the slower gameplay is actually good i think it lets you have a more enjoyable gameplay instead of just getting ur character to run at 100km/h from beginning to the end of the map all the time

Exactly. It allows you play the GAME, not just the build. A slow gameplay means your playing will matter more

Only the top 10% of players make the noise about zoom gameplay, I guarantee new players don’t want this.

Of course they have to slow down the game, there's nothing left to do with poe1's style of combat. What is left to do? People just 1. Zoom around maps blowing stuff up 2. Speculate about the trading market and manage spreadsheets. There isn't any design room left for actual gameplay in poe1, and why do people want poe1 again? You can just keep playing poe1, zooming around the map blowing up the entire screen over and over, if that's what I you want. I'm glad poe2 will be something different, something perhaps deeper and more meaningful.

Plus, even if it has a “ slower” pace it looks like the player has to make so many more decisions per second which is what really matter in my opinion. Like having to do precise combos and have that weigh that against the bosses move set and also think about so many other little intricacies in the combat looks so much better than the screen wiping in poe1 (which I still really like but I just think that actually seeing what goes on is better for the health of the game)

I don’t understand how people advocate for that in every game😂 there should be always a viable option to do it both ways. If you wanna go fast and have seizures, go ahead. If you want to take it slow and methodical, that should be viable too.

A lot of people complaining of slow combat but we haven’t seen end game. We’ve seen what act 1 and 2 early campaign…

Combat cannot be as fast as POE 1. It woudl make 90% of the mechancis in POE 2 useless. The fact that the cobmat is slower is the BEST thing in this game.

As someone with 5k hours in PoE I believe Johnathan misspoke about the campaign. The first 2 acts are some of the most dated content in the game, and doesn't hold a candle to anything we see in PoE 2. What I think he is referring to is that part 2 of the campaign is mostly reskined zones from the first 5 acts, where in PoE 2 each act will be it's own unique area, with its own biomes, monsters, cultures, etc.

I think it's just the monsters that look slow. We don't see how much the player is hammering his mouse and keyboard while playing. I think we have to use a lot more skills, swapping weapons/ammo, dodging in and out of the fight etc. Also WASD movement will be a completely new experience. So I think we probably will have more actions per second for the player while the monsters look slow and lumbering..

I welcome the slower game pace a lot, PoE1 always felt like being on crack and speed. I am also glad that poe2 will be less cluttered, poe1 had so many effects and things going on at the same time that you could barely see what was actually going on on your screen.

i think we will be surprised by how much faster character gets on lvl 90-100. Look at PoE1 Act 1-3.. it's super slow too. We haven't seen endgame yet. I think we will be blown away!

Nope.. If the game ever got as fast asa POE 1 they woudl never spend time adding dodge and active blocking and focus on combo on skills.

I'm sure it won't be but does anyone know if PoE2 will be on Ps5 during the early access period? I believe Xbox has allowed that before but I don't think I've ever seen Sony allow it, but with it being a Live Service that's free to play I think it's possible, idk does anyone know if the devs have talked about that?

Overall this is very good news. I'm abit disappointed they are not going to address the 5 flask system. It's quite outdated system that also adds early complexity that really isn't needed. Not to mention its extra buttons - so console players will most likely be shafted.

You can use one button for health and one for mana. If the flask is empty it will automatically pick the next available one

I use controller for POE 1 and flasks are not a problem. I actually find it much easier to use more button intensive builds with controller.

You never played on console… this was addressed a long time ago. Also most flask are auto flask by endgame.

@ChristianHeid7, I suggest you watch my POE 2 consolse video it speaks to all the changes specifically made for console players. GGG now has a whole team dedicated to console, they are leaving no stone unturned! 🙃

@@pikachu2003I know they are auto by endgame. You did not see the talk about complexity for early game? If the goal is to make it simple in the end.. then wonder why POE is not very beginner friendly. Secondly.. NO - it has never been properly addressed.

If someone wants fast zoom zoom.. PLAY POE1 dammit! This game is for us that have waited for years for a game with proper PLAYING where your actions in combat matter, not only the build.

@@theunfazed7109 No it is NOT. POE 1 will continue. POE 1 is the game they decided to keep for the peopelthat like that style. POE 2 is for people that are open for somethign different.
