they were either stoned out of their minds or just really tired but either way this is my all-time favorite interview of theirs. i come back to it whenever i need a laugh lol
They were already exhausted by summer 1997, then they started shouting the movie and recording the Spiceworld album which just pushed them beyond the brink. They are surviving on pure adrenaline at this point. But yeah this is interview still shows just how they generally were even if they weren't tired. They were just bombastic, in your face and unapologetic. This is always a great watch because the bond between them is so slick and pure that it can't be replicated. That's why people loved them and still love them.
This is exactly how I always pictured them to be like, despite the fighting and personal issues that would come to the surface later. They behaved like sisters/cheeky schoolgirls having this massive, eternal laugh. This is Spice! I love them all and everything they represent to this day.
It's because he was going to say "I can't turn on the TV without seeing youse lot" but vic cut him off thinking he was stupid that he couldn't turn the TV on. Get it?
What i love about them is someone could be loud, other could be quiet, forward and then one could be funny, but there were no division.. they are really one group.
As the girls have said many times, Emma B. was always a trouble maker, and she could get away with it cause of her cuteness, high pitched voice, and sugary sweet smile, lol.
You can see how incredibly close they were in this interview, but you can also see why they kind of imploded as quickly as they did. Them making fun of Geri, not letting Mel C finish her sentence, Victoria sort of being distracted. Even though they obviously loved each other, you can sorta see the cracks.
Elisabeth Mulder Yup, clashing of personalities. Makes them great to watch, but I don't know if I could stand being around people like that for as much as they have. It's hard enough for people who are blood-related, the pressure of work and everything prob got to be too much. They lasted a long time though, plus reunion performances.
Elisabeth Mulder yes you can see how mel B is dominant and self centered .and you can see how Geri gets mocked. in fact Geri seems to be the smartest one and they don't take her as serious they pushed her away till she left

I love how Victoria immediately grabs her arm during the slap fight when no one has touched her. This is one of the best interviews ever and the Spice Girls have a lot of great interviews. When they get together they always manage to have fun.
@@AmaanStorm But i think shes also from a small town outside of Liverpool but within the Liverpool district or whatever its called so maybe that could be. Of what I read in wikipedia shes from Whinston :)
Mel B was talking so much shit to him 😂 She’s hilarious, they all are. Love them so much! One of the best parts of my childhood was the Spice Girls and watching this feels so nostalgic. Goofballs❤️
Mel b hitting geri because she didn't realize baby had actually hit her has the energy of a mom hearing a crashing noise from the other room and immediately calling out the oldest sibling's name 😭😭😭
"I've already told you about it!" "Yeah but you haven't told them out there Geri!" This interview is easily the best thing i've ever seen the entire thing makes me laugh
I'm the "odd ball out" of Spice Girls fans because I always taught that Posh was the best. Posh was lit af cuz of her personality, stares, jokes, and her edgy ass bob.
Same! I always was drawn to her almost seeming like she didn’t want to be there one minute, and then dominating the movie with great one liners the next haha. Her and Geri were always my favorites.
What are you talking about? All of them have people that like one the most. Maybe in your close circle of friend you felt alone. But that's your experience.
Geri.. Remember the first time? Jamie, yes I do. The interviewer has a big crush on Geri, the first interview the girls mocked him to ask her, He was blushing and he asked Geri if she can go out with him for a dinner in a national TV lol. I could see here He still has it haha..
If The Spice Girls hadn't have had the naughty but fun characters they had, they wouldn't have been half the success they were. Their audience warmed to them because of their entertaining interviews and energetic persona's. And they had a powerful gimmick. Not even Girls Aloud were as admired as much as The Spice Girls. They were popular don't get me wrong, but they didn't have the strong characters that The Spice Girls had and they didn't have as strong a gimmick. They were essentially just another girl band who got their success because The Spice Girls had disappeared and kids needed something else to obsess over.
@@TheAshesArt What are you talking about dude? This topic is about the Spice Girls and you've just randomly started replying about someone off 4chan and how he's in prison. I repeat, what relevance is that to the Spice Girls?
They really were a bit like the Beatles. In both groups, each member had a distinct personality, and together as a group they were both funny, unpredictable, and more real than most music acts. It was this authenticity, I think, which made them both more than just successful pop acts.
I will say that it was always cool how the gals always knew how to make a guy blush and stumble over himself, even if he normally was normally was the one to do it to others.
I can feel it was only Emma Bunton who didnt bully or gossip about Mel C. Coz Mel B was open about the bullying, Geri can sometimes offend the girls (making emma cry) and she and victoria had a misunderstanding in 1995. good emma.
I feel the only one who really bullied Mel C was Mel B during the time, not Geri. And when Mel B and Geri would fight - Emma would be the one (according to Victoria) who would slot right between them. Because I saw an interview on here recently where Mel B and Geri were being loud and interrupted Mel C trying to talk. And Emma basically told them to shut up, to let Mel C finish ...and they listened to her.
Never has a group of girls been in a band that gave this type of energy. Infectious. You feel safe around them. Like they're also your friends. Relatable for this 30 year old gay man in Delaware US. 4:05 and on, look at Mel B teasing Geri behind her back as she's talking 👄 so funnyyyy. So funny! "Are you afraid of getting over exposed?" "You better ask Geri that one!" LMAO 🍉🍉 "Oh do you mean are we selling out? .... Yes." -Victoria Vicky, Mel C, Geri, and Mel B definitely all shared a bong before filming.
Loved these girls! Huge shame they couldn't get along for more than 2 albums. They were never the same after Geri left and they started getting pregnant/married. They did great with the small amount of time they were together but could have accomplished so much more. The music was fantastic. 🤩🤩🤩
2:04 The real reason for the delay of the new release was because of Princess Diana’s unfortunate death. Mel C said in her book that it would have been inappropriate and in poor taste to release such an upbeat single in the wake of Diana’s passing while the nation was mourning.
