I love going to Mcdonald's in other countries and in Japan the McDonald's were serving spicy chicken nuggets and it was DELICIOUS. Also got to try some traditional Kyoto desserts.

Dont feel bad about the amount of baked stuff. A coupel of days a go i witnessed a salaryman geting one of EWERYTHING in the bakery. He ended up paying around 2500yen. The most expencive item in the bakery was 150 yen..... His face had a look of total bliss as he drunkenly wobbeld around. It was the most uplifting thing i seen in a month.

Thing is, the people that would laugh at him would laugh even more if he showed them his youtube page. We all live in different worlds being made out of past experience, morality and so on :) having 700k followers on youtube could mean as much as finding a stick in the woods for someone else.

I can't wait to visit Japan for the first time, i'm going in April for 2 weeks with my partner, dropping off and starting in Osaka, then going to Kyoto, then going to Nara, then back to Osaka for the last few days, so excited!

There aren't many public trash cans for, in Japanese culture it is considered kinda rude or nasty to eat in public. This comes from the Japanese philosophy of uchi to soto. Inside outside. . . Edit: This philosophy, is built into Japanese society, and you can see it in everything they do.

There are a few exceptions about eating in public I think (that are obvious). One is eating in recreational areas like parks where people have picnics. Another one is food stalls, I think it's ok to eat there by the stall.

People eat in public in Japan all the time. Trash cans were taken away after a terrorism incident and just not put back.

kobzster06 What does the random places have to do with the issue of trash cans though? Even if you stand by the side of a building and not walk along the street, you still have trash to dispose of.

My Japanese friends who live in Tokyo told me the same thing. Maybe that's part of why there's almost no trash on the streets there compared to in big American cities even though there are garbage cans everywhere. Hopefully this philosophy continues.

Never knew you can cook it that way too @6:44. I grew up with my mom always just cooking it in oil then sprinkle a little salt on it and dip it in syrup. Salty, Sweet, Cunchy, Chewy, delicious :)

OMG I'm so happy you went to St. Mark's! Dude, I was living in Shinjuku, Takadanobaba to be exact, for months, and St. Mark's was my godsend for breakfast before I hopped on the train. I loved their stuff so much, especially the crust on those egg sandwiches. You have no idea how much I crave that stuff still, or maybe you do, because you've been there now. But the place is amazing.

Found out 2 years ago that Puerto Rico has bamboo forest. We got lost driving. Like almost met our death no joke. We drive through the truijlo mountains. And we found bamboo everywhere it was so beautiful. Mind you we grew up going to pr all our lives.

You can rent those. Plenty of places in Kyoto rent them out to tourists. Hakama for men and kimono for women.

Please don't tell people to carve their names on bamboo! Tourists have been doing that at Arashiyama recently, and it harms the bamboo in a big way. They end up having to cut the whole tree down. 😔

For those watching hoping to try the spicy nuggets in Japan. IT IS A LIMITED TIME THING. They had it for a few weeks in the summer. It was the 2nd time they brought it back though, so maybe they might bring it back again, but don't count on it.
