YES!!! Finally someone showed if the amazing fantasy hands will work. I’m so happy cause that’s going to make photography with wire webs even better. Thank you for showing that Manny.
Looks really good, they fixed almost all of my complaints about the previous version, he’s now pinless with a brighter red and deeper blue and he has toe articulation. However they still clearly have no idea how to do a double ball peg for the neck. Barbell joints (or double ball pegs) are the best way to articulate an action figure’s head because it gives you access to way more nuanced posing that the standard ball and hinge doesn’t allow. A double ball works because one peg is for the majority of the movement and one is for adjustments, therefore one is big and one is small. The problem with Hasbro’s is they bury the bottom peg so far into the neck that it can’t move anywhere. If the made the bottom peg larger and brought it up closer to the base of the head they would not need to carve that stupid looking notch out of the back of his neck. To get the most range the bottom one needs to be the main pivot point and the top is for small adjustments. Hasbro has it backwards, and makes their design even worse by surrounding the peg with plastic.
16:46 had to reconfirm this so I checked Vol 3 issue 14 of Renew Your Vows on my physical copy. I think the Spider-Milf is just a meme edit. Or they reprinted it. Cause my copy only says mom. Either works cause MJ. Pre Zebb Wells is awesome.
@@Xmanny87 oh ye i didnt think bout that i woulda luved to see them do the like double neck peg like red skull has, and that bullseye i dont mind cause i aint got one yet
My Spider-man arrived fine. I actually managed to get the butterfly joints to move back, however depending on how the spider loegs on the back are painted, there might be some chipping. Thanks for the awesome review and comparison with the retro Spidey.
Spinneret is an awesome figure for sure, I bought 2 sets of these figures both have decent paint apps thankfully. What kind of wire/gauge are you using for the posing?
Simply a "spectacular" review, Manny. Imo the Renew Your Vows Spider-man is the BEST version yet. Full articulation including toe. Not to knock on Spinner/Mary Jane, she actually turned out to be a decent enough figure. I did open all the 60th Anniversary Spider-man figs I have and will continue to do so as buy the rest of the line.
I had some paint qc on the red torso and black Spidey logo. Once you spot it your unable to unsee it. My Spinneret came out fine. Maybe Regent will be the BAF for the next Spider-Man wave?
Yeah this 2pack was surprisingly better after mods, there's ways to open the butterfly joints and I trimmed the smallest amount from the ribs so the torso crunches more, then metallic highlights and I love this as my adult unmasked spiderman on the shelf, I agree the retro is way more posable, but so far it's been the AF SPIDERMAN that I can't put down, which I made a Miles out of a 2nd one and bro you should see how good the scale and posing looks, makes me wonder what they have in store for him should the make the same buck but a lil smaller, thanks for the review sorry for the rant the video got me in the zone lol
Damn..its already been 2 YEARS since the RYV Spider Man Spinneret 2 Pack came out..& IMO this Spider Man is the BEST Marvel Legends Spider Man figure. PERIOD! 👑 Btw i remember that just before RYV Spider Man came out.. Retro Spider Man was going for $100 or MORE on the aftermarket!
Great video there Mr Manning I don't really need the Spider-Man I have the retro Ben Riley that I'm using for my Spider-Man but I would like to get that spinner red I would like to complete my spider family
THANK YOU FAM!!!! I was gonna get this 2 pack but after watching the review and the part where U compare this new Spidey with the retro Spidey I was able to EASILY make a decision! Retro spiderman is the Champion!!! It's just a shame we can't get a rerelease with "pinless" tech and wall crawling hands
I did have some lines popping in the blue parts but I fix this issue by using acrylic paint that matching the blue and use a paper issue to wipe which does blend and match well the paint on plastic overall I’m satisfied
@@Xmanny87 I was lucky enough to find a few at my store. Opened one in the car and sure enough the eyes wasn’t centered. So I returned it and got another lol.
Amazing video xmanny - thanks for your effort. Love the work on all of the pros and cons for these two. Not in the market for either, the collector in me is impressed with the work Hasbro's done here and anyone needing either for their collection should be happy. That price tho!
Thanks for watching my friend. Yeah, I didn’t factor in pricing for this one because we can just get lost and talk about that forever. Instead, I just want to focus on the figures instead and let the viewers decide for themselves if they want to buy it or not.
@@Xmanny87 I got it and see your point. The point I was trying to make is with these price hikes why doesn't an influencer compare products of same characters between Brand lines for comparisons? An ML vs. a MS or Mafex and see for themselves. Hasbro 's price might not be so expensive when compared to alternatives.
Kinda understand your point when they didn't include some character. I mean with Laura from Logan totally can understand. But ya know I'm happy with just those 2 and...... If they have included her too I would be a little pissed because of higher price of this pack. Even if this is overpriced now IMO. But hey maybe they will give us her in the future. 🤷
Shriek's upper torso is skintight, which is what they SHOULD be doing to majority of female figures that are based on skintight costumed heroes. But for this instance, I think Spinneret has the uniboob look in the comics mostly, so it makes more sense to use this. But they could've also just used the Kate Bishop upper torso though, so... no idea why they used this AoA Rogue piece that nobody likes due to the holes. Oh man, you showing them pose with that old Moleman makes me want them to do a new Moleman + Moloids. Though judging by their recent inclination to do mini statues, if they ever do them... probably will just be mini pops LOL.
Dont complaint so much bcoz they make it by bulk order thousands of toys distributing multiple countries they make it through machine u dont order this by 1 person to person they make it by big orders and
I'm neither here nor there for the Spidey. I got the retro and I'm still happy with it being my adult Spidey. But I would like the Spinneret, I don't have a MJ figure so a super hero MJ would be awesome. But those butterfly joints, man, I noticed that since the No Way Home movie wave. The integrated suit and the Miles Morales butterfly joints are like that and that's pretty ass compared to previous spiderman figures, I don't know why they're doing that. Also, they do gotta make better torso articulation for the women characters. Like, Hasbro, do you not let your teams communicate with each other? Is the Marvel team not allowed to communicate with the Star Wars team? Cause they released a Jaino Solo figure in 2017, 5 years ago, and she had that inverted ab crunch and diaphragm joint like Spidey. And they made another female Star Wars character, Dr. Aphra, with that same articulation. So are they not allowed to share with each other so that the Marvel female characters, who most are much more agile characters than Star Wars characters, can also have good torso movement?
Manny check out my black panther review! I love the review my spidey has great paint apps but his joints are tight he feels like he might break so I gotta buy a new one😅 love your vids pal
I actually like the Spinneret fig more than Spidey. Read the comic and love it...I hope Hasbro do not release annie in a 3 pack to make us buy the same figs again
Just never makes sense to me in all the things they do with Spider-Man that they still can’t get him to do a simple split on most his figures. How many other different characters does this same exact company make for this brand and other brands that have figures that have awesome leg articulation and can give easy full splits, and lots of these characters aren’t even known for their gymnastics skills yet do splits. So bad, Literally everyone says same thing when they get a new non Spider-Man figure able to do the splits. “Better then Spider-Man” meme into itself they made. Also agree with spinneret think she is one of the better female figs this year, just wish like u the holes in bk weren’t there and she had waist articulation. Took forever for females arms to get fixed wonder how long the waist articulation will take em.
These 2 figures could of been perfect. But no, there's some lazy shit hasbro did with these especially spinerette that make me mad. The ugly holes in the back are just annoying. And my spodey does have some paint spots as well. It's frustrating considering I paid like over 50 bucks for both of these
