My Mom was dying in hospice, and I decided to leave to be with her in her final moments. I was told there is nothing I can do for her and should not take the break to visit her. I ended up taking the break anyways, I don't regret it in the slightest, I just started taking summer classes to make up for it.

I lost my dad to cancer in 2009, You never forget your loved ones, but you get used to the pain and remember them for the best. My dad would rather have me laughing than sulking, so best advice I have for you is that if you can't handle these jokes, come back when you do. No shame in not wanting to dishonor your brother. Again, I laugh because my father would rather me do that than sulk or get angry, but in the end it's up to me to handle it.
