@@afiftyringgitu know the point of Twitter right? Its designed to just say what u think at that moment of time without really thinking about it. And considering Twitter has a media presence there is incentive to grift for clout. Meaning if there is a stance on anything Twitter will have it.
@@yourfriendlyneighbourhoodl6206 in the first game peter and miles talk about physics of a pendulum, and how it really makes a difference when you're the thing on the end of the string
@@yourfriendlyneighbourhoodl6206peter told miles that he needs to know physics and math to be able to learn how to web swing effectively. so he should take his Homework more serious about it
@dominicballinger6536 naw it is like Tony Hawk cuz if it was like skate then your right trigger would be your right hand web swing and your left l2 button would be your left hand web swing and then u could use both hands at the same time and stuff. 😅
@hatchell18 not really spiderman 2 2004 still gave you more control swinging and controlling the web. You could do infinite loops and can hang on to the web. Also if you are too close to the ground than you can walk while still hanging onto the line. Spiderman 2 2004 is still the goat web swinging.
It’s not as simple as “10 is faster”. Having it at 0 gives you much more control, as all of the automation and correction is removed, which in some situations can make your swinging more technical or skilled if you know how to handle it. Playing at 10 gives you much less agency over how you swing.
@@musclecargarage2875 no you can’t lol no tanks no nukes no aliens no cool enemies and just people who wanna keep space pg13 except if it’s a pirate smh pirates have it rough
Smart Game devs know that it's important to go for "assisted realism" so that swinging feels satisfying, fun, and accessible. Big Brain Game devs give you the option to turn it off if you want to try mastering it.
Yes Its stuff like this that Helps everyone my only complaint is that the hardcore spiderman fans will start making fun of people for just wanting a streamlined swinging experience
@@RaiginAnimatorI mean to be fair they've been doing that long before Spider-Man 2. A lot of people (me included) hated out streamlined Spidey 1's swinging was compared to the PS2 games and WOS and some too it too far and mocked people for enjoying the swinging in Spidey 1
Lol but.. Still not... In this 2nd Spider-Man 2 you have to press l3 or r3 to dive, when in the first Spider-Man 2 you have to press x, so the same button for jumping
Nope, it doesn't remotely compare. PS5 spider man doesn't have a physics engine for web swinging, it relies completely on animations. You can't even do a loop without unlocking it as a skill.
In the first game you would also float above the road while swinging close to it, and it made me miss the ps2 game, where spidey would run on the road still holding the webs and then continue swinging like normal
@@DeathtotheAshesthey mentioned cause spider man 2 is from that era where the console it was on would actually change the fundamental mechanics. Try comparing the gba and pc version to the gamecube, xbox, and ps2 version. You just can't.
Having it on 3 honestly feels great. It’s very similar to 0 but without the added difficulty. You get that leaning towards a building effect like with 0 but it feels just that little more consistent. Definitely working towards mastering 0 at some point
It just shows us how much thought goes into webslinging for spidey in the first place. He has to time his webs taking into account his current speed and height as well as make the connection with the right building so as to make sure he can make the turns and straights to make speed and slow down. It’s not just a mindless process he’s always thinking about his next web placement.
Just the fact that this was added into the game goes to show how much they care about the game and pays homage to the og Spider-Man 2 proves why insomniac is the best studio for Spider-Man
@cast8060 idk but they have a classic symbiot suit in there with a color variet that has a red and blue outline on it like venom in the 90s animated series, its my 2nd fav suit so far
its part of the learning curve playing as spidey, like he didn't just get his powers and have that stuff mastered nor should the player, its part of the journey
Swing assist off just makes swinging feel like it's own mini-game. You have to plan ahead and think about the swinging more, which makes cool cinematic swing combos feel more satisfying to pull off.
0 assist is incredible. Full assist sometimes feels like you basically just flying while bobbing up and down. 0 assist forces you to actually consider the environment and make adjustments accordingly.
ironically the swing assist is the most accurate portrayal to how he would swing. The reason Parker never hits buildings or fall when he swings is because of his spider-sense, he never really considers the danger while swinging because he doesn’t have to, his body automatically does it.
@@sideeyed7682not how spider sense works he still has to respond to said danger accordingly or he’s toast it isn’t automatic he still has to consider what he’s doing
@@Domepeezy you’re misunderstanding how it actually works. His body has to react to the danger but he doesn’t necessarily have to be conscious himself otherwise it wouldn’t work while he’s sleeping which it’s been proven to have. It’s not some alarm clock that just warns him, it’s form of precognition that warns him of any upcoming threat, and if he’s faster than said threat his reflexes would react to it. That explains why he’s able to effortlessly do it without consideration in battle and why his body will make a sudden reflex when hes ambushed. Plus it’s been explained throughout his run how much it’s aid his swinging. Your notion of it is actually a big misconception, Spidersense will consider the threat before peter even has any knowledge of it.
@@sideeyed7682 having spider sense doesn't let him defy physics though.. and swing in a straight line wherever he wants. it'd be cool if that was integrated differently and swing assist was like a spider sense though. just a quick flash or visual cue where time would slow for a second and you'd have time to react. Similar to when you're in combat.
One thing is, if you disable swing assist, as long as you do things right you might actually go faster than with assist Assist is Assist, its like training wheels on a bike, yes it makes things easier but you arent gonna keep them forever
One thing they forgot to put in 0 swing assist is that when Peter throws web and is very close to ground he should run while holding the web to create momentum
It would be cool if r2 shot the web. And L2 was a brake that let you chose how long the web is. That way you can make the swing arch shorter or longer.
What they also should have done with steering assistance at 0 was fixing the direction you go in while you're not using a web to swing, it should be a straight line in the direction he let go last, as Spider-Man can't fly or steer when floating in mid-air.
Not really, you would definitely be able to maneuver in the air a little bit and change your angle. You wouldn’t just be going straight, you would just always be moving forward
no it feels like you wanna get off the game. instead of swing steering they should have added swing sensitivity. that way you could really move left or right as fast of slow as you want. that would REALLY make you FEEL like Spider-Man
Been playing on 0 the whole game on Spectacular. Honestly, couldn’t ask for a better Spidey experience 😂 ESPECIALLY when it makes some of the chases a bit more challenging and action-packed. Not to mention how buttery smooth having zero swing assist feels (it always bothered me in the first game). Absolutely love this game!
As a programmer, what definitely happened was a dev made the web swinging thing with normal physics and then handed it over to be told to make it easy and didn’t wanna fully remove it
As a programmer, what definitely happend was that they took the swinging from the series which was assisted and added the option to remove the assists.
