He did kill the Goblin. By curing Norman, Goblin died. He just saved Norman in the process.

this scene has so much raw emotion from the helpless relieved look of andrew's spidersman when he saves MJ redeeming his failure to save gwen, to the loss of innocence of tom's spiderman when he stated he wanted to kill the green goblin, and finally the humility from toby's spiderman as he stops tom's spiderman from killing green goblin preserving his humanity.

When Garfield catches MJ. I felt that in my soul.

5:35 - the acting by Willem Dafoe here is masterclass. You can see the goblin dissipate and sanity return. The crazy leaves his pupils, and almost like getting up from a bad sleep, is a flustered Norman Osborn who slowly meets with the horrifying realisation he had slipped into his former self and caused untold destruction.

God this whole final act was perfect Norman's "what have I done?" broke me after everything else in that scene

Tobey catches the sled and just looks him in he eyes without saying a single word, yet you can hear a whole conversation being said through their eyes. Not many films have moments like that anymore.

"You okay?" "Oh yeah I'm good, I've been stabbed before." "Oh good, good good good good good good." 😂

Amongst all the heroes in the MCU, Spider-Man is one of the few that were done real dirty in the end. Loses everyone, no one knows who Peter Parker is, he is now just Spider-Man to NY. And that’s it.

Dafoe's laugh as the goblin is more recognisable and iconic for me then ever Joker's laugh. It's just so perfect. Cunning and chaotic embracing laughter.

8:40 AND THERE IT IS!!! THAT RIGHT THERE!!! 3 yrs ago in the movie theater that right there is what sold for me. It was something I only fantasized but I couldn't believe it actually hap-pened!! I was crying here.

Man the look that Tobey's spiderman give Tom's spiderman is so full of "I understand what your feeling" some freaking amazing acting.

Andrew saving MJ and his reaction makes this whole thing. That was excellent storytelling for redemption for any movie

The bad thing about the original Spider-Man movie is that Norman Osborn/Green Goblin (played by Willem Defoe) - probably one of the best comic book movie villains - was killed off. This movie did the fantastic thing of having Willem Defoe return and play the character again, and do a fantastic job of doing it. I personally think that Defoe's performance in this movie topped the previous time he played GG.

the greatest decision strange had to ever make so far, deleting someone existence literally from the face of the earth is something not easy. peter made a kind of sacrifice that i will always remember

Amazing Spidey saving MJ so that another peter wouldn't feel the loss he felt Raimi Spidey freeing and saving Osborn help to not only save a Spider-man from nearly becoming what he was in his third movie, but also getting a chance to undo something that caused his friendship with Harry to be wrecked and affecting both their lives.

Anybody else realized that both Toby's Spider-Man in the first movie and Tom's Spider-Man in this movie were both only able to defeat Green Goblin after they let go of their restraints and were out for blood.

Dafoe is what made the Green Goblin the scariest Spiderman villain. It's not that the Goblin is the most powerful--Dafoe's acting just made him the best and most creepy villain.

At the end of the battle only 3 good characters in the whole title film has found their redemption at long last. And they are Dr. Octopus, Peter 3, and Peter 2. I really do cared about the 3 Dudes so darn much and they were the best part about this movie Hands Down. Is because of their fish out out of water storylines.

Tony stoping the glider and helping cure the goblin was redemption, Andrew saving mj was redemption and Tom sacrificing his life basically was redemption. This movie was brilliant and no one talks about it. The way they wrapped up 8 films in one scene while giving us the uncle Ben line from may and re-introducing daredevil to the MCU 👏 my favorite Spider-Man movie and I seen them all in theaters

Something about when Tom’s spidey breaks the pumpkin bomb out of the glider and jams it into said glider with so much rage, it just makes me legit feel like In that moment is when the bloodlust started for goblin

At 1:00 I feel for Garfield's Spider-Man here. He's going through a PTSD trip right there. I can't get over how good of an actor he is. Brilliant in his Spider-Man Series, absolutely nailed the role of Private Desmond Doss. He maybe B or even A tier actor in Hollywood be he is an S tier actor in my book.

The long awkward pause after Andrew landed with Zendaya was for all the audience screaming.

Spiderman: no , my parents, uncle Ben, thor , hulk , black widow, iron Man, victure, the avengers, guardians of the galaxy, thanos , nick fury, maira hill , mysterio, j jorah Jameson, doctor strange, doctor otto , you, frint marcho , doctor conor , max , your Peter and Peter 3 , they both taught me, with great power, there must also come great responsibility, i will never never let my fear , chaos, pain , suffering, the darkness tourche me . I will never become you.

Just shows you how strong any of the Spider-Man’s can be when they don’t pull their punches/hold back. They can easily beat Captain America is they really wanted to.

Imagine this Spidey pulling back his punches grown up fine stronger going up against civil war captain america

Nobody ever mentions how Tom dodges the winged bombs the same way Tobey did

This movie has many amazing and spectacular performances, but this clip alone show why we love all 3 of Spider-Man actors in their roles. You can feel Andrew's guilt and relief when he catches MJ. You can feel Tom's hatred and rage toward Goblin. You can feel Tobey's forgiveness and struggle. They are all perfect as their Spider-Man. And seeing them all 3 together on screen was the happiest day of my life. The movie may not have been the best Marvel or the best Spider-Man movie, but it was still amazing experience and both Disney and Sony did a spectacular job. Tobey, Andrew, Tom, we love you.

If Peter ever stops pulling his punches like in this scene it's actually over for you. If the MCU was comics accurate he's actually stronger than Captain America. He's also incredibly quick, and with his spider sense and web shooters, is basically a one-on-one matchup nightmare. Goblin had no chance.

This is probably the best 3rd act out of any Spiderman movie, ever. This whole movie was amazing, but honestly, without the 3rd act it wouldn't be as phenomenal as it is now. Thank you Jon watts for this masterpieceful fan fair of a Spiderman film.

FINALLY, ive wanted to see spider not pull punches for so long, people over look the final fight, he crushes the shield likes its nothing, you can had hear the soundbarrier breaking when hes punching goblin on his knees, people keep seeing spiderman as a side hero but hes stronger than 90% of the avengers, only hulk and thor could beat him

Every punch that Peter threw that goblin, you felt the pure anger and hatred it gave off

Up there in my favorites of spidermans with the original trilogy. I loved this whole scene. Then at the end, how he suggested that spell, how Strange mentions, We'd forget, as he included himself in people he loves or whatever. He cares.

Tom is gonna absolutely eat in this next trilogy.

0:47 the way Andrew did that you can tell he's replayed in his head a thousand times how he failed with Stacy and what he could have done different, and it obviously still burdens him

The green goblin is just a real evil psychopath. He really is like the joker, only difference is there really isnt anything funny about the green goblin. Its tragic that norman osbourne deals with the green goblin in his head, no peace. The joker is just as evil, but surprisingly charismatic and entertaining. Its quite frightening that the green goblin and the joker find pleasure in making there respective hero cross the line, even if it gets them killed.

7:43 missed opportunity to say strange!

I remember watching this the first time. I thought I remembered Tom just _ripping_ a grounded Green Goblin with hooks, not making a sound, just waiting to watch him die. -- It was *super* intense for me to have seen that.

I find it funny how people think Norman was "cured", while Norman was never this crazy, he always had a narcissistic and greedy personality. While the board did him dirty by removing him from his own company, it was clear that none of them liked him either, including the military. You can even see a hint of that after he was "cured" when he saw that Toby was hurt and then had a "smug" like facial expression for a second before he said "What have I done?"

Andrew Garfield is amazing. There is SO much weight in the scene where he leaps to save MJ and succeeds. It’s written all over his face; failing Gwen broke his heart Also, Tom’s punches look AMAZING in this. It REALLY feels like they have weight behind them. SUPER fast and decisive, better than most punches in most movies

Willem Dafoe proved one thing in this movie... he IS THE GOBLIN... no one can replicate it...

Andrew's spidey helping to save Tom's MJ by properly retrieving a damsel in decent like that, using a move Tobey's spidey has used b4. You can tell Andrew has grown so much as Spiderman off-screen, plus we get to see his sense of redemption after the fact. It's the subtle things like that for me that really make this movie hit home!

The fact he took all them punches to the face and smiled.. that's someone you don't wanna continue to punch 😂 run my boii

The thing I liked best about this movie was them making him SpiderMan again. Not Spider and his friends, Spider and the Avengers, he is back to being a nerdy guy saving others.

The fact GG can take hits like that from SM says how tough he is

We can see the goblin blade like the one Harry use when he fights bully Maguire, and the whistle flowing from the blade on Spider-Man 3

The three Spiders, Green Goblin, and the goodbye to MJ and Ned are all great but I think Benedict Cumberbatch doesn't get enough credit in this. When he tells the consequences to Peter, you can tell that despite everything, he genuinely loves Peter as a friend and doesn't want to lose him. You can just tell he's as conflicted at that moment as Peter was during the first spell casting.

Funfact: Goblin was healed from Norman. Missed opportunity: Goblin not activating glider thrust to hit Tobeys Spiderman while he is trying to save him.
