Unfortunately, I play on console, so I can't play in it. I have a Lenovo laptop w/ a Ryzen 7 and GF 4050, so I think it could handle the game (?), but I'm not sure about trying to play on the small screen. I'm use to playing on console on a 55" tv. When I try to connect the laptop to my TLC tv, it doesn't register (no pic/video). ??
I'm gonna run Witch. Blaster with a Minion meatshield. Witch actually seems like she has access is to a good amount of defense, life and resistances on the passive tree. That way I can focus on grabbing items with health and Energy shield for tanking. Not going to touch the Lab until I get Golems, one of them gives a ton of life regen.

People are choosing sides for no reason. You like both, great. If you dont, you play the one you like most. They are working on both games simultaneously. All microtransactions are shared between the 2 games so it doesnt matter what game you play and buy for, they will make the same money. Who cares if people dont like one or the other, the good thing is there will be a PoE for everyone and the more players in that ecosystem the better. The only "camp" is GGG vs everyone elses ARPGs.
The balance will be the deciding factor. If it is "too ruthless" then it will be a no lifer only party. Also how much of "MMO skill rotations" it will also scare away players. For me: it can be hard but if it is hard it has to be rewarding. Grinding the whole day for nothing just isn't fun^^
Please be aware. If you have never played PoE1 before and you're waiting for PoE2, download PoE1 and make a character. Last week during a stash tab sale I bought some tabs. But because I was making purchases on a new and empty account GGG thought it was fraudulent activity. So after a few days they refunded my purchases and locked my account. GGG unlocked my account after a quick email, but I want people to not make the same mistake as me. Because now I have to wait for the next stash tab sale.
I am a POE 2 extremist.... I will play only POE 2 and I await the day I can forget forever the bane that was Zoom zoom and dumb single button "gameplay"( between brackets because single button is not a gameplay)
How can anyone want so hard to avoid the campaign? It is part of the game.. and no.. the first half of the maps is NOT more interesting.. it is extremely bland!
your 3 categories, to me, don't truly describe me. I love POE, and play it to really get everything I can out of it, I might be considered part of the "ggg Optimist" camp, and when POE2 comes out, I plan to play it exclusively, and aim to also get everything out of it, which, I know, will take a very long time, and, maybe I'll burn out, of course, plus, maybe it won't be as fun as POE1, meaning I will go back to POE1. so the "hybrid" camp you described fits the best, but, it still doesn't quite fit. I see POE2 as the next chapter in POE1, and, so, I plan to play POE2 as if it's the next level in POE1. I will go back and play POE1 at some point just to remember the good ole days
I played PoE's main campaign and I generally found myself having a good time. Then, I found the end-game off-putting and hard to get into and so that's where my PoE career ended.
Forth group of players - is Ruhtless poe 1 players. I tried 3 times regular poe 1 and could not finish campaign. Game was to easy and to bored for me. Ruthless mode opened for me new side of this game. This season i finished with 8/8 challenges and I'm looking for poe 2, I hope it will be at least not easier then Ruthless.
I started playing PoE in closed beta. What we had of Act 1 was reason why I upgraded my supporter package. Because they delivered spiritual child of Diablo 1 darkness and danger. See, PoE 2 being slower instead of cookie-cutter is not new direction, it is return back to PoE roots. Considering number of MTX, I have. I have at minimal 2 years of PoE 2 before I get to enjoy all of them.
I feel like I'm gonna be a poe 2 player strictly. Being able to out skill instead I'd just out gear situations sounds like an engaging game where at time's POE feels like a Sim.
I played a lot of PoE and my n.1 complain is about the transition from optimal 2 skill builts to 1 skill builds, the gameplay lost a lot when that happened. More situational combat with more usable skills in a built got me hyped.
When were bosses ever bullet sponges, most of them were 1 shottable. It was embarrassing. PoE 2 bosses are a welcomed change. Path of Exile wasn't meant for casuals, if you're casual go play D4 and leave PoE 2 alone instead of whining about its difficulty. The original Path of Exile was the same way Path of Exile 2 is right now when it was at its beginning, it was a challenge and much more slow. They f'ed that up by listening to casuals over time and now they're correcting that with PoE 2, most of the people whining about the difficulty increase were not Path of Exile players when the game launched they only experienced what it was after it became kiddo mode years later. They don't have to take it in the same direction as the first game, both exist. Choose your playstyle and pick the one that suits you.
I may fall into the hybrid player camp but I certainly can see myself exclusively playing POE2. Mostly due to POE2 having 12 classes more focus on skilland combo synergy. For me these games aren't about Endgame. All I see is talk about Endgame this, Endgame That. Endgame. Endgame. Endgame. My enjoyment of POE at the moment is the variety of builds I can create. Viable or Not.
It's all copium. All of it is just pure Afghan, Kandahar copium. PoE 2 is the big, long awaited, game changing ARPG...so was Cyberpunk 2077. GGG is the underdog, independent, player first game develeoper...so was CD Projekt Red. Camp 1 being the PoE 1 loyalists is the same BS as the D2 loyalists who hate D4 because it's not the exact same game as D2.
Well when it comes to Diablo that is kind of what happens when the first 2 games were developed by a branch that no longer existed for Diablo 3 & 4. The people whining about the previous 2 games not being the same as Diablo 1 & 2 are delusional, they don't even realize that none of the original developers of the Diablo franchise work at Blizzard anymore. They expected a completely different team of developers to create the same product as another, it's just ridiculous.
I am definitely camp 2, playing PoE2 exclusively. I did try to get into Poe1 a number of years ago and finished the story and some early maps but never made it to max level. PoE1 even if it wasn't for the complexity, a new player can sort feel like they "missed the boat", because of all the content and leagues they have missed in the past. With PoE2 though you have not only a completely different combat feel, a tremendous graphics upgrade, tutorials/guides/pop-up info to help you (should you need it), you have a chance to get in on it from the beginning, you wont miss a thing. I am excited to be able to do this and not feel like I've missed out this time.
But you won't have that feeling, many mechanics are already in POE 2. You could have built up transferrable knowledge and now you'll be immediately behind anyone who has played POE 2. Your logic doesn't follow unfortunately.
Under the current and standing changes in PoE 2, and with current problems building an effective t17 custom build in PoE for me. I feel I'm going to be in the exclusive PoE2 camp. EDIT: the major addition, I'm hyped for, is the ability to see the stat changes in game with out having to use Path of Building.
The poe trailers are always slowed down but even if they want poe 2 to be slow, they will eventually miss something and there will be a fast build that they can't remove without too much backlash. We gonna zoom boys, i have faith. Also, Mark loves blasting so he won't leave us hanging.
