"He's just a kid, no older than my son" Those lines hits hard when all of the people in the train though Spider Man was someone trained professional with powers instead of just an average hustilng pizza boy
This wasn’t CGI, Tobey Maguire actually stopped a train and they just happened to have the cameras rolling. Sam Raimi ended up loving the footage so much he used it in the final film.
Man , its not only about nostalgia , compare this fight with tom and even andrew's fight , tobey fights are the best, no long talks , no gimmicks , no childish pranks , only top tier actions . For me , tobey spider and cap 2 winter soldier are the best movies of marvel .
Going back as an adult and watching tobeys movies make me realize his version of spider man was way more brutal than the others. Bro was fighting to kill 😂
@@ChickenTabletthe original avengers and infinity war and endgame and also the first captain America are up there too though, for me all those are tied for first but this scene alone is my childhood
A couple of notable moments in this fight: 1:35 where the movie doesn't show you what Spider-Man is reacting to until he's already reacted to it. It gives the viewer impression that Spider-Man can react to things quickly even though any normal person would have seen that coming from far away. Then 10 seconds later at 1:45 where he slips through the openings on the bridge and we see the bridge coming, which gives the viewer time to see what he needs to react to so they can fully appreciate the maneuver he uses. Then at 2:09 within just a couple seconds, Doc Ock notices the oncoming train , Spider-Man doesn't at first because hes facing away but then does and reacts quickly once again. And again, all of this happens too quickly for the viewer to fully register everything until it's already happened. Everything is happening in real-time, no slow-mo effects once theyre on the train. They were able to show just how smart and fast both the hero and the villain can respond to their reflexes and think on their feet. And all while keeping the fight in real-time without confusing the viewer.
@@iacovoskritz4896 No. In those movies, it feels like New York is a part of their fight, whereas in this scene, it seems like anywhere behind the battleground is down a funnel. In the MCU, the only Spider-Man movie scenes that feel off are the Washington Monument and Tower Bridge before reaching Mysterio. There, they don’t feel like a funnel, but they just feel like plaster. Same could be said for this scene, but this was an early 2000’s movie (which was an era that also liked paler colors), so I’m not against that aspect.
While Tobey's Peter is busy fighting Doc Ock and trying to stop a runaway train, Andrew's Peter hasn't even gotten his own spider bite yet and Tom's Peter is a child wearing an Iron Man helmet and getting praised by Tony Stark.
What if i told everyone all spidermans versions has too hold their punches alot?LOL!Im not kidding this man can catch bullets even dodge alot of things! Also stop a train? Is an equivalent of a house or building you stop too!Man i wish i saw more of that but its only the comics that too bad even the cartoon version did him right now.I just wish movies would go higher more of the stakes!Their is alot of things people don't know spiderman alot now.
I used to watch Spiderman cartoons which everyone loveds back in the day & Sam Raimis with Tobey McGuire was the real deal Spiderman brought to the screen, the subsequent ones produced by others did not live up to Sam Raimi's vcersion.
I watched this movie and especially this scene hundrends of times when i was 5 years old. I am now 23 still having the same chills and amazement like my childhood. This was the best marvel movie ever. Tobey was the best spiderman and i am very glad i was raised with his movies.
As cool as the scene with the people on the train goving his mask back people in reality would be taking pictures and recording on their phones the whole thing
You know, unless I've been missing something the entire time this movie has been released for, Oc is just a dude right? No particular physical enhancements; not inherently any more durable than a regular person... So how can he square up with someone who can single-handedly stop a train going at maximum overdrive?
One thing I don't care for with Tobey's Spider-man is that he only makes like 2, 3 wise-cracking remarks, as Spidey is known for, in thr entire series. It bothers me.
I want as well or you jsut say who wants spiderman 4 with tobey maguire for 2024 like this comment . That’s what you were meant to say juiladelcasale509
