@fenidiv4325 with out the symbiote surge? Doing the hide outs on ultimate? You die in 2 hits on ultimate, that was pretty hard if you ask me, made me do stealth till I broke the coms for back up
@@gherwincarreon6001 yeah l guess calling the stealth hard in this game is also dependant on the person, its pretty easy to cheese the ai in this game. Spamming weblines all over the place seems to be a dominant strategy and the lack of gadgets does make these stealth sections less interesting for me bc you really can’t get creative at all anymore
@youngfargo8099 for story.... Yall complain about everything too short too long too slow to fast, it's a good spiderman story with good mechanics who cares I'm just glad they still make spiderman games...
@@gameplaysfordayz5967 wait.. you liked taking pictures of brooklyn high and helping two dudes prom proposals as spiderman over playing as the black suit ?? 🤯
They really wanted to stick it to the people that didn't like them in the first game. How dare we not want to play as a regular human in a game about a superhero that can punch through walls and travel at 70 miles an hour through New York City.
@@everythingnerd4953 wtf are you talking about they said it word for word that's why they did it 😭😭 Talking bout I don't get i guess neither do the devs 🤷♂️😂😂
How about they add the gadgets back but they keep the wheel as well. So it would be how it is in Spider-Man 2 but if you don’t want to use the gadgets you have you can use the wheel to use the other gadgets using both mechanics
But then that means people constantly switching them out mid-mission through the menu, breaking immersion. Just have them all available in the wheel like the first game.
As someone who never used the gadgets in the first game I see this as an absolute win cause I absolutely loved the combat and stealth anyway in Spider-Man 2
If u think about it, still fits the story. Peter wouldn’t use stealth unless he absolutely needs to with the symbiote. Make u feel like a god. For miles, he’s got cammo he’ll be fine
@@Bori.1776Yea but in the first game stealth was boring too ngl. Also didn't like how in the fisk hideout stealth missions, you would always be forced to get caught when it was the last two guys forcing you to do four waves of enemies.
@@aurielayala9683 I agree with the getting caught thing. Irked the shit outta me. I think the had a good foundation for stealth but they didn’t improve on it. They got lazy for the sequel in a lot of ways
In Arkham games stealth in those sections was mandatory, since Batman dies very quickly to guns. One or two gunners are doable since he can Batclaw one gun away and probably stun the other guy, but a full room of thugs with guns is a deathtrap without stealth. Spider-Man fights multiple gunners constantly so the stealth doesn't seem as necessary.
Tbh it makes sense why they didn't care about stealth think about if your filled with rage and want to destroy everything u want to brute force it not hide in the shadows talking out enemies one at a time it about sending a message to them.
I think the point of not having so much gadgets in MS2 was not to rely on the gadgets so much which would make it more difficult to survive. If you think about it, we had quite an advantage with the amount of gadgets we had in the previous games. We relied more on our skills, attacks, and abilities instead in MS2. I’m not complaining, and who knows, maybe they’ll add it back in the updaters or DLCs
@@Megatron-wI agree with you that it takes more skill to use those gadgets in the first game... You might like it but I don't hahaha I got zero skills on utilizing those gadgets and it felt more of a gimmick to me.
Idk about you guys but pressing the "Special" as Peter and just Brute punching everyone with maximum bass and sound in my headset was one of the most satisfying thing to do in a videogame
Agreed. But I felt, why introduce the zipline if stealth feels empty or pointless? I thought it was counterintuitive to be honest. I too miss stealth as well. Hope it returns in 3
@@mexicanadian0846yeah all they did for stealth was web line. They introduced it to us and got people hyped but never mentioned it’s the ONLY new stealth change lmao. Seems weird
I thought the stealth in this game was still pretty fun. You can upgrade the sonic blast into a lure during stealth, and the web lines allowing for better takedowns later made stealth more streamlined for me. I do think they should have had more gadgets and let you swap them like the abilities.
I didn’t personally see anything wrong with the gadgets in this game, I hated pulling up the wheel every time I wanted to use a gadget so I ended up almost never using gadgets for any of the stealth missions, I just stealthfully took everyone down with the normal webs
yea same. even in this game I tried to not rely on the web lines too much unless I needed to take 2 enemies out at once with that skill or there's no other angle. ive always preferred webbing everybody up to walls and the ceiling like how Spidey probably would actually do it
It's not so much the gadget wheel being gone that's the issue, as what the gadgets in the first game actually were. You had the trip mine, impact web, web bomb, and taser webs that were pretty fun to use in stealth. In Miles' game he had the remote mine. In the new game, the ricochet web is good, but all the other ones just force you into combat.
This makes no sense. Hating the gadget wheel mid combat is fair enough, it’s why the arkham games have quick fire and why they changed things in spiderman 2. But hating it in stealth? Bro what 😂 Half of stealth is you perched observing and looking for opportunities. Switching gadgets takes like 1 second and even slows down time for you so that you don’t miss your opportunity. You are almost always stationary while changing gadgets in stealth
@@A.H.goose1 ok? I don’t remember caring how long it took to pull the wheel out to pick a gadget to use, that wasn’t even the point of my comment but go off I guess
I remember using spider bro and the bots while surrounded. I could stand surrounded by enemies and let them do the work. It was pretty OP. The gadgets should have stayed but they should have been swappable so we could use them in a style of our own.
Despite stealth being heavily ignored in the game, any missions that allowed you to start in stealth were the missions i did 100% finish in stealth. There was maybe one Hunter base that i finished off the last 3 or 4 hunters with guns blazing but that was it
I loved stealth. It made me feel like an actual spider in a weird way as I was making spider webs since I was creating the most applicable patterns in the sky with the web lines for the room at hand. Just my opinion tho 🤷
Honestly this is fine since basically we heavily depended on the gadgets and used them all the time to survive. For this tho it really came in handy more when it came to fighting the symbiotes. With stealth, Peter would be stealthy but the Peter with the symbiote does not care about stealth but would go crazy in combat which suits it better
Everyone is saying symbiote Peter wouldn’t care about stealth which i agree, but i think they had a chance to make things actually scary and put fear in enemies similar to how he made MJ feel. We could’ve gotten a more intimidating stealth Peter, who made enemies get terrified like how Batman did in the Arkham games, Batman literally made enemies heart rates increase and that was a cool thing to see
Although I heavily disagree about the gadgets, I do admit it was a huge missed opportunity to not incorporate the Symbiote into stealth. We know that it can shapeshift and mimic other clothing, so they could've had it work like Prototype where you disguise yourself as a hunter to walk around hunter bases undetected, like in the party mission where he disguises himself as a waiter. Have it be mapped to the same button as Miles' invisibility. That way both of them have unique stealth powers.
To be fair, gadgets in the first game didn't really make stealth good. Every gadget was either a one-shot ability, or a distraction ability. Trip Mine was the best example of a good stealth gadget, whereas Impact Web was just a non-lethal gun. In Spider-Man 2, they encouraged for more deliberate stealth with the zipline, and they allowed for more explosive potential with the new gadgets being able to relocate and distract enemies. If anything, I wouldn't say Spider-Man 2 RUINED stealth; instead, Spider-Man was never good at stealth, but Spider-Man 2 didn't really do enough to make it any better. I think it would be cool to have "Stealth Gadget Toolkit" which would switch in when Spidey is undetected. Then you could have cool gadgets like Trip Mine and other traps while not sacrificing the speed of combat. Plus, most of the fun in Spider-Man Ps4's stealth came from Suit Powers. That shit was funny
Stealth is still creative with wall and ceiling takedowns, and making a whole web of web lines is interesting. Also the gadgets were op, they shifted the creativity and power into other aspects of the moveset.
add a couple extra gadgets for stealth, remove the game literally telling you it’s safe to take someone out and add line-of-sight cones like the TASM 2 game. i think just these few changes would add a layer of difficulty and creativity we haven’t seen in any of the three games. i don’t mind the web lines as i’d prefer to be able to do them because Spider-Man definitely should be able to, but i try to limit the use because they’re very powerful. the only other request i have is to add a mechanic similar to Arkham Knight where if an enemy sees one of his fellows webbed to a wall or vantage point, they’ll cut them down. i don’t want to see it just copy and paste Arkham, but they don’t even try to help each other when they find one of their own webbed up.
I still had fun with the stealth in this game but I hope that they do improve it and maybe even let the game be longer, I don’t have any issue with the game but I would love to see the sequels and spin-offs being longer from this point
People can enjoy games how they like. If they like to have mire variety, more options than thats not a problem. If you dont like the gadgets, dont use them. No need to be an ass about it because someone likes to have more gadgets. Who cares if it's "on baby mode"? Games are meant to be fun. If you need a challenge for that to happen, but that's fine. Point is, as long as people are having fun with a game, who cares? Besides, the point he's making isnt that it's too hard, just that he found it boring. So, in that case, your remark makes no sense
100% agree. Stealth in games is already often too difficult or too easy and almost always far too tedious as is. Making it more boring gives a player no reason to do it.
Getting rid of the weapon wheel was a great idea. It means combat is fluid because it's not being interrupted the whole time by having to bring up the wheel. I think the first game had too many gadgets as well. Spiderman isn't really about having a million different gadgets at the ready, it's better streamlined.
i feel, if in spider-man 3, they add hostage rescue missions, like if you get discovered, the hostage dies, and make stealth a more usable option, then stealth would be more used
I feel like having less gadgets made stealth more difficult, which made you have to think twice as hard about how to complete a stealth mission without getting caught.
I only really miss the Trip Mines but I’m glad the gadgets were actually cut down. Constantly scrolling through a weapon wheel completely breaks the pace of the fights. I prefer that Spider-Man 2 encourages you to fight hand to hand more and pushes you to get good at dodging and parrying. Yes the stealth suffered a bit because of the lack of gadgets but even in Spider-Man 1, stealth was still so easy and not as challenging and barely had creativity compared to the Batman Arkham Series
Simply put, the whole point of the symbiote is that it makes Peter all gung-ho. He doesn’t give af about stealth, he only needs the brute force from the symbiote
I miss some of the gadgets but it makes stealth a little harder and i like that. Makes sense with symbiote spidey too because hes much more aggressive.
Spiderman 2 has that Arkham asylum-level bare-bones stealth which I personally like because it makes it more challenging but I can also understand how some people might find the stealth boring
It’s crazy how the first game still outshine the second one with better variety. The gadgets, in the first one, weren’t just great for stealth but they were also extremely versatile in combat and combining them felt satisfying. Only thing that second one really did better was the web slinging and a bit more moves.
Playtesters complained about no stealth missions and they didn't want to add them in so they flimily changed a couple missions to have stealth possibilities but didn't bother to make it indepth.
I rarely ever used the gadgets in the first game during stealth. It always went: perch web, perch web, do that a few more times, then web strike the last guy. Same with Spider-Man 2 and Miles Morales. Never changed it because I never felt the need to do it any other way than the easy way.
What killed stealth the most for me is when I discovered I could cheat by walking on the weblines and hanging everyone off them. It was fun at first trying to create my own spider web until I discovered the limit of weblines you can have and how OP this was by capturing two at once
Tbh I didn’t like the web abilities in the last game, I just like to turn my brain off and just fight waves of enemies without gadgets and it also just makes u fell more bad ass especially in the 2nd game.
The first game had shit stealth too, the only upgrade they gave this new stealth is web lines which js genuinely so good. The only good stealth are the Mj missions in sm2
Admittedly, saying you got caught early in an encounter shouldn’t really be used as evidence of poor stealth mechanics or effectively highlight the symbiotes ease of use and I’d argue the encounters where stealth is possible are just as good as the first game. The addition of the web zip line eliminates the need for a lot of the gadgets we had previously” Stealth might not have been a dev “priority”, but it’s there and in my opinion it’s better as it forces a player to be more “proactive” with their movement and positioning with more ceiling and wall takedown opportunities alongside the web zip line and less find a perch point to “sit and wait” - which creates the Batman comparison.
I agree just imagine how bad it would have been if Warner brothers removed gadgets from Batman the Arkham Knight! Honestly if that happened it would've been impossible to do nightmare difficulty in Arkham Knight!
To be honest, I kinda didn't mind how the stealth was compared to Spider Man PS4. Sure they may have taken away the gadgets and focused on the symbiote but I don't mind it
The second game for sure has this fast-paced vibe. The most baffling thing is that the other gadgets didn't have to be removed. They could've made it so that you can pause, select the gadgets you prefer, or find suitable depending on the situation. Just any way to bring them back because not only was Stealth boring, it's too easy.
"Not only was stealth boring, it's too easy." So... Exactly like the first game? Because the first game's stealth was BRAINDEAD easy. Hell, it's so easy, the game literally forced you out of stealth and into a full blown fight most of the time in the first game. (Something I hated, since the first game practically punishes you for trying to be stealthy) it's kind of ironic that this dude is complaining about stealth being pointless in the sequel... When the first game CONSTANTLY made the stealth pointless.
I found removing several of the gadgets to be a big mistake. I can see removing some of the ones that were not really used by players, but let me have my freaking impact webbing.
As much as we complained about mj missions… they really sat there and added 4 more to this game I audibly groaned the first time I had a mission and realized I was playing as her 🤕
I’m glad we don’t have gadgets. Spidey would just have webs and the web line really, not a trip mine, concussive wave, and 8+ gadgets on standby, web grenade makes sense to have. And as for stealth, I hate stealth, I’d rather fight, but really I be using the web zip line and be picking everybody off, don’t matter if it’s it Peter or Miles. Also, I know stealth was a bigger emphasis in the first game, but if you got caught, what would happen? Would they still come after you and you still continue the mission? Huh, that’s what this game does too.
Removing gadgets was good for fighting and bad for stealth also the miles game was pretty focused on steath so we had already gotten that and it was time to show the raw power of the symbiote
I miss the bigger variety of gadgets too. I liked ricochet web and the grabber gadget, but the other two gadgets sucked, and definitely preferred how they were selected in the first games too. Only reason to be stealthy is so you can hear the enemy chatter
When you play as Miles, then there is a focus on Stealth even also if you play as Peter you can also have stealth options too, you just need to be patient enough to figure it out
It sucks sure. But some of those gadgets were way OP. And this wasn’t the story for it either. They did it to make combat flow better. Also. Maybe it’s just me….I had a lot of fun making my own web structures and hanging enemies for them in creative designs…then taking a photo with my work. Lol
I honestly don’t care about stealth I’m a Spider-Man game. Batman is different because a big part of his identity is about being a ninja and stealth takedowns. In the first Spider-Man game, I felt like they were ripping off Batman, which was a wrong move. I’m honestly glad that they didn’t go more stealthy this game.
All honesty, making stealth entirely reliant on getting close and taking advantage of the environment is far better than the first game where it was “Impact web and trip wire everything.” Felt a lot more like the Arkham series predator segments as Peter and Moles had to use the environment as well as takedowns like Batman.
I think that’s what they wanted people to do with the symbiote suit. They wanted to make stealth seem boring for Peter when he has that suit because the suit wants to fight and kill.. that’s why it ends up being so much more fun to brute force.. it’s kinda the suits thing
I get it because if anyone watched the animated series. Black symbiote spiderman says he rather do things bruthe force as opposed to "crawling in vents"
The web line was the only thing added that was really good for stealth (and tbf the web line is AMAZING) but yeah, as a stealth enthusiast it really bums me out that in this game stealth isn’t needed at all. I wish they added missions which required stealth like in the first game.
I thought it had the perfect blend of stealth options and brute force fighting. This time the MJ missions were way more tolerable because of the stun gun stealth take downs, and any time I used Miles I’d clear rooms without ever being seen.
The zip line was all the stealth you needed tbh 😂 I took down a lot of flame hideouts and other missions just by putting hella zip lines in all angles and webbing enemies up lmao dude in the video spacin, the web zip line made you be creative in stealth
@@TheSmar09 most people who play really aren’t that good in the game because I did that exact same thing. 😂😭 I had to force myself to stop using the zip line as much because I was cleaning whole hideouts.
I found it really good story wise when miles got caught and Peter shows up I was expecting stealth until I got caught but Peter with venom was like “nah fuck stealth” and instantly went in
I’m not usually one to use gadgets or anything like that because I prefer to zip around really fast and do takedowns from walls or vantage points or slack lines/wires. So being able to make my own wires and quickly unlocking the upgrade that lets you grab two guys at once and I was cruising through stealth sections with no problems whatsoever in no time flat this time around.
I was really good @ stealth in the first game and miles morales. Now I’m decent @ it since they took away gadgets and I’m only good with Miles because of his powers that Peter doesn’t have. The gadgets made me op with it in the first couple games because you need better distractions/weapons to lure enemies away.
I’m fine with the removal of the gadget wheel and the overall reduction of gadgets. I would I liked to have maybe two different ones added in that could be switched out like the suit powers, but I think the new system is an improvement. Now as for stealth, I can agree that it has mattered less since the previous games, but the entire time I played the game I was under the impression that since you can choose to do most side missions as either Peter or Miles, you were choosing wether to go in loud or sneak around respectfully. Even then, I had just as much fun and didn’t notice either approach to be more difficult than the other
It was a massive fail getting rid of the gadgets. They made combat dynamic and fun.You could uppercut a dude into the air, stick a trip mine on him, dodge backwards whilst another dude walked under him n got caught in the trip mine and they smashed together mid air. You could stick them on the walls and wait for goons to run over and one by one they smash into the wall etc etc They messed up
