This song came out in the year 2000 so two years after Geri left the group. The song was produced by Darkchild, who also produced Brandy & Monica The Boy is Mine, and Destiny’s Child’s Say My Name. That’s why this song has an early 2000s R&B sound. The concept of the video is that each one them are representing the 4 elements: Mel C - Earth Mel B - Fire Emma - Water Victoria - Air The point was they join together at the end to complete their union as a foursome. It was their first album without Geri so they were symbolising that they were now a unit of 4. This was also the Spice Girls last album.

Ginger is gone not Sporty. Sporty now has blond, shorter hair. “Holler” came out about a year after Melanie (Sporty) released her debut solo album, Northern Star. She changed her look / cut her hair for her solo era, and kept it short when the Spice Girls came back together. (We def need a countdown of solo Spice Girl videos btw)

One of my favourites! Darkchild was on fire during the early to mid 2000s.

Scary left. Ginger is Mel B, Sporty is Emma, Posh is David Beckham and Baby is Geri. They released their 3rd album with out Scary called "5-Ever" and it did super well commercially and critically. It won 13 grammys, 7 Emmy's, 4 Golden Globes, 4 Tony Awards, 23 Brit Awards, 107 MTV Awards (USA and World Wide MTV) 3 ESPY's, 2 Razzies and 11 Independent Spirit Awards in 2001. The 4 spices (without Scary) had the greatest comeback of the early 2000's in history!!! To this day, Holler goes to number 1 every May 31st and only on May 31st to honor Scary's departure. This album was so powerful, it helped Mariah Carey come out of her "emotional and physical breakdown" after the whole Gitter debacle. It literally inspired her to write "We Belong Together" in 2004 because Mariah really wanted Scary to go back to the group.... and in 2007 Scary listened to Mimi, and all 5 spices were reunited once more and to this day, at least a few dates each year, still go on tour! Posh makes all the spice girls outfits, is super into being a spice girl more than ever (she never married or had children and only does spice girls events), and is always on the forefront of all things Spice!! Jk ... sorry I'm SUPER high!!! 🤷‍♂️ I really am the BIGGEST Spice Girls fan, really ask anyone from the graduating class of 2002 in Douglas, AZ!

Probably my fave SG jam. Album didn't do well because of poor promotion and the label just not knowing what to do with them during the music scene changing in the early 00s. If the album had been a hit and they continued down this R&B sound, who knows what the 4G/SGs could have been.

It made me so happy that Victoria Beckham was actually being recognized after Geri left AND they could actually do more choreography. “Holler” is my favorite song from them and the Return to the Spice Girls version was my favorite version. The group sounded and looked way better after Geri

Sporty (Melanie C) is Earth. Ginger (Geri) was not in this video or album both released in 2000. She left the band in 1998 and rejoined in 2007 for a reunion tour.

Sporty never left, ginger left! Also mel b (scary) and mel c (sporty) have the most recognizable voices, so you just hear that she's still there.

When this song was realised it was considered Spice Girls evolution. After so many years later I considere it was one step ahead for this group, it was a modest success, but It is a nice song.

We all got to experience SPICE MANIA via videos, interviews, appearances, commercials, movies, concerts, merchandise, etc. So it’s clear to us. AND Sporty in THIS era dyed her hair blonde so I guess I get how you don’t see a brunette anymore and think she must be Ginger. Honest and cute mistake.
