Into the Spider-Verse used to be my favorite comic book film in general, until this one came out. If Beyond the Spider-Verse manages to do the same thing then this will definetly go down as my favorite trilogy not just from comic book films, but in general 👏🏻

I think Miles' encounter with Prowler Miles is gonna be the literal personification of Rio's wish for Miles to "protect that little boy" for her. Miles is gonna save everyone.
This movie actually makes me hate Multiverse of Madness now. This is how you do the multiverse justice, interesting characters that are formed by their unique environments and each place feels so extravagant and lived in I want to travel there myself. Spider-India is my favourite from this movie and how they were able to shove so many cameos and references that weren’t just for fan service but actually served the overall story and theme. I don’t care about Kang and Secret Wars anymore, just give me 5 more of this and a Silk movie
I also think Hobie was the surprise highlight of the film, he wasn’t the “cartoonish hypocrite” I worried he would be, everything he said in his intro was true, dude genuinely does not like authority lmao. Gwen’s prediction also came true, she said Miles and Hobie would get along great 😊
I’m a Hispanic that lives in Miami and the Hispanic jokes landed really well in my theater. Especially the counselor trying make Miles being Puerto Rican into a story of struggle 😂
I also thought it was funny how Miles tried to relate/suck up to Miguel with both being Hispanic and talking American Spanish bc I’ve been in that situation so many times
the thing i loved the most about this movie was how it just embraced everything Spider-Man without any judgements. we know how Hollywood tends to look down upon animation, videogames and even comic books, but this movie did none of that. it just embraced every Spider-Man game, comic, whether it be good or bad, without any judgement. there's references to the most obscure and unpopular Spider-Man videogames in here, the most obscure and weird Spider-Man characters from the comics..and the movie just embraced it all and proudly showcased it in this movie for the world to see. and embracing things the way they are without any judgement is probably the most Spider-Man thing ever. it's the most superhero thing ever. hell, it's the most STAN LEE thing ever! everything about this movie is so authentic to the essence of Spider-Man, and that just shows how much the creators of this movie love this character and this world. also i've only known peter parkedcar for 5 secs, but if ANYTHING happened to him, i would kill EVERYONE IN THIS WORLD, and then MYSELF!

To me, the portal staying open for that long felt like everything that happend in that time, everything he was thinking about, happend within a split second and it was just drawn out for the audience.
Yeah, this was a moment where the drama of the situation needed to fudge with time to provide the right emotional impact. If it actually happened as fast as it realistically should have, it would have read as Miles just jumping head first without even thinking about it. Slowed down, it shows that Miles is torn, but remembering the conversation he just had with his mom about going after what he wants/needs, and b/c of that, it shows his determination not to lose Gwen or a chance to connect with his friends again.
The only thing I felt this movie was missing was a "What's Up Danger?" moment. I can rewatch that "But when will I know I'm Spider-Man?" and "You won't Miles, it's just a leap of faith" scene a million times and it still gives me chills watching Miles jump off the building and free fall. Maybe it was there and I just missed it? Also, I have no idea who Metro Boom is and not really familiar with his sound.
I don't know if this was it but when fighting Miguel, Miles finally tells himself he's Spider-Man and pushes off the train with so much force it breaks a bit. For me that's the moment. It was quick but I think that was the moment.
For me it was the "I told you not to call me that anymore" in regards to Peter B. Calling him a kid. It was like a continuous moment from the first, here he is getting fully into adulthood
I believe the first trailer with Miguel fighting Miles in Mumbattan is actually just some test footage they produced early on to get a feel for all the different animation styles in the film. They likely boarded the sequence using key locations and actions intended for the film so they wouldn't be wasting time and resources producing assets they wouldn't already have needed anyway. That's why they go to India and Neuva York, and feature Miles clumsily falling into the city, and Miguel choke slamming miles. Those are all things that happen in the movie anyway. They just repurposed those moments to use as test footage. Few things to back the theory up. Firstly is the fact that they literally use some of the animation keyframes in the final film. Miles' whole teleportation and arrival in Mumbattan is, frame for frame, identical between the trailer and the final film, except for his eyes, which are slightly adjusted in the film as he arrives in Mumbattan. The reused keyframes go right up until he begins glitching. After that, the shot cuts to new footage. The other thing that differs between the trailer and the film is that, in the film, everybody (and everything) maintains the art style they had in their original universe, no matter what dimension they're in. A very clear example of this is when Gwen let's Miles look at her watch on the rooftop of Miles' apartment. The watch retains the artstyle of Miguel's dimension, which you can see in the sketchy unfinished construction lines around the watch. Everything in Miguel's world has the same style as the watch. Going back to the 'First Look' trailer, when Miles arrives in Mumbattan, his artstyle originally used to change to that universe's art style instead of retaining his own. The same went for Miguel who also had the Spider-Man India style when he arrived in that universe for the trailer. In the final film, even with the reused keyframe animation of Miles arriving in Mumbattan, the render/composit on Miles has him is different from the trailer. In the film, he now has his original Earth-1610 artstyle, instead of changing to the Indian artstyle. This commitment to artstyles becomes a subtle clue that Miles is in the wrong universe at the end of the movie, as nobody else has the benday dot style shading like our Miles does. Long comment, I know. And ultimately I could still be wrong. But just given what I've seen before with studios using old footage for trailer, I just have a really strong feeling that the first trailer was produced as test footage. And even though it featured things that would go on to be present in the final film, I don't think they ever intended on that trailer footage ever being in the movie verbatim.
This movie was absolutely peak. Bruh, imagine if this spiderverse company, moved to DC next, and made another underrated villain into a boss, like The Shade, just imagine what they could do with him
My only issue would be Scarlet Spider not being the character he is from the comics but an over the top joke of how dramatic Ben's story lines were. But his look was spot on.
That is pretty much how he is in the comics. It's just played off because the other characters are quippy, while Ben really isn't. He does narrate his own actions.
Man, Spot is someone that Kang should have been. Feels more like a multidimesionial threat too. Absolute chills. You do really feel for him. Society won't accept him, so only thing left for him is to take revenge on Spiderman, who took everything from him.
So, I know close to nothing about Miles Morales besides the two movies. I love how they kinda meta acknowledge how lame of a bad guy he was (in the comics from what I've heard) but also develop him into this huge dimensionsal threat that he becomes and how his powers tie into this whole plot point that has carried over from both movies. Love it.
I feel like something bad is going to happen with Spider-Man India to reinforce why the Canon events need to happen. He was cocky bordering on arrogant and he needed that tragic event to help him become the most well rounded version of himself. So either his cavalier attitude is going to get him killed, or the unchecked cockiness could lead to him going down a more villainous route.
I think it humbled him a little and he realizes it when he acknowledges Myles his gratitude. And he left his universe to help Myles all while it’s in danger of disappearing
I want Miguel to get a solo movie. I wanted more of him and more of Oscar Isaac. There’s so much we don’t know about him. I didn’t notice the computer said 42 or that Rio’s eyes were different. I can’t wait to watch it again.
This movie really encourages you to go see it multiple times to notice different little things. This is the first movie I watched more than once in theaters. I've seen it twice I the last 36 hours and will probably go see it again this weekend.
I like how they used a alternate version of Spider-Man Unlimited’s theme for Spider-Man 2099. Since Spider-Man Unlimited is also supposed to be like a futuristic version too.
Im so glad they brought back noir, spider pig, and penny back, and letting them fight alongside gwen, hobie, peter b (with mayday 😂), and everyone else in the 3rd movie 🔥
My theory: In the end, they mention the sinister 6 cartel, and prowler is not a member of the 6. If you look in the background of the roof scene before miles gets knocked out, you can see the Rhino casino. Clearly the 6 run this version of New York and Miles Prowler probably wants to avenge his fathers death just by illegal means and I bet he’s actually gonna be a sort of anti hero in the story and the other spider people are going to realize that his universe needs protection because there is no Spider-Man. If you haven’t played it, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is criminally underrated. Madame Web brings together 4 Spider-Men from different dimensions to stop Mysterio. Each level features a different villain, in the design of the universe the level takes place in. And each Spider-Man has a different style and feel. Amazing Spider-Man is voiced by Neil Patrick Harris (from the 2003 series), Ultimate Spider-Man is voiced by Josh Keaton (from Spectaular series), Noir is voiced by Christopher Daniel Barnes (from the 90s series), and 2099 is voiced by Dan Gilvezan (from the 80s Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends series). The sequel game Edge of Time features just Amazing and 2099, now voiced by Josh Keaton and Christopher Daniel Barnes respectively.
Notice the trophies in Prowler Miles' home; he studied martial arts as a kid and earned medals over the years, in a parallel shot with Gwen and Miles' parents, Spider Miles learned baseball as a kid, so chances are Prowler Miles is going to be the better fighter with a maginally stronger fighting instinct and Miles is gonna get his ass whooped before he could save his dad.
i actually feel different towards this movie😭 don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing movie. but the background was so flashy i couldn’t even focus on the characters. especially when Miguel puts Gwen back to her home. it honestly gave me a headache. into the spider verse was better imo🙏
My single favourite Easter egg was that Ganke was playing Spider-Man 2 on the PS5. We got new gameplay for that game in 12fps but i was ENTIRELY focused on that and didn't even reallllllly clock the dialogue
one point i didnt see anyone make is how in the dramatic scenes comes, the movements of the characters become realistic. from when gwen asks him if "spiderman is grounded as well", or when he is discussing with his parents about gwen. even when gwen is talking with her father. the movement is not that plastic and "cartoony", but grounded and more real. i think that shock really helps to weight those scenes.

I live in Taiwan, where the movie doesn't come out before the 21th, and I was gutted... Until I discovered there was a unique special IMAX screening only today afternoon, of a Spiderverse Marathon, with Into the Spiderverse, followed immediately by Across. Goddammit, I gotta say, it was one hell of a way to discover this movie ! I haven't watched the original in a minute (that lasted 5 years, since it came out), and damn ! Seeing both of them back to back, I didn't feel tired any second ! In fact, by the time Across started, I was even more pumped to get into it ! What a special moment it was ! I already want to go rewatch it (but it doesn't come out here before 20 days !!! Aaargh...) Totally agree with Coy's description of this movie in his mini-review, this movie is Everything Everywhere in the Spiderverse. Which is the highest praise for a movie, as it was easily the best movie of last year (and of the decade, to me)
I genuinely can’t see a good way that a live action Miles can feel fresh or new after this trilogy, i have no idea they could keep it true to the character while also not making it feel like retreading the same story.
It is possible. The game did a completely differen origin heck the uncle is alive but the dad is dead. So maybe they switch it make it so that Jeff lives and Rio dies which happens in the comics as well. That way it is an arc for bith Jeff and Miles
If Miles is an anomaly, why does he also experience canon events? If he wasn't supposed to be Spider-Man in the first place, why do the canon events flex to his circumstances? That alone should disprove 2099 Spidey.
You guys are so right, besides porker and Gwen, the other spidermen were affected by miles’ being an anomaly. Noir with his new found love for colors with the rubix cube, Peter with mayday, and penny with her dad’s robot. However Gwen kinda became an anomaly herself when she got her dad to quit being a captain.
Miguel fighting Miles in India was just made for the trailer and none of the sequences were complete in that world yet. So we made up a scenario in that world just for the trailer to show it off. As far as I'm aware it's not officially part of the story.
movie was incredible, 9/10 for me. personally wouldve enjoyed a bit more Ben, or like maybe a different take, also felt like jessica was a bit one note and expected her pregnancy to play a bit larger of a role (aside from being the reason she drives a cool motorcycle) but thats really it for me when it comes to gripes. movie was beautiful, music was amazing, story was incredible. I believed every character's motivation and man do I love how they portrayed miles confidence in himself that he had before the spider bite and after the events in the first movie. He looked at thousands of other spider people and said "mmm yea im better than all of you" THAT is miles morales.
Just got out of the theater after a second viewing, EVERYONE needs to see this movie twice you get to digest the emotional moments a lot more and pick up on cool details

Never saw the first film(Into the Spiderverse) but Across the Spiderverse is now one of my favorite films of 2023!! Loved the dynamic between Miles and Gwen’s “blossoming” relationship and hope they do in fact fall in love in the third film because how can you not love the chemistry between them

He mentions it again in Across The Spider-Verse to Rio and she responds, " What's Comic-Con?" That's when I knew he was in the wrong reality. Top tier storytelling. 1000%

The next film will definitely be more focused on the spidermen and women we get left with at the end and not any of the others within the spider society. Like Miles, Miguel and Gwen with the crew she gathered. As fun as it was to see all the others and all the cool things they can do with them the rest of the story won’t really include them as much

Does Coy not know that every adaptation of Miles that we’ve gotten outside of Spider-Verse coexists with his universes Peter? The animated shows Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2017, and Spidey and His Amazing Friends. Plus the PS4/PS5 games. Why does he keep saying they have to kill off Tom or Andrew? Thankfully, they would never do that. Not everything is like the comics.
Just saw the movie even tho lightning struck and turned of the screen for a little while still could hear the movie still a 10\10 movie one of the best movies I saw this year
sacrificed some time to sleep to watch this movie twice within 2 days. worth it this movie is a 10/10 for me. narratively this movie is on par with other 9/10 movies with my only issue being us not getting enough about Miguel but that can be fixed easily by the third movie. It's pretty safe to say the "plot" holes with his explanation of canon events is actually just him self projecting on miles and making things clearly personal. We can assume that peter was Gwen's canon event and uncle Aeron was Miles' canon event (which he shouldn't even have if he was just an anomaly who wasn't supposed to be a spiderman, remember canon event's are exclusive to spiderman as nexus events are exclusive to multiverses outside the spiderverse) the visuals were innovative and if there was ever a movie that deserved an 11 or 12 out of 10 it would be this movie's creative animation. it's an unparalleled piece of art.
I saw The Flash last month because I work for Mattel and we are vendors for Walmart and WB screened it for our two groups. In Arkansas. Meanwhile Chris Evans and Hemsworth were here in Northwest Arkansas yesterday for the WMT Shareholder's To Do. I still don't know what my opinion of The Flash is. Worried they will change things and I'll have to see it again.
I do believe Myles is destined to be Spider-Man one thing that stood out to me was before Gwen went to visit Myles his jersey has the number 42 same universe number where the spider is from. While he may be an anomaly in Spiderverse terms i think in the overall universe it was meant to be

Did the 2099 theme song remind anyone of the cancelled show Spider-man Unlimited theme song? It probably is nostalgia, but it really took me back. To be honest, this made me want to go play Shattered Dimensions and the Edge of Time again. 2099 such a great character.
@A Icloud aren’t they different? Nexus event means a break in the timeline, whereas Canon event is a break in the multiverse. Multiverse is not the same as time as it something beyond time. Maybe I am not understanding it right. Another watch of New Rockstars’ explanation video! 🤣🤣🤦♀️
@@iloveentertainment you're right at the nexus event part, but wrong on the canon event one. Canon event is something that needs to happen to all of their spidey variants hence the word "canon". If one of them stops that event from happening, that becomes a nexus event in that timeline thus putting the multiverse at risk.
Multiverse of Madness showed that when America Chavez takes people through the multiverse, they change to match the universe so if she is who brings Miles to the MCU or Venomverse during Secret Wars, he would come through as a live action person, not animated.
That's what I thought at first too, but since the spider that bit Miles wasn't from his world and Miles was never "supposed" to become Spider-Man, he isn't canon himself so it's technically not a canon moment. On the other hand, he did get bitten and did become Spider-Man and Aaron did die, so maybe Miguel is wrong and what was supposed to happen isn't as important as what actually did happen, or maybe what actually did happen is what was supposed to happen all along. That very much feels like canon to me.
Coy is a good reviewer, but definitely not a great one. What would make him a great one would be to accept that there’s other opinions then his, and that’s it’s okay if people don’t like what you like. Every time he defends something he likes, he gets all angry about people who don’t, even goes to calling them “dumbasses”. That’s extremely childish to me. The fact that someone doesn’t like something doesn’t automatically make them a hater, it’s JUST an opinion. I really love his reviews but I wish he would calm down at parts because I’m a bit tired of being called a dumbass because of stuff I like/don’t like. Even when he’s defending something I like too I’m like “bro calm down it’s not that serious”.
