shirt, she oozes star quality.
Ikr not to mention how she was such a chameleon and had so many transformations throught her eras even now with her back to ginger hair and her white monochromatic style
It’s so interesting to see this. Geri would leave in 11 days. You can see she was done with the band. Her body language and the fact that she was not rambling anymore. They were talking about the future and you can see Geri was thinking not with me girls ;)
Spice Girls had it hard in interviews back then about coming across as being too sexy for their fans. The terrible interviewer keeps pushing the topic and you can see Mel C and Emma getting fed up with her, Mel B takes a piss in the middle of it, while love stuck Victoria is too busy thinking of when she will see David again to even pretend she's interested. Thankfully Geri has got this! The likes of the Pussy Cat Dolls, Girls Aloud and Little Mix never had to justify themselves to this extent for dressing sexy and being themselves. Spice Girls paved the way.
I think its also because cause she's the oldest she's the boss in a way and when other members started speaking up and talking more in interviews she kindve lost the boss part in a way
I think its also because geri was the oldest she kinda felt like she was the Capitan of the group and once the others spoke up more and had a voice she felt like they didn't need her anymore she even admitted that she felt she didn't need to hold the group together anymore and thought they can carry on without her
This has to be the most chaotic Spice Girl interview ever. Between Mel C being annoyed and her hairline covered with makeup, Geri being so done with everything checking her phone, Emma Texting and Mel B running out of the interview plus the interviwer trying her hardest to shade the girls while they shut her down flawlessly.
i was just gonna comment in mel c's hair . there is a video here on youtube of her performing with that hair like that. i think her hair around her hairline was falling out due to the tension of wearing a ponytail alot ..
@@danitydon6976 I don't think it was that bc on the video you can see there's foundation painted on too of her hairline. You can see the hairline under it. Altho I don't doubt she had hair shedding bc of the ponytail same as Emma
@SpiceGirlsTV I think it's bc there was no social media back then so doing as many interviews as you could was the only way to connect with the fans, kinda what posting on social media is nowadays
haha Mel C wasnt 20 either and Emma wasnt 18, Victoria was one year older too. They were all lying haha If this was pre Wannabe coming outin July 96, Geri would have been 23, Victoria 22, Mel C 22, Mel B either 20 or 21 and emma 20.
I know right? And they still act like Geri was the bad one for leaving and like it all came out completely of the blue and they were tigher than they ever were, when she left. Geri must be a damn good friend and still feel guilty to not set the record straight and tell people how she really felt. She even apologized to the group and the fans on stage a couple of years ago.
@@Marc-zi5cqhis 👏🏻 I love Melanie C and I know she’s been through a lot too but she had such a bitchy attitude during the period prior to Geri leaving. They’re showing their true colours in this interview, they were all cutting her out. Only Emma seems to be ‘neutral’ hence why she’s always been the closest to Geri. As for Mel B, never liked her, I feel like she’s always been jealous of Geri and the fact that she was so much easier to like and let’s face it, the face of the Spice Girls.
@@Heytno Emma stated that she's always had a great relationship, back then and now. They are like sisters, so she found t hard when Geri left. Victoria can be bitchy sometimes but she was not the problem either when Geri left. The two mels were truly behaving horrible and they must be damn ignorant to treat her like that in public, so we can only imagine what it was like behind the screen and then play victim ''How could she leave us?'' when she finally cracked and did.

You can tell that Geri is over it this point as she found her leader role in the group slipping with the rising popularity of other bandmates. She was such an ego lol.
Lol they were purposely blanking her out. If anything, it makes me understand why she didnt want to stay wth other people being rude. She wasnt to anyone. And lets face it, she was still the favorite and face of the group. The album they did without her fucking tanked.
