It only looks like animation. jj pulls of the illusion with a series of still frames in rapid succession. He’s not actually filming live cartoons that are moving, like in real animation.

There's a narrator who sort-of . . . summarizes an on-screen comic? I'm struggling to describe it. It's very movie-recap adjacent, with a splash of meaningless lore.
