What a great video! Love the presentation and aesthetics. I relate to the whole sentiment, being there as a fan in that era was unmatched as the character was really everywhere and the vibes were fun. Spider-Man 2 is my favorite (movie and game!) as well as having a big soft spot for the MTV show, I watched all those as they were airing and it really was something unique.
Fantastic video. As somebody who’s around the same age, you did a great job articulating what those years were like- when Spidey was one of the only heroes in town, it just hit different. And you’re 100% right, all 3 of the movies have the juice, even to this day they make you feel that same fever as they did in the 2000s
was absolutely flabbergasted when I saw the view count. the quality of this video is insane. great editing, music, and commentary. keep going dude, youre going places fr.
I first watched Spider-Man 2002 back when I was a newly turned 3 year old in 2008. Never looked back, I had a Spider-Man 2 backpack in preschool, Spider-Man 3 backpack in preK, a Spider-Man themed shirt party when I was 4, 5, and few other years later. This movie and character have meant so much to me for so long.
Thanks for this trip down memory lane! First saw this at age 5 in 2002 and I instantly became a Spidey fan. Glad to see someone else share that love for the character
i too caught every single movie in theaters again, it made my year honestly. i fucking adore the editing style and y2k aesthetic you got going for this video, not sure if it's a theme with your channel or just for the vid but it rocks dude. keep it up!!
The reason why the original trilogy was so memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth, especially SPIDER-MAN 2 AVI ARAD on the other hand, just wanted to use the movies to sell toys Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of TASM1 Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise again Spider-Man was nothing without her
Yeah, you’re literally me man. The aesthetic and sound effects of this vid got me screaming without the s. I was there watching each movie as they came out back then Also the hype for Spider-Man 3 was my entire life from 2006-2007. I watched game walkthroughs for spider man 3 until I finally got the main next gen version cuz that ps2 one was some hot ass even if it had my boy morbius in it. This vid is like I’m watching the best friend I never had talk about our childhood love for Spider-Man media in the 00s
This is a great video. Im a couple years younger than you but i remember during the mid 2000s watching spiderman 1and 2 on repeat and jumping off my couch in my spiderman costume pretending i was spiderman. Man the 2000s as spiderman fan were fun
Top notch editing. The nostalgia will live on in my forever. When they did Spider-Mondays, I suited up in the corresponding suit for each movie. Was an absolute blast.
Finally!!! I have found someone else who loved the MTV SPider-Man show n actually knows that it was a thing. That show and the Raimi films were and still to this day are my personal favorites.
think its was like 2005 maybe when my little nephew prob your age wanted me to paint spidey and venom murals on his bedroom walls and they turned out fire. lucky bastard i never had a room that cool : D
Yo man, this video was awesome, if it weren't for me loving Spider-Man and growing up with this era and having that 'Spider-Fever' I would have never been as passionate about making videos and going down the path of voice acting that I did. Can't wait to see future videos from you!
You are my lil cousins age, I was 8. This is his POV for the whole Raimi trilogy hahahaha! Just know it was like Batmania from 89, that’s what my dad always said. & I agree, Tobey’s Spider-Man ALMOST took over the whole decade. As a kid I liked Spider-Man 2 the most, but Spider-Man 1 as an adult will always be favorite now.
Hey man I gotta say I loved how you captured the early 00s aesthetic in this video! Also liked how you talked about the popularity of Spider-Man Franchise during the early - mid 00s! I really enjoyed the video due to its unique style and nostalgic feel in addition over the last 4-5 months I saw all 3 re-releases of the Raimi trilogy which brought me back to memories of my child hood and the 2005 Ultimate Spider-Man! I hope you do potentially cover rest of the early 00s / 90s Marvel Catalog like X-Men, Hulk, Ultimate Spider-Man, Daredevil, Ghost Rider & Fantastic Four at somepoint down the line
i'm definitely younger than you so my first spidey movie was spider-man 3 in theatres when i was 3, but my dad made sure to have me watch the other two time and time again and man, i'm so glad he raised me with spider-man. best hero ever
and to add i related hard to this video, being born the same year the first movie came out i grew up with spider-man and have so much nostalgia especially the 3rd one
bro i didnt realize your subs til u said thanks for 2k the editing and scripting was phenomenal u remind me of nakeyjakey in a really good way great video spiderman is the shir
Just wanna say love this video, you have such a unique editing style. However I need to address that there is a massive misunderstanding when it comes to Sam Raimi and Venom. He never hated Venom and I don't know how that whole thing started but Sony never force him to have Venom in the movie it was more of a suggestion than anything because Vulture was gonna to be in SM3 but Sam had troubles trying to connect Peter with the character. Even though Raimi didn't know much of Venom he tried his hardest to be as faithful as he could with a the movie own creative spin. Topher Grace was quite a big help when working on SM3 as he was already a huge fan of Venom and Spider-Man, so he has some prier knowledge in helping out with some parts of the movie. The whole thing of Venom/Eddie being weird is kind of the point he is everything that Peter isn't, he is pretty much a shadow reflection of him a total opposite if you will. Eddie in this movie is a mix of bits of the original 616 comic to being loosely based on Ulitmate Spider-Man Eddie hence the whole Edward Brock Jr thing and a bit of the 90's cartoon too, which this movie takes quite a bit of inspiration from. I hope this clears some stuff up, I do recommended looking up the new deleted scene that was found recently of the early version of the church scene it's pretty cool. Ether way still a amazing video overall. Also I always thought this version of Peter from this trilogy to be autistic in how he interacts with people, then again this is coming from someone who is also autistic too lol.
Thank you for the comment and the info I genuinely have always been under the impression that he was against venom just based off of how he would speak on the film but I could totally be wrong. I’ve never really thought about some of the perspectives you brought up definitely adds another to view on the films. Thank you again really glad you enjoyed the vid!
Thank you bro I really do love him lol and yeah I think it’s a quadeca unreleased song he posted a video with a bunch of unreleased songs it’s from there I think
@@jacksonlloyd i got a doctor pepper collab shirt recently, but you can find them occasionally on grailed or depop. otherwise i just try my luck at thrift stores and hope to get lucky. got so many. incredible video! love the aesthetic and can feel the passion
Dude the aesthetics are so god damn cool, so refreshing, especially the sound effects, could you recommend some sound sources? Are they like from specific consoles and game menus? Keep up the good work!
Honestly, just the 21st Century as a whole has been awesome for Spidey fans. The Raimi love is very strong again, especially after Spider-Verse and the PS games referenced it for the first time since RU-vid Poops. "It’s nice to have a fan…" Love Tobey. I feel like if I meet another young man who's 22-30 and loves these movies, I trust him immediately. I literally moved to New York for college and am suffering through my NYU loans just because I love Spider-Man so much, and I just wanted to live there at least a little in my life. Honestly, the girl drama in New York was so awesome, even if it went atrociously… Actually… especially since it went atrociously. Because I got to enjoy Spider-Man even more. 😂 Still want a girlfriend, don’t get me wrong, but being a Spidey fan in New York kinda made the girl drama hilarious, and an even better ride.
It really has been for the most part. I feel the same way, if you love the raimi movies I’d trust you with my life. I’ve always wanted to live in NYC for that same exact reason dude the spider-man movies had such an imprint on me
Post watching video: I love this video and I love spiderman. Angry bully McGuire is lore accurate Tobey. Ursula baked fire and deserved better. Fuck Bernard. BIG AHH SHOCKER 🕷️ ❤💙
@@jacksonlloyd Oh hell yeah, the activision era games had some hits and misses Spider-Man movie 1 and 2 games were great, Ultimate Spider-Man was great, Friend or Foe while that's a 50/50 for the Spidey community I personally enjoyed that one, Web of Shadows was aight, "Side tangent: Was hoping for a Friend or Foe 2 because of the 1st games ending but that sadly never happened." Anyways Beenox era hit strong and kinda flopped too, and now we have the Insomniac era of Spider-Man which is pretty neat so far. Spider-Man video games have come a majorly long way since then its insane.
AVI ARAD has ruined so far... * Borderlands * Daredevil (2003) * The Punisher (2004) * Elektra (2005) * Fantastic Four (2005) * X-Men: The Last Stand * Spider-Man 3 * Bratz (2007) * Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance * The Amazing Spider-Man 2 * Ghost in the Shell (2017) * Venom: Let There Be Carnage * Uncharted (2022) * Morbius And now he's gonna ruin... * Kraven the Hunter * Venom: The Last Dance * Legend of Zelda * Naruto As long Arad lives, there's no hope
This is going to sound crazy but I actually agree, Batman is is my favorite superhero 😭 I just have so much nostalgia and love for 2000s spider-man but I literally have loved Batman since I was born
At 17:06 is that condensed milk I hear as the background music??? literally one of my favorite songs next to get enuf and 2 mello I wanna know from the bomb rush game soundtrack 😌
