As someone with a lot of experience with a range of cats and their behaviour... I gotta say that Mayo was impressively well behaved, despite the war cries.
@Iflie actually she does that for all cats and he does have a history of swatting and scratching. Not to mention cat claws carry certain bacterias that if they break skin it can easily be infected so clipping them reduces the chances to the skin breaking and causing health issues (but dont declaw ur cats thats like removing the first knuckle of ur finger and can actually cause more harm to them, its cruel)
@@ashley.rice2016 Cat scratches are normally not an issue, despite the cat scratch fever claims most people get clawed on the daily with their own cats and never get anything. It's the teeth that are the concern. Unless you are immunocompromised. Cats need their claws, they use them like fingers and defense and to stretch their paws and back. Mine go outside so they also need them badly there. In the U.S cutting them is seen as normal maintenance but I think it impacts how the claws grow and afterwards they may grow back too curved into the paw. That's not the natural way all claws grow but it seems to happen more in the U.S , I think from the cutting and keeping cats from using them.
@Iflie i did say declawing is cruelty. Also i said it could easily get infected due to bacteria not that someone could get severely sick (which yes could happen but rarely). Most of the time its a mild infection (slightly red and raised just needs to be cleaned out), cats have dirty paws from their litter box from dust, feces and urine which can cause infection.
@@ashley.rice2016 Declawing should be banned outright but clipping their claws should also not be seen as needed maintenance for cats. Yes claws can be dirty but in general they do not cause any kind of reaction, especially indoor cats. Claws are important for a cat and they often really hate having them clipped. So why do it? My kittens claws were clipped at the vet once afte they got fixed and they spend the next few weeks falling off things because they couldn't hold on or get their balance. I think it should only be clipped when they are in discomfort from them. In my country clipping them is not usually done and there is no cat scratch fever issue, in fact I don't even know the dutch for that term. That's how little it comes up,
When you remember adult cats don't usually meow at other cats, so he really was trying to let you know his bath was full of lava and then he sounded so concerned when you meowed back.
@@preriowy No they generally meow purely for human benefit because they've learned that we respond whent hey do that and not when they use their usual form of communication - body language.
@@SkylorBeck hey uh btw- the person was saying that the cat was saying that. They didn't think it was actual lava (also sorry if I missed a joke I'm pretty dumb-)
@@annehaight9963 this is actually a myth. There’s a lot more to swimming vs being drenched suddenly in a bath. Thank you for sharing Spicy Mayo's audition to be named an "Honorary Husky." His rendition of the song of his people was outstanding - he got through all the verses. (Hopefully he did not lose any points for failing to try to bite the "air hose of certain death." To be fair, he tried to make up any lost points by resisting having his paws groomed.)
@@truth4004 well to be fair, we humans put up with everything from the dentist to a colonoscopy - complaining mid annoyance is very much a thing for pets and children who still are innocent enough to think crying will magically make bad things go away lol
@@truth4004 You're doing something I don't like - being cringe. Therefore I am putting forward this formal complaint. Please pass it on to your face, on my behalf.
Well they do say that trying to train a husky is also very much like trying to train a cat at the same time and apparently they both have so similar temperaments? 🤔😅
@@sarafinasummers7863 for them it's like taking an ice cold shower no matter how warm the water is . Only cats with no fur actually enjoy it. And I get the water thing. I got fibromyalgia and it always hurts when I take a shower
Oh Mayo, you squishy faced goblin. You never disappoint! It cracks me up how there is so much drama at bath time, but during the blow dry he's totally chill.
I love how we are all pretty much fanboys of mayonnaise at this point. Every time he shows up on the channel it's an instant hit . It's like being a fan of the rudest and sassiest character on a TV show. You just can't help it sometimes lol!
I am giggling with everyone having their cats and dogs responding to Mayos' cries of agony... Meanwhile my cat is laying in my lap purring as I pet her, completely ignoring the sounds of the Spicy Mayo distress. 😀
I started putting some water in my bathtub for my budgie, after him, both my cats and dogs watched this they are on their best behviour. Except my budgie, he is taking a bath. 🛀
My boi ran under the bed. But the grrrl, a bondage master in torbie disguise, enjoyed Mayo’s suffering, purring and kneading her murder mittens deep into my flesh.
Cats also purr to comfort, so I think they may be getting close to the source to do just that. My cat is laying beside me purring, but he showed much concern before doing that and keeps eyeing my phone with concern. Still purring.
The whole part he was being bathed and howling his head off, I was laughing and couldn't stop! 🤣 LOL!! It was so hard to stop even though his bath was finished. 😂😂
Despite how much he screans, he is SO well-behaved. Barely moved an inch and stayed in one spot, as you noted. Such a good cat, at least for the beginning of the bath.
I am intrigued about his body language while screaming in the bath. He is vocalizing that “this is hell!”, but he does not try to escape, his posture is somewhat relaxed, his pupils are normal in size, his eyes are not huge or showing worry, and he is even slowly blinking at you when he looks at you over his shoulder. His ears show some disgruntled emotions, but that and the screaming is basically it. As far as I’ve seen just a few minutes into the video at least. 😅 I kinda understand him saying “I hate this water, but you are okay, so I’ll just scream because I feel like I have to”. He has the same voice and volume as my 8 year old Bengal girl when she’s in the carrier crate in the car going to the vet.
It's the equivalent of a child sulking and whining loudly that they have to do something. I think of toddlers crying and wailing in bed cause they don't wanna sleep even though they're tired.
It never occurred to me until now that Mayo is super vocal for a Persian. I've heard they're not normally this chatty 🤣 but we love the little grumpy baby
My cat absolutely didn’t care but my dog did the exact same as Baxter, just looking for the cat and putting her head on my leg as if to say “heeeelp theeeem”
His little face and facial expression squashed against the glass is hilarious! Vanessa your skills as usual is so damn brilliant and your sense of humour is just wonderful as always! After the grooming Mayonnaise had to have the last say and growled at you…I like to think he said thank you…probably not🤣🤣🤣 The makings on Mayonnaise is beautiful, look forward to seeing him again!
Even my dog walked up when Mayo's bath started! She sympathizes; she'll happily play in a cool dirty lake all damned day (and she's 9yrs old 😀), but the nice warm comfy bath after ....oh the HORROR, WRETCHED LIFE, AAAA-GONY!! 😭😿🐶
I was watching this on my living room TV, and it seriously concerned my 3 cats, and even my Dutch Shepherd girl had to sit up and look to make sure the kitty was okay. ❤
Undignified, humiliating ass name, lol. I don't know why we can't give an animal a respectable name like we do ourselves, instead we have to name them after fucking memes like we ourselves would want to be called a fucking meme everyday. Christ.
My cats were very concerned about A) who Mayo was and what he was doing on my desk and B) Mayo's health and well-being with all the drama. LOL He's a beautiful kitty.
Believe it or not, my two Australian Shepherds had practically the same reactions and concerns! Both are riveted to me, hopping into my lap in search of the flustered Mayo…. After this demonstration, I can no longer describe why my older girl does in her grooming protests as “drama Queen performances.” Mayo has earned designation as as Honorary Husky🤣🤣🤣
I actually mute the volume so as to avoid the distress it has the potential to cause my cat. It's hard for me to listen, as well, because the agony is so real. Poor little Mayo!
Every time I see Mayonnaise I cry because he looks exactly like our cat KrazyKat who passed away. Even the temperament is the same and we miss him dearly.
The dramatic condiment is back! Poor Mayo, screaming his little head off at the merest touch of water. You'd think he's melting down the drain, by his hysterics. Best of health to spicy Mayonnaise. May he bless us for a long time with his distinctive yowls.
It fills me with joy when I see the word "spicy" referring to cats acting a bit more aggressive than typical. It just makes any of their pet names funnier.
Highly impressed that Mayonnaise didn't try to escape more. It's like he knows how much better it'll make him feel but hates the process. (I can relate)
He`s probably screaming that waterboarding is illegal, and when he escapes from this hellhole how he`s going to go to the Humane Society and make a formal complaint; that he`s going to take her to court for severe animal abuse and get her whole operation shut down. XD Meanwhile, groomer: Oh hush. You`re perfectly fine.
I'm really impressed with the length of the fuse on this cat. He's hilarious, but he's so good! I also find it amusing that there's an extremely loud, dramatic miaow for "wahhhhh, gerroff, you're so MEAN" during the bath, and a distinctly different, much more gutteral miaow for "I'm seconds away from relieving you of your skin, fyi".
I love at the beginning, during the claw clipping, he gives you that glare, like he's plotting your demise. Good to see the spicy Mayo back in fine form.
I owned a Persian for 18 years. He was the kindest, most affectionate cat. In all those years he never hissed, scratched, or bit me. You did so well with this Persian.
He might be spicy and grumpy, but he's actually fairly tolerant, too. After all, how many cats would have got so far long in their groom before they tried to attack? Mind you, saying that, he's got a magnificent line in Killer Looks. Forget about being buried six feet under- if Mayo had his way, you'd be interred in the core of the planet!
Not gonna lie, if I see a video uploaded with Mayonnaise, I'm about 99% more likely to watch. His love affair with the dryer gets me every time. Very cute meows.
My boy cat screamed just like this every time I took him to the vet. He would start crying in the car on the way to the doctor, and wouldn’t stop until we got home. I miss him. He was such a lovey boy.❤
Mayo only lets you live through the bath so he can just relax in the dryer 😂 I love this silly spicy fluffball. And for all his screaming like he's being boiled alive, he just stands there! Minimal attempts to actually escape.
