HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!
I just love the Chinese people. I've been studying their different cultures and foods intensely for for a few years now, and you can really see how wonderful they truly are here. I'm really learning a lot from these videos as well so thank you Trevor!
Hope you guys enjoy the video and watching me stumble around with my rusty mandarin LOL! You'll fall in love with Sichuan food when you come visit Chengdu! The address to this bustling farmers market is in the video description of you want to visit it, and please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought, I'll do my best to get back to you! You can follow my instagram for updates to these delicious food journeys! instagram.com/thefoodranger
Hi Trevor, I'm a Chengdu local now living overseas. I've subscribed your channel for over a year now. Every time i miss hometown food, I'd watch your videos over and over.😂Thank you for presenting our amazing spicy food to the world! And thank you for loving our food too❤️
I love these video's! I'm a litlle addicted, watching them every morning and evening. I love the way you talk to the local people and how you speak Chinese, good job Trevor! What touches me the most is the friendly people you come across and how nice and honest they are. I'm not only watching because of the food. ;) I know that when I start the day with these video's, I'm starting enlighted, and when I wtach before going to sleep, I sleep well. Wishing yoy both the best, from Holland. :) Thanx!
That's it. That dan dan mian and hong you chao shou were the killer blow. I just started salivating immediately as soon as i saw you mix the awesome dan dan mian and wonton with the chili oil , and having tasted good dan dan mian (although not the authentic chengdu style that you are having here) before, i can almost imagine how good it must have been watching you eat them. I guess you prefer the noodles from other stores back in your earlier videos, but the wonton looks really good. That pork wrapped in wonton skin and then just glistening in fatty chili oil, mmmm tai hao le. Love your food and travel videos! Loves from Singapore
Hey Trevor! Just started watching a week ago and I am loving your channel. As a Chinese American myself, it's great to see someone so interested in Chinese food! I wish to someday see as much as China as you have. I loved the episode where you were in the rural parts of Guang Dong and you got to carry a roasted pig to the burial sites, because that is where my family is from and I got to experience that as well. I hope your love for China never dies, safe travels!
Besides your excellent video content, I think the reason why your videos are so successful and your channel is growing is because it is easy to see that you are such a good, friendly and likable person. The amount of respect you show other people's cultures and the personable nature you bring to these videos is refreshing to see, besides the awesome food that you eat as well. The world would get along better if every country just sent you as its ambassador lol but seriously thanks for all your videos and congrats on all the deserved success.
I spent 13 years in China and have been back in England for 5 years now. To see your video of spicy noodles brings back wonderful memories of Sichuan cuisine. To people who haven't eaten spicy and numbing Sichuan noodles, it's difficult to explain just how delicious they are but your video does a great job of it. My all-time favourite dish - ma po dou fu.
The Dan Dan noodles and the wantons actually brought water in my mouth. It was exquisite!!!! and I could feel that awesomeness of both the dishes through your expressions when you took a bite of 'em. Even that thing was nice to see which was made of rice flour which almost looked like rice balls. Really enjoy your videos!!! :-) keep travelling, keep exploring!!! All the Best Trevor!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Trevor!! Im from Szechuan and i live in Canada right now, i miss these food so much I'm literally watching every single one of your videos that is made in Szechuan. I can barely find any authentic chinese food here and i can't wait to go back this summer. Hope ill run into you on the street hehe;)
aww thanks! Your so awesome Trevor, your videos are THE BEST, even my mom is addicted to them like she saw every single one of them lolol I really enjoy seeing you interact with the locals, and I love that you have some sichuan accent when speaking mandarin;) And you say your mandarin is rusty?? TRUST me, in sichuan, 80% of the locals speak rustier mandarin than you lol, so never feel bad about your accent cuz everybody in sichuan has an accents haha. Love you
Trap Music Now. It’s actually pretty much universal throughout China. The prices of food there isn’t actually cheap for native Chinese people. 5-10 RMB is a good amount of money. However when you convert it into dollars it becomes almost nothing at all. Coupled with the high wages Americans make, traveling to China as an American from any walk of life, you will feel extremely rich.
I seriously wish I could travel there and try some food right now. The food looks so good. I wish I had a travel buddy that would be willing to go there with me since I wouldn't want to travel alone. I enjoy watching your videos before I go to bed. I love you Trevor!
i am pure Chinese, now, work in PH, i miss the food in my country, it's the best. if possible, let's hunting for the best food in China, my Wechat:q531322976
Its amazing to see how friendly and welcoming the chinese people are. It feels great to see them smiling and happy to see you trying out their food. Keep the awesome work up! 👍
Trevor James you are the man!!! I've been watching your videos for the last couple of months now. I'm all caught up and waiting for more! Keep up the good work and continue to inspire others to food range brother!
Trevor if you are ever and i mean ever in NYC please contact me and ill take you to eat in the best Dominican and Spanish food spots. I never seen Spanish food on your channel so if you are ever in NYC don't forget to contact me.
Your respect shown for these vendors and their culture is why I watch your videos. You always show respect for the vendors, even if their food doesn't quite meet your expectations. These people are working hard to produce what they hope is a tasty product, but with so many variations and choices available, some may not taste as good as you hoped. You still give them a smile and never give away, with facial expressions, that their dish may not have tasted as good as you hoped. You are a good man bringing all our countries closer together.
So I watched two videos of you and decided to pause for a bit to run to chinatown here in Ottawa to buy ingredients to make Sichuan style wontons oh man they were so good, but now I'm watching this vid, and I'm thinking damn I should have bought more ingredients to make chili sauce everything. XD
Trevor. This is my first ever comment on RU-vid and that goes to you. I just love your videos and the way you present them. I have a request to make. Could you please make a video on your daily routine or preparation before going to street food tour and after that? I guess it would help people who are foodies. Would love to hear from you.
Those 担担面 Look sooooo goood. Btw how did u end up in China in the first place?? , clearly ur in Love with the food hahahahaha. Keep it up can't wait for the 新疆 episode
Wtf.. I need to move. When people see you twice, they consider you to be a good friend and give you free food. When people see me twice, they ask for a restraining order.
Im from China and live in American almost 3 years and never got chance to go back yet. whenever I miss Chinese food I watch your video and feel so satisfied. You did a good job!!!!!!
I’m falling in love just watching these videos, I’m taking a culinary internship in France and I just wanna travel the world studying the plentiful culinary arts of each culture
Realy great Tour as allways! Its nice to see so mutch different stuff, the markets are the best! Youre charme and respekt for the culture are awesome. I just have 1 question; you started the culinaryshool for learning more about the food, but where do you want that it brings you? Do you have plans, like open youre own restaurant one day or something different? Would love to hear about youre future plans, sorry if i missed it out on a vid :) All the best from Germany
Hi buddy! My plans are to keep traveling and making videos for now :) I stopped the culinary school because it didn't allow me to make videos, took too much time!
I finally found real Chinese Sichuan peppercorns and made long bean with chili and dofu on sweet potato noodle. Awesome and so easy to make! You are an inspiration to flex my cooking muscles!
So very good to see you my friend!! I have followed your channel for quite awhile now..... Ive noticed that your post editing/HD recording has improved!! I still do love that Chengdu spice oil still talks to your soul!! :) Love to see that you are moving forward with your passion.
The Food Ranger omg i loved it, keep it up. LOVE how you are so excited after every bite. Your videos are the reason i cant diet. Everything you eat makes me hungry.
Ahhh...how can you eat so much yummy Sichuan food without putting any weight on😫😫😫😋 (I put so much weight on everytime i visit Chengdu for a week😭) great video by the way👍
You're inspiring me to take up learning Mandarin just to explore Chengdu and all other wonderful places in China! Good on you, Trevor! Really enjoy watching your vids. Don't ever stop! :)
What a blast! I live vicariously through you on your travels! Great job on all of your videos and great job on your travels. I'm envious but again, I love watching you and your lovely girlfriend on these trips. Thanks for taking us along with you!
Hi trevor... I am ur new subcriber... And I love your channel... I have a doubt, u r a Canadian, right? But u r speaking chinese fluently.... Can u tell me about this..
Hi buddy! Yeah, I'm Canadian! I learned mandarin in Vancouver, BC, when I was in university, I took two terms. Then I moved to China and started practicing on the streets, and now I can speak somewhat OK, not that good though! haha! Hope you enjoyed the video!
Love these videos! Cant wait for you to travel to more amazing destinations! The formatting of your videos is superb and I love the interactions with the locals. I get the most information out of your videos, compared to other travel videos Ive seen. Keep up the good work!
The Food Ranger hey Trevor, I've heard that the Chinese government is on their way blocking VPN as well, what are you going to do / any other plans you have?
Anita Zhang Isnt he technicaly Canadian? He could use his embacy to upload stuff. Or maybe get some kind of government autorization... Its not like hes uploading anything illegal. And he actually promotes China's gastronomical tourism. I never even thought of visiting China before watching his vlogs.
Minfeng Li they are planning to ban the ones not from the government I am pretty sure because people from china are accessing websites they intended to block
