There are five reason why Phin probably wouldn’t have been able to throw Miles: 1. If she threw him from ground level, it very much wouldn’t have gotten him far enough. 2. If she threw him up after running to the top, he still wouldn’t have gotten as much boost as he did because she moved one of her tech things from her hands to her boot. So she only had one arm with the shit on it and she used to to run him up. Only way she would’ve thrown him SOMEWHAT far enough is if she literally had him by one of his legs and flung him up. 3. Her boosters are what kept them in the air for that long. They stayed in the air for a good 10 seconds before the explosion. If she just “tossed him up”, he would’ve immediately fallen back down because…well gravity. 4. Even if you don’t wanna take ANY of that into account, we’ve already seen that despite how smart Phin is, she’s not good at thinking ENTIRELY rationally. She was literally just having flashbacks from her brother’s death watching Miles moments before, there were people coming, Miles was about to blow at any second, and she herself saw he could barely even crawl let alone swing himself a safe distance away. If there were another option that could’ve been thought of, she probably put it to the side because she didn’t wanna risk her best friend dying alone. 5. On top of that, she probably wanted to repent for all the damage she literally caused in the first place.

Her sacrifice was one of the most beautiful endings for a character I've seen, but that shot of her holding miles right before he explodes is flat out amazing.

I'm not familiar with Miles Morales or his run in the comics, but I have to say, this was a great Spiderman story. The story in the first game was great, but Insomniac pushed out another. Now I can't wait to see what they do next with the third game.
