But with Spider-Noir, it's got a consistency to it. At 1:39, he acknowledges Miles with that apologetic shrug, body language shorthand for "Sorry for going hard on ya son, we just need to put our heads together for a moment." He's also the first to pull his head out of the conversation to check on Miles while they talk him down simultaneously in front of him and behind his back. Mateo Gonzalez There were five helicopters passing by just out of frame.
@@Ruderickle2424 Ironically the only character I wasnt crazy about was miles Morales. He was literally just the same "misunderstood" teenage protagonist from every other movie ever made
@@katet-dp2ks Yeah but despite him looking tough, you can tell how despite pushing Miles to become a hero, he’s aware of his feelings and doesn’t want to hurt him.
It seems like a constant trait among the heroic versions of Peter Parker or Spiderman is that he is a decent human being. Even when he is made entirely of spiders.
Plot twist: Nicolas Cage isn't reading Spider-Man Noir's lines, they literally just stuck a microphone on him for a day and recorded his conversations.

Man the crossover I was hoping for. Genuinely really interested in the socialist vigilante from the 1930s/ modern day anarchist dynamic they could set up
@@cypherjh4102 doesn’t count. I mean, I guess they have the same idea, but they have different sayings. One is about a house, the other is about a important block.
Not-so-fun fact: in the brazilian portuguese version he says: this kid has a lot of imagination. Instead of: thats a pretty hardcore origin story Which doesnt make any sense at all, most of his lines are ruined and are not well translated in portuguese, and thats a shame bc he is dubbed by the official nicholas cage voice actor. Buuuut, peter, mj and aunt may are dubbed by the same people that did the raimi trilogy, so i cried like a baby when i heard aunt may's voice in the movie for the first time, that took me back man...
"Can you close off your feelings so you don't get crippled by the moral ambiguity of your violent actions" My inner edgy teenager was able to relate to that line.
Can we appreciate how at 3:44 he cut out the part where we CAN'T SEE Spider-Man Noir because he's behind MJ's head?! That's some commitment to the title of the video.
The best of it is that Spider-Noir had his own... possibly more hard-core story. - He found his Uncle Ben's body, who'd been tied up, beaten, and torn apart by wild dogs - Watched someone get eaten alive by spiders - Cursed by a Spider-God - Betrayed by his best friend - Found his friend lobotomized - Died EDIT: God, guys, I know his uncle was eaten by the Vulture. I hadn't finished the comic. It's been months since I posted this. Give it a break.
@@fabymieres8636Tombstone has superhuman strength and durability so he survived it. We can see later in the movie Jefferson Morales walking Tombstone into a Police Car before Miles calls him.
You haven't seen a guy turn into a turtle and live so he's friend can become a mob-boss right after he kills the mob-boss with the upgraded version of the punching ghost
That "I... love you all" gets me right in the feels. He's just a good dude, trying to do the right thing, and he finally met people who were just like him, yet different enough that they were their own people.
5:07 I also love cuz he is the type of character who looks menacing but got small and cute creature on his shoulder. One of my favorite character trope.
The little subtle bit of Noir putting his hat back on @2:10 is so cute to me. It’s like you see him laying with it off but then it’s on in the fight. It makes you wonder if it was an animation error but no he puts it back on to fight.
@@shadowrev2914 Already lemme make some sense into it. Peter Porker was a normal spider until Aunt May (A Pig) made the first radioactive hair dryer, and she bit Peter Porker when he was a spider which turned him into a Pig, but he still had his spider abilities.
@@billcipher779 Eh I mean I doubt it, but since they haven't really addressed what qualifies as canon and what doesn't, I can say anything without being disproved in like two months.
i love how noir, in comparison to the other spider-people, has a combat style less based on primarily using agility and web to aplify dodging and weaving to find an opening, and instead just all out brawling using his web and superior agility to support his skill in direct hand-to-hand combat, it really gives him a lot of uniqueness as a spiderman
It's interesting how although Spider Noir doesn't feel emotions, he's very sympatheic. Like when he gives Miles a comforting shrug at 1:37 and how at 4:53 he asks if she's okay after losing her partner.
Noir's darkness is real when he doesn't go around wasting it to feel exclusively brooding. He knows pain and suffering among the people around him, corruption, and all the things the world has taken from him. It's what makes him feel more mature than a run in the mill Spidey
Penny was devastated losing her machine, which was built by her father, who was her "Uncle Ben" (Loved one who died) Noir understood completely how she felt. He's a good egg.
"Can you close off your feelings so you don't get crippled by the moral ambiguity of your violent actions?" Fuck... thanks Noir. That's probably the most accurate portrayal of his comics.
His comics were really dark. He didn't hesitate when killing his foes...but aunt May gave him the needed balance when she saw Vulture dead in front of her.
"Can you close off your feelings so you don't get crippled by the moral ambiguity of your violent actions?" Seriously, Spider Noir has some hilarious lines, what makes it better is he's voiced by Nick Cage
*You hard boiled turtle slapper* *We don't pick the ballroom, we just dance.* *Can't be that easy.* *It's that easy.* This has to be my favorite Spiderman.
dumb excuse I could animate this and I'm 7 year old chess prodigy Edit: considering people are messaging me death threats and nasty things to me, I just want to say this. WOOOOSH you're all dumb as fuck
Am I the only one who wants to see Noir duke it out with 2099? They're both from different times and definitely the most violent spider-men. It would be cool to see a scene between them in BTSV
He's probably gonna be: That's all you got you Mexican scum I thought you were though but the only thing I see is a cry baby inside of you you claw puncher
2:08 - If even Noir says that your origin story is hardcore, you know you've been through some shit... Considering how Noir's uncle Ben was *eaten alive*
Noir understanding Peni then was the best thing. The mech her dad(her Uncle Ben) built for her was in pieces, just like her heart then. Noir being there for her was the best.
I still love the detail of the Spiders hiding in the corner: Peni, the only one without sticking powers, is wedged between the teens while everyone else is trying to touch a wall.
I'm honestly surprised Nicholas Cage voiced Spider-Man Noir cause not only did he preform well as him but it sounds different compared to his past performances.
Its cuz his "eyes" are glasses, if i remember correctly he has them in the comics and they're not laying flat on his mask as they do in others, so they can't change their shape and emote
If you’ve read Noir’s comic then it gives a new layer of depth to this as well. Not gonna say what cause spoilers but something is revealed at the end of the first issue that is very messed up
Sad fact: in the Spider - Noir's universe his uncle Ben was eaten by The Vulture which is very disturbing compared to getting shot by a thief in the actual Spider Man universe
@@benadrylcucumbersnatch9401 I guess he said that because the ONE person that Miles bonded with and felt like he understood him better then his parents, turns out to be the person who's been trying to kill him, was helping kill his universe's Spiderman and when he nearly choked his own nephew to death before realizing what he was doing and stopped, only to be shot in front of Miles and then later died in Miles arms. Also, Miles was the only one in his family who knew his uncle died (Of course, before his father found him in the alley and he couldn't even tell his parents that he saw his uncle get killed or that his uncle tried to kill him unintentionally. It's a lot to take I'm for a kid his age). But the fact that Noir is only 18-19 in this movie and his Uncle Ben (beaten eaten alive) probably happened in front of him to, maybe he was Miles' age when this happened. In my case, i feel like Noir thinks that this what happens to Miles is what begins his story ad Spiderman (Each Spiderman loses someone, some more gruesome then others).
@@cindypicadomolina7814 in noir’s case he only saw the aftermath of what happened to ben, so he thought it was goblin’s gang having dogs eat ben alive or something
It always gets me when he calls miles "lil fella" or when his uncle dies and he's like "poor lil guy" (Also, his awkward stand in the back during the whole Bread scene is so funny)
Well in 1930s America is wasn’t frowned upon for people to punch black teenagers. In many places it was somehow encouraged. Never look at the past as better other what the value of the dollar was. You can like certain media of the past, but it’s important to be as critical back then as now. Like black people were protesting Gone With the Wind, Dumbo, and Song of the South even back in the 30s/40s. It’s not a modern problem. Photos exist of protests against Gone With the Wind and articles were written by black activists back then. Marlon Brando had a Native American woman except his Oscar for his role in the Godfather as a form of protest for better treatment of Indigenous people. Sorry. I just always worry about people glorifying the past and ignoring that past was not a fun time for marginalized groups.
Spider Noir is one of my favorites out of all the spidermans there is. He's just so mysterious, but in an amusing, serious way. I love his personifications and his background, because as a lot of movies portray private-eyes, their always focused and have this sense dry sense of humor, though, the directors added a fascinating twist to him.
He actually had one, he never really got to use it. We are able to see his weapon's holster sometimes through the movie, and in one particular scene. It is featured in this youtube video, featured at the exact 02:14 minutes of the video. This Scene, Where he also intends to reach for the gun's grip, but he immediately refutes on his action upon recognizing that he was amongst traumatized-spider-people, as they, too had their parents dies from the bad end of a gun's barrel. And like that, he didn't use his fire weaponry through the entire movie, but we can always see the gun holster whenever he's punching and his coat's swinging around, as he has two gun holsters, based off from the comics, soo seeing it, isn't pretty difficult neither. Such a cool feature too.
