Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends sounds like a wacky sitcom spin off. "Fighting crime is easy, sharing a house with two other heroes that's a nightmare! ABC weekdays."
“Whether he wants Iron Man to be his dad, or he wants to punch him!” That's my favorite argument to sit back and watch in the background on all social media sites in general
my favorite is whether or not he's an optimist or a pessimist, like, can't he both? people can be both right? of all the things to make a large fuss about, this really isn't one of them.
@Thickboi Thickington sounds fair, to me, i guess it depends on what happens to him, if he's down on his luck, he doesn't exactly see things improving anytime soon, but if things are looking up or at the very least aren't too bad, he's not constantly worrying about something going south. but overall, saying he's 100% an optimist, or 100% a pessimist is just wrong and stupid to me.
Not only would Spider-man punch Tony in the face, he would rip Tony's armor off piece by piece and kick his butt so hard Tony would start drinking again. Of course that's just my humble non biased opinion. LOL
"Whether he wants spider man to be his son, or he wants him to get jumped by a group of super villains!" It's a joke about the civil war movie and comic, because spider man later quits working for iron man and works for captain America but is pissed off because he spent his literally time making him a suit just so he would join and reveal his secret identity, spider man does get saved by punisher, iron man gets hated by new York for a while even though he won the war, Peter one time got him jumped by venom and carnage.
He’s fought the avengers the X-men, iron man, Thor, Luke cage and basically every major marvel character. That’s what happens when your marvels best baddy. He’s to good to be limited to one magazine
@@citizenoftheworld2694 so what you're saying is Doctor Doom likes to sleep around with other Heroes damn he has no loyalty to the Fantastic Four I remember the days when villains were loyal to their arch nemesis
Between this, that one scene from X-Men 2, that one joke in the comics where he pretended to be Angel's boyfriend and that time Bobby had an apartment in San Francisco during the 70's, how did we not see it all along?
Also, Dr. Doom was probably Marvel Comic's most popular and recognizable villain of that time. I'd think Green Goblin was close but Green Goblin had been "killed off" in the 70's. So even without the Fantastic Four around, they were going to use Dr. Doom.
3:13 “And then Todd mcfrarrrrrr just said draw whatever just draw ten million webs and put his thighs behind his head just everyone go nuts!” Comedy gold
yep. when i was in middle school the art students would go ga-ga over his art work. it was so weird to me when i first saw it.he drew spidermans feet long and pointy and just like my cousin' said , all the characters faces had this doughy texture like they were made out of puddy.
In this Peter's future Mary Jane: Hey Peter, you never told me you were part of a team? Peter: Oh yeah, that was a long time ago, and we haven't done anything together since. Mary Jane: Who is Angelica, and why does she look almost exactly like me? Peter: .....................Oh no! Supervillians are destroying the city!!
Instead of making Angelica Jones, they should've literally made Mary Jane Firestar. Would've been more interesting and Peter wouldn't have to worry about saving her all the time
Jackal made another clone in that one obscure comic that came in a British magazine that you could only get if bought the Captain America movie (1990) on the first week at the Blockbuster no one in your neighborhood went to
The show was quite ambitious as it really was the first marvel show to explore the greater Marvel Universe. As a Spidey show its meh at best but it's still good fun and very enjoyable.
@An Emissary From Heck I thought ultimate was cool in how well it followed the comics. Green goblin losing his memory, aunt may always having realised Peter was spiderman, etc. It didn’t follow it in a lot of ways, but also it was probably the closest to the comics as well
8:06 Wow Spider-Man dated Medusa. Hope Black Bolt doesn't out find out about this or he will have words with Spider-Man very loud and destructive words.
Loved the show, specially the episodes with other Marvel superheros as guest stars. I always found quite funny that Firestar and Iceman had cool transformation sequences while Spiderman had to remove his clothes and hide them.
The funny thing about Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends being that it was literally the first cartoon I ever saw. Back then I had no idea what a Spider-Man was. And now everybody knows who he is, and Iceman from the X-men, but no one knows or cares about Fire Star.
Can we have a whole spider man show that looks as good as the scene where the guy was so afraid of spider man he fainted? I was surprised given how the current one looks
I'm 50 nowadays and i always find these Saturday Morning Spidey cartoons were sure goofy silly at times but were spot on mostly with the Cannon , characters etc. Way even more then any recent Spiderman movie , including the Beloved first two point 5 movies of Sam Ralmis too.
@@Breadloaf-kr4gi it's a very tough call though to Spiderman power one had a lot more in common with the comics besides the web shooters coming out of his wrists instead of being made. About the Green goblin origin made a little more sense they ways they did it too. If you're going to jet glide into Iraq you're not just going to be wearing a clown type costume you will actually have to use armor and stuff instead.
@@davebooshty299 I find the scene in the first Raimi film of Peter wall crawling jarring, he's still wearing his product placement Nikes. I know it's commercial like the Dr Pepper's can scene but it still goes against the basic premise of his costume having to be fine enough for his hands and feet to still stick to walls, the webs from his wrists just means that Sam Raimi created transgender Spiderman.
Amazing Friends was grouped in the: “Classic Animated Series either my parents introduced to me or watched them before school.” BTAS, GI Joe, Transformers G1, Spider-Man Amazing Friends, and Deltora Quest. (I could include Armored Adventures and Teen Titans but they were also other times). Those shows are nostalgic to me and I always come back to them, except Deltora Quest idk where I can find that anymore.
Anyone wanna tell him that Spider-man and his Amazing Friends didn't have toys at the time? I think Mego still had most superhero toy licenses at the time.
A lot of the episodes in Amazing Friends was animated by Toei Animation which started Marvel Productions' relationship with Toei where they then animated Transformers and GI Joe
Honestly I really remember liking amazing friends as a kid. It was a really fun and weird show, but I do always like seeing Peter actually being friends with other superheroes. Apparently he’s supposed to be really good friends with people like the human torch, but we never really get to see them interact. Honestly the only two superheroes I can think of off the top of my head that he regularly talks to and seems to be friends with, are wolverine and Deadpool.
Loved both of these as a kid, they had this fun charm that I always came back to. My favorite episode of amazing friends is definitely the mysterio Hollywood one.
The day the video promiered, Hasbro revealed their newest Firestar figure. Uh. So what are you going to do with your awesome future-seing powers Xavier ?
Love that you brought up Neil Ross. I was literally about to leave the rest of this comment saying that the character models remind me a lot of the 90 series.
I'm surprised you didn't bring up the fact that Spider-Man and he's amazing friends were violently killed by Morlun, during the spider-verse event. Like Jesus Christ kind of violence.
@@hybridtheory7081 Yeah thanks. I was wondering because if you go to the Marvel wiki, it states that the ones killed by Morlun was an identical universe. They even tried to make it so that Morlun killed the Spider-Man in the Marvel vs. Capcom universe, but they had to cancel THAT too because Spider-Man returned in the next crossover game.
Back when I first started reading Spider-Man in the late 80s this was all we had. When I was fortunate enough to find a VHS copy of these shows I didn't hesitate to rent them. To this day I have my Marvel Legends Iceman and Firestar on my Spider-Man shelf. Over the years Spidey did have superhero friends like Johnny Storm and Nate Grey, so the concept of him going to university with two other superheroes wasn't that far fetched. Even if the concept did get cheesy at times. But hey, there is nothing more delicious than a good slice of 80s cheese.
The best thing about amazing friends was that when they brought firestar into the comics they had Emma Frost blow up a horse as part of a plan to manipulate her
Spiderman and his amazing friends was literally my Spiderman growing up. Disney XD had reruns of old 90s and 80s marvel shows along with the newer shows, and I watched this show a lot. I always had a love of 80s cartoon show since my dad showed me G.I.Joe and Transformers.
