Gwen: “I was blown into last week” - hence Miles’ joke “Maybe I’m not late, maybe you guys are early” is actually funnily accurate after all.

The animation in this is top tier. The “what’s up danger” 10/10

25:58 one brother became a cop, the other joined the mob. The reason why earlier when Miles’ Dad left the answering machine message he mentioned that they were estranged. Though, note: when Aaron’s body is found, and Miles’ Dad thinks that Spider-Man did it, he still turns on a known hero to avenge a known villain, just because it was his brother.

I just love the delivery on "I thought I was the only one." It's kind of a combination of "I'm not alone anymore" and "I'm so sorry you have to deal with this."

There's a method to the madness of his dad saying "You got to say I love you back." Jefferson is a cop. He can be killed on the job at any point so, he wants Miles to have a proper goodbye to him if the worst does happen. The voice going, "Connecting to multiple dimensions," is the voice of Olivia Octavius. After the fall Miles never had his shoes untied. When Olivia talks to Kingpin at the end of the Alchemaxx episode she raises herself up to his eye level to indicate she sees him as her equal. When she tells him that he can get any number of families that he wants she raises herself further up to look down on him to indicate that she sees him as her inferior now. She would also at that point know that anyone who was brought into their dimension through the collider would die painfully from glitching out and she still sirened Kingpin to let her build her collider. When Spiderman Noir comments, "That's a pretty hardcore origin story," his own background had his uncle Benjamin cannibalised by The Vulture. When Dock Ock breaks into Aunt May's house Aunt May goes, "Oh great it's Liv." Earlier in the movie when Peter asks herm "Do your friends call you Doc Ock?" She answers that her friends call her Liv, which means that at some point Liv and May were on friendly terms. The building that Miles ascends up while shouting enthusiastically is the same building that he fell down from early in the movie. Miles' swing to the collider to shut it down was something that he learned from watching Peter Parker before he died. Penny Parker's robot has sentimental value to her as it was the last thing her dad built before he died. As long as the spider lives she she can build a new robot.

Such a great movie and pleasant surprise from a newer Sony movie. Fun fact: Ned Lee from the MCU movies is partially based on the roommate you saw here, Gankee Lee. The MCU movies used a lot from the "Ultimate" universe in the comics, which is what Miles is from and also Samuel L Jackson Nick Fury.

24:16 the gravely guy is Tombstone, usually a thug for Hammerhead, but sometimes loaned to Kingpin.

You probably should watch Spider-man 1 (2002), 2 (2004), 3 (2007) and then Amazing Spider-man 1 (2012), 2 (2014) and even Venon 1(2018), 2 (2021) to get all the references to this movie and future spiderverse films and more. Worth the watch and additional content for you channel.

Also, Oscar Isaac had an uncredited voice role as Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 in the post credits scene, which would set up the events for this year’s sequel Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse.

The Stan Lee cameo in this one hit a little hard when it first came out. This movie was the first cameo after he died. And of course his line just added to it. “I’m going it miss him.”

This movie was incredible. But Across the Spiderverse is so much better.

My single favorite moment in this movie that feels like it's overlooked by most people, is near the end when Miles stops being invisible and Doc Ock sees him and says "Spider-man..?" Because by now she's more than used to this whole multi-verse thing. To her it seems like *another* spider-man comes out of the woodwork every other minute. But she can tell when that's what's going on. I'm not sure how, but she knows these new "spider-people" don't belong there. her own universe's Spider-Man is dead, her current boss made sure of that. Then Miles shows up, about to impart a metric fuckton of inertia directly into her jaw, and her instinctive reaction is, "Wait... Is that... Spider-Man?" From her perspective, all the rest were just more "spider-people from other dimensions". Her own universe was already rid of the *real* Spider-Man. At this moment she somehow realized, her universe's "real" Spider-Man was back.

Ypu have to watch the spiderman movies with tobey and andrew

I love it. This is a really powerful movie for me, and I am so glad you got to enjoy it. I can't wait for you to get to Across the Spiderverse!

It's also kind of required to watch all the spider man movies before the last Tom Holland movie.

I recommend you to watch the x-men movies, they are marvel too, and are mostly very good. Very different than anything you've seen in the mcu, its not a part of the mcu but technically with you watching "what if" and loki, it can be viewed as if it exists in the multiverse of mcu.

Anyone gonna point out she's watching a recording of this from FX? Hence the "fade to black" she mentioned? Just me? Okay. Also no, the fade to black isn't a part of the movie or the sequel.

I can’t recommend the Ultimate Spider-Man comics enough. If you never read another comic in your life, read that series . My favorite Spidey supporting cast, bar none. And versions of Gwen Stacy, Aunt May, and JJJ who richly deserve to live again.

This movie is flat out amazing. The animation/art style is out of this world, the humor is great, the colors are exceptional, and the story is amazing. It has everything you want. There are so many movies that are reboots or remakes, but this shows how you can use something everyone knows and still make it feel fresh and original. And it's also my personal opinion that the sequel to this is even better. Miles Morales is a terrific Spider-Man.

He got payback on Spider-Man, and he went to jail king pin and his family to safety. Thanks the Spider-Man.

It’s been a few years since I’ve seen Into the Spiderverse. I forgot how spectacular it was. It was great rewatching it with you. I went to ComicConSD 2019 and there were so many Spider Gwen Cosplay, it’s a great costume, but my favorite costume is Spider-Noir…… 😂Spider-Ham!!!

Speaking of fitting through doors, the animators couldn’t find a way to get him out of cars, so you see him “appear” outside the car.

Marvel didn’t make this movie, Sony did. It’s not an MCU movie, although Spider-Man is obviously a Marvel movie so there will naturally be some linkages.

You’re gonna want to watch all the other live action spider-man movies before you watch the sequel to this, you’ll be slightly lose at some points, as well as decently spoiled on 1 or 2 pretty major things

I hope you watch the other Spider-Man films with Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield. The later Spider-Man movies really hit different when you understand references and stuff from those two worlds. And they’re just good movies lol (some more than others)

I had such a strong love for the character Peter Parker that I didn't want to see another character be Spider-Man. This film won me over.

the Spider-Verse movies (there is an amazing sequel) are just wonderful. I hope you plan on watching the sequel. Original is 10/10 for sure!!! Very easy watch and fun to notice things you might have missed the first time.

there were also a lot of references to the daredevil show or daredevil in general. i know you've watched that show too. thought it might be interesting. the most obvious one is the bridge at 33:29. another is one of the glitches at 33:03.
